The EUC Starfighter Draft - Episode VII: Heir to the Hangar Bay

I don't think it's too early for Fel at all. I think that if I'd been in your shoes, I'd have chosen Vader, but choosing Fel is hardly taking a loss.

 

Nah, you can pretty much take any one of the "Big 5" with any one of the first five picks and won't be a bad move. The order they go in doesn't really matter.

I'd argue with that. Assuming your Big 5 is the skywalkers, Vader, Fel and Wedge, I think Anakin is the weakest of them to pick. Not due to his individual skills(you know how I feel about Anakin), but because it's so hard to build a good, moderately cohesive team around him.

 

Well, not a horribly bad move. I still think there's a distinct pecking order within those top uber picks, but yeah. And I dunno about Anakin. I very specifically added some PT pilots last time so that there would be a few halfway decent options for a PT team in the last couple rounds. Of course, I didn't expect someone to try and build the majority of their team around those late-round PT picks. Mace Windu in the third? Come on.

Strangely enough, what I would consider to be the best PT pilot I added last time didn't get picked.

 

If every pilot gets drafted where they should you could end up with a pretty dominate top 4 pilots involving PT Jedi. You would get the ultimate team, plus two of the top pilots. You oculod then get two decent last picks and trump them. However, I doubt that would happen. But who though u could see Vader, Fel, Steele, and Turr on the same team

I pick KenKenobi. I mean Anakin Skywalker.

 

and so the top five pilots go in the top five! Shocking!

I don't know, it seems a bit early for Jag to go, even if you think he's the best of the Twin Suns triumvirate(Jaina, Jag, Kyp). But whatever. You can build a solid team around him, so he's not that bad a pick.

 

I guess we'll see. I'm still trying to get the hang of this whole Draft thing; it's still only my second one.

He's a good enough pilot, and like you said, I can build a sold enough team around him. So I guess we'll see?

 

I had a crazy idea. These drafts have been going on for awhile now and many have us have been in all of them in one way or another. Everyone is getting really good at drafting and knows who and who not to pick. We are never going to see a Super team again, because no one would let it happen because we are too experienced. What if next draft we tried to get some newbies in here? There are twelve spots correct, what if 4 of the twelve were just reserved for newbies? That means 8 spots for veterns and 4 for rookies. It would make drafting a lot more interesting because I also feel rookies add something to the draft. It might be hard to get many rookies sign up so their could be a time limit and after that veterns can take the spot.

I personally think a "Tournament of Champions" Draft would be great.

 

Hmm, there are six of us now who have officially won already within the SFD. I'd probably lose.

 

I never thought of a tournment of champions, that would be hard to win.

 

Hey, I'm a newb at the SFD. Even if I've judged some before. Which, I guess, doesn't really make me a newb as much as a rookie.

 

Actually there are eight. Can't forget about the SWC drafts.

Juuuust enough for a single elimination tournament. Of course, if we were to use the teams that we won with, then there's no need. Saber's team would be a lock. Meh.
