Good day all.



With the coming end of the Last Epitaph game, the Epitaph Between/Between Epitaph duology, let alone Dark Reach, and of course the finale to Twilight of the Force pending, I felt it appropriate to ask the Role Playing Forum how they feel about our resident Black-Coat in time for (another) End of Time.

Courtesy of his cameos in Resurrection, Marvel, Genesis Gate, Selenia and more besides, he has a few names to boot.

Wapoe, the Master, Samhain, Jester, Foreteller, Professor, Trayus...

Why don't we start at one of the oldest. Sowing discord in the first class of Protectors, especially getting them to believe Zas'tel was the bad guy and turning on someone who was trying to keep it all from falling apart.

Wapoe similarly respects Patriarch and considers him a good foe. I imagine our views could one day align.

But Samhain's starting point with Nyubis/Anubis is that he really needs to die. So sorry, our friendship (and budding romance subplot) will have to wait.

It's a love/hate relationship.

He planted the seed of doubt within the first class of Protectors and drove poor Joren crazy with his paranoia. But if you travel further down the timeline, he then assisted Aryan in achieving his goal—he gifted him with the Scepter of Ragnos (and the baseline for the ritual), which ultimately allowed him to rise to the Eternal Throne. He also served as Aryan's spirit guide in Resurrection. All things considered, he probably wouldn't have survived his encounters with Tavion/Wyyrlok/White Eyes without his aid.

So, I suppose it's not all...bad things.

But hang on, I'm going to pull a Joren! I have my doubts that he acted purely out of the kindness of his own (black?) heart. He had ulterior motives... <_<

 

Hmmm, next, Atin-Kot is still waiting to see what else he's going to do. So that means moving on to Bernael. Ummm, that book is quite thick.

He did help you out in Twilight of the Force after all, as you say, and sheesh, you'd definitely be dead in Resurrection without his help.

So there is some definite good in all this, surely?

Well...I see there is one category, the RIGHT category for him, that he can walk away with in the RPF awards.

 

His nomination popping up was pretty funny as I open group therapy for Everything The Master Has Done To The RPF.

 

At this point, I should probably just concede.

I also introduced the Master from the Ronin era somewhere… before his appearance in Ronin. Lolz
