I'm so upset about this. I agree they need to cut ties with him, however Season 5 has been in the can for awhile. Do they go ahead and release it with him in it or do they do reshoots? It's kinda lose/lose for them.

100% I can get behind this all the way. I think he'd make a great Alex.

 

In other news: we got a 4K Sony OLED TV this week and watched The Expanse to test it.

I'm probably going to get in trouble for this, but here goes:

There's a difference between people coming out and saying that Cas Anvar sexually harassed them vs someone saying "a couple of friends told me he did that." Anyone can say "an unnamed friend of mine says you did this." while it should be investigated, that's different than me saying "you did this to me."

EDIT: I just saw in the responses someone's DM's with Cas Anvar and yeah he's **** for that. Throw him on the pile. But i still maintain that from the initial tweet alone "i have friends who said he did x" is not something I would throw on the pile for.

I've just read through some of the twitter replies, and wow, this guy seems just awful. He obviously has a long history of this stuff.

 

How can he get “ing” wrong everytime?

 

They could do reshoots but that's very expensive and puts their season 5 release date off indefinitely, I would think since who knows when they'll be able to go back to filming. As it stands right now, they probably aren't far off whatever their target release date was since it's been in the can for a while and at least some of the VFX is being done at home. (I got that info from a verified person on reddit.) I seriously doubt they'd go that way, but it is a possibility.

The studio has hired a third party to do investigation into the situation. I think this is the right plan. They quickly made it clear they are taking it seriously, aren't planning on covering it up. What happens from here, we'll see, but at least Ty and Daniel have made it clear they'll call it out if they think someone is trying to cover anything up.

Wes Chatham and Steven Strait have made statements, the latter through the James S.A. Corey twitter since he doesn't have social media. Vague, but I think understandable at this time.

 

It would be expensive. If only they had the backing of the richest person ever. I’m sure he’ll do the right thing.

 

He accidentally added the typo to his phone's dictionary and it autocorrects even if he types it correctly. I was wondering about that too and that's my explanation.

Depends on how much ground gets covered in Season 5. If it's one book a season, then it should happen after Season 6. If they condense the Books 5 and 6 storyline into season 5, then it'll happen after this season.
