In ROTS, in conversation with Padme, he makes a point of saying that he's tired of keeping secrets - he doesn't care if the Council find out (by implication, even if this means they kick him out).

Sure, he's tired of keeping secrets, and at that point if they find out is willing to accept the consequences.

But he wasn't planning on leaving of his own accord-becuase he wanted to be a master and pretty clearly still considered himself a Jedi.

The ironic thing is that even if Yoda and the Council kicked Anakin out at this time, he literally holds all the cards (because they still think he might be the Chosen One) but he doesn't even know it.

If Yoda outright kicked Anakin out during their ROTS chat if he deduced Anakin was asking about nightmares regarding his wife, you can bet that a short time later once Palpatine starts issuing Order 66 and declaring himself Emperor that Yoda and even Mace would start crawling back to Anakin (who would be badgering some hospital in Coruscant to get the best medical care for Padme) on how their "Chosen One" needs to come back and save them from the Sith.

I suspect in that event, Palpatine would have it somewhat more easily, and could more easily directed Anakin against the order, not to mention Anakin was popular with the public and a secret marriage would if publically revealed would likely have gained him sympathy in the senate, and general public-"so what if the hero with no fear has a secret wife, the jedi should lay off on his private affairs". Which if Palpatine uses that-Anakin's path to Sithdom would proceed differently.

This was hinted in Darth Vader and The Lost Command.

I don't recall that source. But it blatantly contradicts how we see Anakin act in ROTS, and other material such as TCW.

Anakin wants to be "the most powerful Jedi in history" and he gets really upset at not being made a master-thinking he has earned the position. If he intended to leave or didn't care about being expelled he would not have gotten so worked up over being denied the rank of master.

If this is a competition then I don't think it's much of one. First Order is just Empire 2.0 with bigger weapons but less cool.

Fel Empire and Imperial Knights is somewhat original and awesome.

The Felpire is most definitely more original, nuanced and interesting an organization than the FO.

I, too, love takes such as "what if the racist murderers were right."

You just dont GET IT man like the Empire we're totally nuanced and maybe the Emperor wasn't really an evil space wizard and from my point of view the Jedi are evil and Fel was really just a misunderstood guy and you just hate having villains with character that totally overwrite all the awful things they do and really the rebels deserved it.

But the yuuzhan vong justified it all cause there's never been a bunch of fascist racist murderers who justified everything on their claimed efficacy against external invaders who coincidentally can look like any of your own people thereby justifying any and all atrocities that one commits on your own people in the name of a claimed sense of security.

Sarcasm aside, the yuuzhan Vong were somewhat justified as they faced extinction and death in the void if they didn't invade the SW Galaxy, and also what can't fault them for insincerity, as the overwhelming majority passionately believed in their own righteousness and the reality of the gods.

Which does lead to an interesting tangent, what if the Vong gods were real?
