Title: The Emperor?s Daughter

Timeframe: 1-year pre-ANH to ANH.
Characters: OC, Palpatine, Vader, Mara Jade, Leia Organa, others (OC's and canon).
Genre: AU, humor, drama, romance?I dunno.
Summary: Palpatine?s daughter tells her story thought a diary.

I?ve never written a diary myself so if something is off, then it?s all my fault. The updates won?t be very long and if nothing else then I will be updating this every other week. I'll try more often thought.

I hope that it will be somewhat enjoyable.

Entry 1


My mom gave me this diary years ago but I never got around to write in it, well it is more like, I never knew what to write in it. My life isn?t very interesting, or at least, it wasn?t.

But, let?s start from the beginning.

I have a big mouth, you can ask anyone who knows me about that and they all say the same.

And trust me, that mouth have gotten me into trouble more then once not to mention that it sometimes drives people crazy. I mean, I am shy, and when I?m along a big group of people I?m quiet but once I start talking?

Now I wish that someone would have told me to just shut it, but no one did and no one stopped me when I asked for my father, and my father I got.

Some might think, isn?t that a good thing? And for everyone but me, it probably is.

It?s interesting how life can change so fast.

One moment I?m just a kid among billions of others.

Living with my mom in a beautiful house on Naboo. Going to a regular school like every other fifteen-year-old in the Galaxy, unless of course you?re like a Jedi, because then you?re probably dead.

Then next, my whole world is charted into millions of tiny pieces.

You might wonder what makes me so ?special.?

It?s nothing really, well, at least nothing that I have any control over.

Like I wrote earlier and add that I couldn?t chose who would be my parents. If I could I would be the daughter of?I don?t know, anyone, because anyone would be better then what I got, well, my mom?s great but it take two to?I?m not going to go there.

I still can?t believe that my mother kept it a secret.

How many times haven?t I asked her who my father is and how many times the answer has been ?I don?t know? or ?I don?t want to talk about it? or my favourite ?I?m not sure.?

And then he came to my home to take me with him.

Just the morning of my first day of summer vacation. He looked strange. Dressed in a black cloak I couldn?t see anything but the lower part of his face.

He didn?t even care when my mom asked, well, it was more like begged him to let me stay, and he didn?t listen when I did the same.

Then I asked then if I could say good-bye to my best friend but I wasn?t aloud to do that either. He said something about friends being a weakness but that can?t be true, my friend had always been there for me since we were kids.

But, I was dragged aboard his ship and after a quiet and unnerving trip I got my first good look at Coruscant. My new home.

I was quickly pushed into the Imperial Palaces by my father?s security officers.

I didn?t like it and I don?t like them, the way they looked at my father.

Because that is who I am.

The Emperor's daughter.

Misty Raven Palpatine.

But I refuse to call him anything other than father, not milord, not master, not dad and definitely not daddy.

Entry 2


Not soon after I had been taken to my new room they had left me alone. Well, not completely alone, I do have two droids as company but it?s not enough.

I miss my past life.

My mom?s smiling face when I at the age of five used to run out and pick flowers for the dinner table.

I miss my mom, sometimes more then what I want or can admit.

I have one holo-picture of us together, one that my father doesn?t know I have. And I hope that he won?t.

It was taken on my fifteens birthday. Just a few month before my father took me away.

Looking at it makes me feel less alone.

And when I don?t have the picture with me I often close my eyes just to try and see if I can remember my childhood.

We don?t look alike, my mom and me, and I always wonder if I might look more like my father. It?s one scary thought.

I did have a happy childhood, and now I still can?t help but wonder if I will have an happy adulthood.

It may have been short, but it was quite a poignant little scene. You do a good job of portraying her sadness.

Wow, Erica! That was great! I feel so sorry for Misty, what a terrible father she has! Palpatine is truly a person, who ruins everything, and I hope our Misty will find a way to live the life she wants.

I love this.

Its starts out normal but has a great twist.

 

What a great element with her clutching to that momento from the past to protect her from the present.

 

As a old song said, you don't know what you got till it's gone.

O hope the year will be brighter than she suspects but with her dad???

I'm gald to see Misty managed to keep a holograph of her mother. I certainly hope Palpatine doesn't ever find it.

I did have a happy childhood, and now I still can?t help but wonder if I will have an happy adulthood.

Entry 3


I got to meet Vader today, the Emperors second in command, his left (or was it right?) hand.

Big guy with no sense of fashion stile what so ever, I mean, I don?t know much about fashion but even I know that wearing the same thing day in and day out is?bad?

And what?s with that loud breathing.

I mean, try to read or study with something that sounds like a garbage disposer behind your shoulder.

Babysitter or bodyguard or whatever my father tries to tell me he is, I?m Seventeen, and I don?t need a guardian but of course my father doesn?t listen to me, like he ever does.

But even if Vader doesn?t seem to eager to follow me around either, he would never disobey my father.

But I?m going to try what no one have dared before and I might as well have some fun while doing it.

I?m going to make him regret the day he heard the word Sith Lord and when I do, maybe my father will actually show me some emotions, even if he kills me.

First on the list.

Shopping

Hmm, I wonder if Sith Lord?s can blush because I?m pretty sure that?s what Vader did when I showed him the new underclothes I was thinking of buying.

It was so hard to keep myself from laughing. I almost felt sorry for the guy, almost being the keyword here.

When I was done with the shopping, I let him carry the bags and as an award for the burden I let him drive the speeder. It seems to make him happy and that made me happy, because there is nothing more annoying then a grumpy Sith lord. Trust me on that one.

Exercising

Even the Emperors daughter need to exercise from time to time, well, this would be the first time for me but still.

I can only imagine the look Vader gave me when I asked him to help me with some of the exercises.

And a trip the public Library.

I?ve loved the Library since I was a kid and things haven?t changed. The smell and sight of all lines and lines, of both holo-books and regular once, was breathtaking and I couldn?t help but smile.

And the smile stayed on my face, at least until Vader caught up with me. HiS breathing echoed in the large hall and it was then the idea of sitting there and try to read vanished. Sure no one would dare tell us to leave but we did anyway.

After that I felt like going home, but I had to go to the palace?you didn?t think that it was the palace I meant by going home did you? Because it?s not, it never has been and it never will be.

Well, once we got back, I told him that I would spend the rest of the evening in my room and that he could leave.

I don?t think that I?ve ever seen anyone leave so fast before.
