Does anyone here watch "Still Standing" on Wednesday nights? I really like Mark Addy and I've been weak in the knees over Jamie Gertz since she was in "Square Pegs". However I am totally offended by the networks portrayal of the nerdy son. This week's scenario was this: the son is in a production of "West Side Story" and gets injured in the knife fight scene. While he is at the doctor's office he meets this smokin' hot chica who is attracted to him because she thinks that he's really in a gang. They wind up at the girl's house and it turns out that the dad has a sci-fi memorablia collection that most of us would murder for. Now here's the part that offends me. The girl invites this dork up to her room, but he'd rather parade around in general ursula's costume from "planet of the apes". I mean really! In what universe would a nerd (male)turn down a female of any kind (or species)to play dressup? Do I need to remind anyone of that famous line from "Revenge of the Nerds"?

Okay, no response eh? Well, different subject then. Has anyone seen the Phantom Edit? Is it worth looking for? Or is this a taboo subject on the boards?

 

Well, Chuck, after all...the guy was a nerd...but I think I'm with you...don't really understand his behavior.

I have not seen Phantom Edit, but something tells me I would like it. Go for it and post or PM the link

It would be so nice if a link to a place where one could download this ended up in my PM box one day. Not likely I suppose.

 

There has to be a copy floating around here somewhere. I wouldn't mind a link either.

As far as I know, the edit is much less taboo than the real edition. Remember when we tried to watch that as a group? It was like group torture.

Just wondering if there were any E'ville events/meeting planned near Memorial Day? I plan on taking some of my vay-cay time then, and will be in the tri-state (and hopefully spend some green at Wonderfest).

Oh, here is something no one wanted to know. So, I've been bit by the sci-fi modeling bug again; but I keep forgitting to wear my breather when I spray paint. So, I go into the Doctor's office with a nasty cold, and the guy sticks the lil flashlight up my nose... "Um, Mr. Springer, did you know your mucus is dark blue and light green?" "Uh, like a Tie Fighter and a Kligon Battle Crusier? No clue Doc."
