I read an article on Ewan News that Young Adam is rated NC-17 but the producer wants it to be "R" rated. I think "R" would be more appropriate. It's like what Ewan said one time: Music was used to tell the story of Moulin Rouge but Young Adam sex is used. But that doesn't necessarily make it a bad movie or anything. It's just a plot device.

Well, more than that, this is one case where it's important to actual see what goes on- and how it goes on- because it reveals things about the character from what I deduce. YA has just been given an NC-17 officially as of a few days ago. I will probably see it once it's on DVD. It won't play here anyway. It wouldn't even if it were R, but I don't even know any theatres here that play NC-17. No place I'd be allowed to go, that's for sure ;) It looks like a really good crime drama type movie, and those are my favourite.

    I don't read/watch Harry Potter. HA! ;)

As I'm looking through more and more material about "PG-13" rating, it's becoming more clear to me our movie rating system needs to be seriously revised. We need something more like what the British have.

My research paper btw, is about "Down with Love," and how much not deserving it is of a "PG-13" rating. I'm not entirely finished with it yet (I still have lots of research to do) but when I am, I'll post it here for you guys to read :D

I'll be interested in reading it. I'm not sure if I agree with your idea on that or not, but I'm interested in reading it.

I do agree that we need a British-like system of ratings, definitely.

I worked on the research paper more today this morning in the computer lab. It's a lot more coherent that it was when I first drafted it so maybe in a day or two, I'll post a draft of what I have so far.

Somehow, solo, I'm gonna try and put in that our system really sucks (well, not say that in particular) but we need something like the British rating system because the system we have doesn't make any sense at all.

Ewan's a tad young for Remus Lupin, but I could see him as Bill Weasely, in Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix, couldn't you?

(Ms. Rowling, if you're reading this-hint hint!)

Mind if I join? Granted, I've only seen the SW flicks and Emma(the fact I didn't get to see MR was not my fault), but I will try to change that. Would really like to see A Life Less Ordinary, MR, and Down to/with Love.

Sure you can join, Thrawn1786!! We welcome all Ewan fans. Oooh, I had a dream about Ewan last night. In this one, I wasn't a stalker, just a curious lurker.

I spotted this jeep and the liscense plate said something like "Mr. McGregrr" I looked at it, pondering if it was really Ewan or another guy with the last name or a fan girl, or something. And then out from the van comes Ewan. (Don't you all just love how vivid my dreams are? :D). He's wearing a black suite (not extremely casual) and sporting that heavy Obi-Wan Episode III beard. And surprisingly, I don't fall over myself and say anything stupid but introduce myself, speaking coherently. I told him I'm a big fan and have seen almost all of his movies, and stuff.

And then I don't know why, but I woke up. I probably woke up to check on the time since I didn't want to sleep and miss taking my morning shower.

solojones, eh you pansy ass Scots. Irish own your ass-Erin Go Bragh, baby!

    :D

(BTW, the Irish invented the kilt. Deal with it.)

:p Don't dis the Irish. We used to drink the BLOOD of our dead.

(Although Slavs are even cooler, possibly. I'm such a mutt).

ALLO-maybe all the violence, perhaps? Didn't those two angels keep getting wacked by cars and shovels and stuff? (It's been a long time since I saw it).

I had a dream I was back in high school, and Ewan was filming a movie at my school. My aunt was working on it too, for some reason, and she went to introduce me to him. I was really embarassed because my hair was a mess, I was still in my sloppiest pjs and I didn't have any make up on. Oh, and I had been crying about something or other, so my face was all puffy.

Then I told my best friend from high school about it, and she said, "Ew, I don't like Ewan." Then I woke up, or else it faded into a different type of dream, I don't remember. Either way, I'm glad it was just a dream, because I'm a vain soul, and I hate being seen without make up and my hair fixed. Not just by someone like Ewan, I'm talking the mailman, here. And I'd HATE to be back in high school.

I adore Ewan. The first movie I ever saw him in was Trainspotting.. then I rented Shallow Grave. I never miss one of his films. He's fabulous!! I've always wanted to sit in a pub, smoke cigarettes, and get drunk with him.

I don't know what my ideal meeting would like, if i ever met Ewan. Just as long as I'm not a stalker type person. It's a lot of fun to read actual encounters and everything.

On my paper, I'm gonna try and work in how Ewan is known for "R" rated roles and of course, baring it all in his films. And his language, which never changes. But that's Ewan. :p

Tomorrow is Ewan's birthday!!! And something occured to me yesterday when I was waiting for my dad to pick me up. I will be 21 in April, thus making me a legal adult and then I thought to myself, "I'm won't be a teenager anymore. I will be an adult...maybe I can convince my parents to buy Velvet Goldmine on DVD...and then persuade them to take me to see Young Adam when it comes out later that month."

Onto the big news: TOMORROW IS EWAN'S BIRTHDAY!!! Happy early birthday, Ewan!! And today is Obidala Sanctuary's second birthday!!! Chocolate cake all around... I already bought a Danish yesterday in the cafeteria so I guess that counts as a pre-celebration :D

Bill Weasley, Guin? I could certainly see Ewan in that role... well, the bright red hair might be odd, but that'd be great. [face_laugh]

Even if Young Adam has the NC-17 rating, it'll still show at places. The Dreamers got the rating, and it even showed around me (okay, one theater, but it's better than nothing when one doesn't really live anywhere special). *shakes fist at the NC-17 rating stigma*

Oooh! Happy Birthday to the Obidala Sanctuary!

    Happy Birthday, Ewan!

I think he could pull off the red hair-his own hair is kinda reddish blondish brownish. I just want to see Ewan in Harry Potter!

Personally, I didn't just mean Ewan-I'd hate to meet ANYONE looking like that! LOL-I'm a vain, vain child.

Muahaha. The post stars return with avengence [face_devil]

Anywhom, Happy Birthday Ewan! :D :D 33 years old. Wow, he's an old man, now. Better start planning for that surprise 40th bday party I know we'll be throwing him ;) ... when I'm... 23... 0_o...weird. Anyway, I want to celebrate by watching a Ewan movie. My British exchange student, Kate, is kind of a fan. Maybe I can convince her we need to watch MR [face_love]

Here's hillarious snippet from a random article I read today, I think it came out this week but I forget where it's from:

THOSE TALENTED London lads Jude Law and Ewan McGregor caused a mini-riot when fans spotted them lunching at an outside table at the famed Bird's restaurant in West Hollywood.

A swarm of young women descended on the table and, in typical fashion, demanded autographs (sometimes they say, "excuse me for interrupting your meal ... " but usually it's "sign this!" with no preamble). Jude and Ewan were happy to oblige, but with a wink and a nod to the vagaries of public recognition, each man signed the other's name on napkins, scraps of paper, etc. And you know what? Nobody noticed.

Do all hot, young British actors look alike? Maybe in West Hollywood they do.

[face_laugh] Some people's kids... Were I there, I would have chuckled, then said "Thanks JUDE, can't wait for your new Star Wars movie ;)" and played along.

Also, I got a page for Long Way 'Round added to Internet Movie Database. But there's not really much up there right now, just my summary basically. I'm working on compiling more info to send in.

A very happy birthday to Ewan.

I will celebrate by watching a Ewan movie sometime this weekend, whenever I'm not at work.
Only a 17 days till Young Adam. and only a few more days till the DVD of Big Fish I think, unless I've gotten in my mind wrong with the dates, right now that could be very possible.
