The EUC Starfighter Draft - Episode III: Revenge of the TIEs

Answer: One of them was a reigning champion, who automatically gets placement, and the other was only due to a special situation.

 

I have a question about the judge selectment. Did all three of those PM you between the end of the last draft, and the start of this one?

 

Jello: I'm sorry you missed the sign-ups, man. The reason that Talon's name was put on the list was because he won the last Draft, thus guarenteeing him a spot in this Draft. As for adam, I made the special exception because he had missed out on the previous Drafts, and he had contributed a lot to the last Draft, and he didn't want to miss this one. Usually I don't put a GMs name on the list for them, but as I said, I made an exception this time.

Thrawn: I talked to Gaeri, Saber, and Firke during the last Draft and before this one and they all expressed interest in judging. Both Gaeri and Saber have already won the Draft, so they wanted to judge instead. I'm sorry you missed the sign-ups, but I have you down first on my list of replacement GMs/Judges that I will contact if necessary; Jello is second.

But if either of you still wants something to do in the Draft, we could always use a SFD Swami Plus, commentary throughout the Draft is always welcome.

Swami, for those unfamiliar, is predicting outcomes of each match. It was invented, I believe, in the 5th 2004 Jedi Draft when Corran (except for a few matches at the end) was out of the Draft and started predicting matches for fun.

2. LordJoda-181 has offered to relinquish his GM spot and turn it over to GrandAdmiralJello. Apparently he's talked it over with Jello and ThrawnRocks, so I guess everything is fine with it.

EDIT: I want to warn everyone that, even though my next pick isn't for a while, I know these tend to go really fast in the beginning. On that note, I won't be online until (at EARLIEST) 1:30 PM board time, but more likely, 4:00 PM board time. I apologize in advance if this slows things down in any way.

Jello, it seems only logical that you would take Joda's place in line.

 

Alright, fine... I just don't have time for a debate. This is how I see it: I see it as logical because everyone else is posting in the same order as defined earlier. It makes sense that you should keep Joda's spot, as the spots are arbitrarily chosen. The only other way I see it is that you get put at the end of the draft roster, but then that would give you first choice on the second round, which is almost a reward. The way I see it, Joda gave you that spot as a gift, and you should not be "punished" for it.

Maybe not as logical as it could be.

Reasonable shall do, as I just showed you... reason.
