    About the game

A word of warning, this is not your normal Star Wars game. This game is meant to be a distraction, escape and hopefully entertainment in these troubled and complicated time. Therefore we will apply the old rule from Silicon Valley ... we make the bug a feature!

This game will update daily. Every day you get an update. Great if every day I get a reply. If not I am fine, too. If you look for weekly updates this game might leave you behind rather quickly. Your replies can be short, can be sweet or can be epic, it does not matter.

By the end of the crisis we might have seen the end of this game too. Heroes rise and adventures endured I hope the game will make quarantine for everyone a little bit more entertaining.

Now without further ado ... the intro to the game, which might be the longest post I'd ever make as a GM here.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ...

The old Professor folded his fingers and put the hands on his chest looking over his students of many different species and from many planets of the galaxy as they were sitting in the salon of his mansion and looked at him.

This soirée had not been meant to be a lecture but a social event. When you gathered the brightest minds and future of scolarship in the galaxy ... some healthy questions were to be expected though.

"The Ascendancy War, oh yes. I researched it deeply in my time on Byblos when I was still a young and eager student like you." The elder Professor smiled.

"So after the fall of the Final Order a hundred years of harmony came to be, ensured by the two cooperating super-powers in the galaxy. The Third Republic and the Free Systems. Who knows how it ended?" The Professor asked. The Gotal who was so eager to proof himself and yet so opinionated about so many topics was the first to respond.

"The Massacre of Corsin!" He said and grinned.

"The BATTLE of Corsin, you mean." The beautiful black-haired human next to him spit the words into his direction. Her obvious beauty, blue eyes paired with obsidian hair betrayed her as a Tionese.

"Please, that is terminology. You will find out as your studies continue these games of wording and naming events add little value to your craft, which is unearthing the truth. Anyway, we all know what the two of you mean. The legendary surprise attack of the Empress Armada on the planet Corsin. The destruction of the entire Second Fleet of the Third Republic, the death of many Jedi, the acting surpreme commander and millions of civilians. Right?" The Professor was luring them into a trap and smiled at the group who was sitting at his feet joyfully.

"Exactly." One of the humans in the rear said. The black haired beauty nodded.

"Wrong. Also that event was certainly the one bringing the war to the galaxies attention it was not the first blood shed. That happened far away from the great battles. The first to fall was Taranaun IV. Anybody ever heard of it?" The Professor smiled.

"You refer to Elyseum, don't you? I think Taranaun IV was the official name of Elyseum." A blonde young man in the back of the salon had been the only one not sitting, instead leaning against a bookshelf. Now the Professor had his attention.

"Oh I see my knowledge is not as unique as I hoped for. Please tell us what you know about the planet my young friend ..." The Professor asked. The young man straightened himself.

"Elyseum was the home of Master Do Sal-Kran's academy. A tiny place where he trained a hand full of apprentices." The boy was visibly uncomfortable as he felt the eyes of everyone on him suddenly. "They say Master Kran was so stubborn, they created this academy only to get rid of him."

The Professor nodded. "He was not popular among his peers at the time. Yet among his students were many of the greatest Jedi of their age. History saw in him a great teacher."

The young man nodded. "It was never revealed what happened to him. They say the files were classified."

The Professor nodded. "Oh no. No. For a historian the truth can never be classified. The question is only where we get it from. So let me begin your career tonight by telling you a true story. A lost piece of history ... let me tell you about the Fall of Elyseum!"

    The Fall of Elyseum

    ~ A Prelude to War ~

Welcome to The Fall of Elyseum , a game born out of crisis. Seriously this game has one purpose and one purpose only, it will be a fast-paced adventure in a galaxy far far away to keep all of us occupied while our real world is going crazy.

So roughly a hundred years after Rey Skywalker defeated the Emperor for good ... there is a planet called Elyseum, which is an abandoned mining colony now housing a very small Jedi Academy run by a single Master. He trains students until he thinks they are ready for taking their Jedi Trials and then he finds them a Master to conclude their training in practice. You could say it is more or less a forgotten place.

So obviously you can play one of his apprentices, but I am willing to accept any character that makes sense. Only Dark Side Users and Jedi Masters are off limits. You gotta have a good explanation why you are on Elyseum if you play anything but a Jedi apprentice of Master Kran. But maybe you are hiding or seeking advice from a Jedi Master for other reasons. Maybe you got business to do there.

Character submission starts now and I plan to start the game as soon as I feel we got a descent cast. The game will stay open for joiners for another ten days or so. Because of the high speed of the game I am not expecting it to last forever. It was be a contained story with a beginning and an end.

Her robes and nothing else really. She has begun collecting the necessary means to build her own lightsaber, but is still missing a crystal.
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: Apprentice

    Bio:

Kira comes from an old line of Jedi Knights, also not all of the force sensitives in her family have joined the order. Her mother knew Master Kren from the days when he was still a valued member of the order and decided he was the best choice to train her daughter when she showed great promise in the force. She has been on Elyseum since she was six and considers the planet her home and Master Kren the closest thing to a father she ever had.

Eager to become a Jedi Knight she fears and longs for the day she progresses to the next stage of her training and will finally leave the planet to travel the stars with a new Master.

    Equipment:
Padawan robes, old, broken, pyramidal Holocron, comlink, lightsaber, a few clothes of his own (robes are heavy)
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: Jedi apprentice

Bio: The adopted child of Aden, he was passed to the Jedi Council for training on the basis that his father 'had too much dark in him'. Li always wondered as to that, but didn't too much. He had never seen darkness in his adopted father, and he didn't see much in the world he was given to, but he always remembered that. Classes are classes; he doesn't think much of them and the Republic and Free Worlds, both of which seemed too far removed from his day-to-day. Though the stories of Rey Skywalker and the Emperor are interesting.

He learns, he pays attention, he progresses... But he is a Jedi apprentice, and he wants to become a Knight so he can see that galaxy and understand it better... but his mind does wander, and often he wants to wonder more than he learns.

    Equipment:
Her Jedi Robes, a communicator and climbing gear, she secretly owns a purple lightsaber which she keeps hidden in her room.
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: Apprentice

Bio: For Elysa this planet is not a chance, it is punishment. A year ago her Master Doran Thaal vanished and left her as his Padawan alone. She knew many within the Jedi Order had criticized her attitude and recklessness. Therefore she was afraid to be expelled from the order with her only benefactor gone.

She travelled to Elyseum, as her Master had spoken highly about Master Kran, but was shocked by how small and rudimentary the Jedi Enclave was. With nowhere else to go, she claimed the order had send her to conclude her training. Master Kran looked through the lie right away, but accepted her anyway. For a year she has now trained on Elyseum, awaiting the day when she could return to the stars. Her thirst for adventure she satisfies by exploring the ruins of the abandoned colony whenever her Master can be convinced to lend her his speeder.

Among the apprentices she keeps mostly to herself. She has a secret though not even Master Kran has unveiled so far. She has the lightsaber of her old Master in her possession and hides it carefully in her locker. It holds great sentimental value to her and she does not want to loose it.

Strong in all physical aspects of the force she struggles with the more spiritual lessons. The Jedi Order has never fully accepted her and therefore it is hard for her to blindly accept it's teachings.

    Rank: Former Apprentice

Bio: Sy was a failure, he failed at being an apprentice, he failed at being a soldier, he failed at being a smuggler, he failed at being a bounty hunter, he failed at being a pirate...he has failed at a lot of things.

When it came to light that he was a force sensitive, his parents sent him off to be trained. Then one master after another wrote him off...too head strong, not focused enough, unwilling to listen, difficult. That was until Master Kran took him in at Elyseum. It wasn't easy, and Sy almost gave up himself but Master Kran didn't let him, wouldn't let him. He showed promise, showed ability, and when finally he was almost ready to be handed off to a master to finish his training. He nearly killed another student in a training accident...Kran couldn't overlook this egregious mistake.

Sy failed, and this lead to many many failures later.

Freshly released from prison for larceny, he now finds himself with a bounty on his head...the only safe place for him with his old master, the only man that ever thought there was something useful in him. One transport ride from Corsin with a young boy, set to be evaluated for training, and his mother, Sy finds himself at the entrance that he left behind over a decade ago. He can only hope that the old man will take him back.

Janis is a boy from Corsin, where he lives with his mother. She works in a local hospital which allows her to be treated for her chronical disease she is suffering from. It has gone worse lately and she is afraid of the time when she can't work anymore to provide for her son.

Janis therefore has done what he could to support her. He has acquired some skills in repairing stuff and has begun to add a few credits to their household by repairing droid for farmers and independent miners.

Something is wrong with him though. He tried to keep it a secret, but his mother recognized it over time. When bad things happen he feels them sometimes in advance. He felt a strong feeling of danger when a mine collapsed and also he felt it when his grandfather died days before he had a stroke. But that isn't all. When three older bullies tried to rob him he got angry and beat up all three of them. He suddenly was stronger and faster than he should have. His mother thinks he is strong in the force and she sees a chance for him to find a new home within the Jedi Order where he would be taken care of. Janis hates the idea of being separated from his mother though and has only hesistantly complied when she took what little savings she had to buy a passage to the Jedi Enclave on Elyseum so he could be tested for his ability as a Jedi.

    Bio:

Sometime after Jedi Master Kran established his Jedi Academy, an anonymous supporter gifted him with this rare and unique training droid. The origins of the donation could not be traced, nor the origin of the droid itself. However, the droid’s Master Control codes were released to Master Kran. Only he had absolute control over the unit, despite being able to issue subordinate control ‘keys’ to others.

It did not take long for the Jedi Master to discover the range of training ‘partners’ the droid’s programming was capable of summoning. Pro-XE was an advanced ‘tool’ with no personal leanings and his usefulness was determined by the user. Fortunately, Pro-XE was quite capable in many other functions as well, technical and otherwise. He was a superb technician and fixer-upper, an inexhaustible source of trivia and facts, and most ironically, a fairly competent debater of ethics, philosophy and morality.

Only later was it discovered that he could also 'summon' the likeness of 'trained professionals' along with their skill sets. At least those he could 'access'.This, of course, increased Pro-XE's overall usefulness.

How Master Karn chose to utilize Pro-XE remained to be seen.

    Arek Graul
    Age: 20
    Appearance:

Equipment: Jedi robes, though he prefers not to wear them – they are too heavy, hot, and restrictive; comlink and datapad; blue-bladed lightsaber; a few personal items from home, including holoimages, books, and a small collection of his own clothes.
    The Force: Yes
    Rank: Jedi Apprentice
Bio: As the son of a prominent Senator serving on the Galactic Senate and a philanthropist, many viewed Arek as the epitome of wealth and privilege; he was never in need. He had the very best tutors for his schooling, an exorbitant lifestyle, and everything else that credits could buy. While living life in the limelight was difficult for a small child, he endured and made the most of his experience. He also idolized his father and mother for the work they did for the thriving Republic. Everything felt so perfect…

    Until the incident.

Arek had always known he was special; he could perceive things before they happened and had reflexes that far surpassed his peers, especially when engaging in sports and other extracurricular activities. His parents never really paid much attention to these unique traits – until the day that he got into an argument with a friend and lashed out with a true display of his powers. He nearly injured his friend, which would have a profound impact on Arek’s psyche as he grew older. He developed an irrational fear of himself and of his burgeoning powers. He shut himself off from others and made a conscious decision to avoid tapping into the Force. All of this triggered a series of events that ultimately landed him at the Jedi Academy on Elyseum.

His father wanted him to learn more about his powers and trusted Master Kran to hone and develop his skills in the proper way. The elder Graul insisted that this was to help him overcome his mental block, though there were some rumblings of an ulterior motive that Arek could never prove. This shook the boy’s confidence, and he began to protest his father’s decision. He did not want to leave home and didn’t understand why it was necessary. Unfortunately, his efforts would prove fruitless – his father used his mother’s fear for him to convince her that this was the right course for their son. Without any other options, Arek soon arrived on Elyseum and began his training. This was 10 years ago.

Now, at the age of 20, Arek is on the cusp of becoming a Jedi Knight. While he has come a long way since arriving at the Academy, he remains somewhat cautious and timid in his approach. He is eager to please, though the incident still looms like a dark shadow at the back of his mind. It serves as a reminder of his own vulnerabilities and that they are all just a handbreadth’s away from the true darkness that lingers inside each one of them. He is no longer afraid, but restrained. This may make him appear socially awkward or shy to his peers.

    So it begins ...

    Jedi Master Do Sal-Kran

    Near the Elyseum Jedi Academy

They were mostly the only two people constantly living on the planet and that had lead to a strange friendship between Jedi Master Do Sal-Kran and the smuggler Eren Light, who had build her base in the ruins of the abandoned colony a few thousand miles away.

The often grim Master Kran was not known for his tolerance towards unsavory elements, yet the young and ambitious woman had softened him up obviously.

They were now walking the gardens around the Jedi Enclave on their way to the waterfall, which was the Jedi Master's favorite spot to meditate these days.

"Met a few Jedi at Wayland the other day. I told one about you and guess what he told me?" Eren asked and chewed on ... whatever she always chewed on. The young woman with hazel hair was walking next to Kran, as they circled through the habitat around the Jedi Academy towards the waterfalls. Kran looked at her and she was so full of energy he half expected her to run circles around him like a padak-dog.

"I am a Jedi, not a mind reader." Kran said and looked at her.

"Thought that was the same. Anyway, he had never heard of this place." She smiled. Master Kran was not surprised. Elyseum was in the so called No Mans Land between the Free Systems and the Third Republic. The Academy had been the historical smallest the current incarnation of the Jedi Order had ever entertained, which probably meant many of his brothers considered it simply ... meaningless. He wondered what a Jedi was doing on Wayland though. He knew next to nothing about the Jedi Orders affairs nowadays. He reminded himself he actually liked it that way. Eren kept on talking. "Kran, if you talked to them they might let you come back. You know that do you?"

Kran smiled. "I am where the force wants me to be." He replied and looked at her. "And I think the farther away I am from the Jedi Council the more peaceful our relationship will be." Eren nodded frustrated. She knew this was as close to an exile as a Jedi got without leaving the order. For Master Kran this was a purpose though. He knew she might not understand. She was too restless to understand that there needed to be a place for misfits to find a home, even if they were Jedi.

"Okay sure. I haven't exactly picked smugglers moon myself as a base. Anyway, heard the thing about Sorgan, too. Is it true?" Eren asked.

"What did you hear about it?" Kran asked.

"That you had a Republic fleet defy orders to fight a war at your side against the Jedi Councils wishes? Something about that." Eren grinned. "Are you a rebel at heart, old man?"

Kran looked at her and then he gave her one of his rare smiles. "It were only three ships and I did the will of the force. Not always an easy path I assure you." Eren send him a look revealing she doubted this version of his story and checked her wrist-comm. "I gotta get back. So you need to take care of your students again I am afraid. Oh, there is one more thing."

    Kran raised his brow. "Yes?"

"You got visitors. Another ship. My sensors picked it up this morning. Probably more candidates, huh?" Eren did not mind this too much, but Kran looked at her as if a more stern gaze might reveal some truth.

"Maybe." He just said. His little enclave was pretty busy right now so he doubted the council would send any more students by themselves, but he had still friends within the order who brought candidates to him from time to time. Nobody had announced their arrival though.

He wondered what could bring another ship here then. Probably scavengers looking for valuable things in the ruins of the abandoned mining colony in the souther desert. He did not mind those as long as they did not interfere with his academy. Reaching out with the force he felt something ripple in the force ...

He felt a presence though very familiar. A prodigal son returned to his enclave.

"Welcome back Sy." He sighed and wondered what brought his greatest disappointment back to Elyseum.

The Training Grounds, Garden, Jedi Academy

The academy itself was a simple place and had little luxury. Within the old outpost Master Kran had established two levels with the third serving as their storage. The upper level were the training grounds and quarters of the Jedi Apprentices.

The lower level included the sparring room, Master Kran's quarters, the holo-room and the guest quarters as well as the small medbay and the small library.

Considering the few options the students were encouraged mostly to spend their time outside when they were not training. A number of droids maintained quite a bit of a garden, a sports ground and parkour for the students. Today it had happened that most of them had gathered on the sports grounds, as it had a bit more shadow and it was an especially hot day.

"Why has none of us been send to the Jedi Center on Tython with the last shuttle? I mean I am ready! I can feel it, you know? There is nothing more to learn here on this forsaken rock!" Varik was a senior apprentice by now and among the oldest of all of them. His eagerness to progress had shown more and more over the last days and he had also started to show a certain feeling of not belonging to 'them' anymore as he had a better control of the force by now than most of them.

"I mean none of you can beat me anymore, right?" He surprised them all by igniting his training saber. "Look what the Master left unlocked today. Guess that means we do sparring. Anyone wants to give it a try?" Varik grinned broadly as he held up the hilt of the second training sword.

All other apprentices were assembled at the training ground. Elysa Tarn, the latest student to join the academy was there standing on the side of the sparring field next to Arek Graul. Elysa had already been part of the trials, when her Master disappeared. Arek was next to Varik considered to be among the most likely candidates for progression.

Kira Romar was sitting under a tree next to Li Kya the oldest of the apprentices. Varik was there and of course their youngest member Silo Best. He was twelve and always intimidated by the older apprentices, which was why he stayed usually alone.

    Silo Best

They all knew sparring without the Master or Pro-Xe his faithful training Droid qwas forbidden, even with training sabers. Yet, lately Master Kran had rarely given them a chance to practice.

    Training Room, Jedi Enclave

Akeem’nun’Bestat of Haruun Kal was not too affected by the heat that made today's day so unbearable because he was used to it from the jungles of his homeworld. He was the one student who was not in the gardens. No, Master Kran had ordered him to be evaluated today for his progress in the art of the lightsaber. Master Kran refrained from even attending such lessons and instead left them to his trusted droid servant ProXe. The droid of an unknown advanced build was mostly responsible for their physical training. Many students believed that the aging Jedi Master had probably lost the taste for combat.

ProXe had been instructed by Master Kran personally of course. If a droid could be distracted though this afternoon he would be. Another glitch had appeared this morning. A failure to record memory for 90 seconds. Eren Light had the theory that his system had not rebooted for too long. The procedure of extracting his memory to reboot him without killing his current personality was nothing anybody on Elyseum could do though. Frustrated by a problem the force provided little guidance for the Jedi Master had ordered ProXe to observe the situation and protocol any occurrences.

Now he was fully functional and ready to begin his sparring session with the young Jedi Apprentice.

Tag: @The Jedi in the Pumas, @greyjedi125

Aboard the Demeter , approaching Elyseum

The Nubian freighter was ancient and probably been overhauled so often not one original part remained. Yet it had been quite an affordable transport as the Duros captain Ren Trok had been happy to be booked at all as Corsin had many good Captains and he was way beyond the retirement age.

Affordable was good, as none of the passengers was exactly wealthy.

There was Zari Callisto, a fragile woman who was sitting most of the time when she was not telling her son Janis how important it was he got accepted as a Jedi learner. That was what she called it. Not a Padawan, or even Apprentice. The other passenger could easily tell the woman had not much knowledge of Jedi.

Sy Isky knew quite a bit about Jedi of course, also he probably did not look the part. Janis would feel something about him he rarely felt around people. A presence in the force people called it.

Sy in return would hardly be able not to recognize the kid was strong in the force. He was basically sweating it. Probably even exceptionally strong.

    Kira Romar
    Jedi Enclave Garden

The day was hot, but probably even under the twin suns of Tatooine Varik would have cooled down. His temper was near the melting point. He was so eager, so absolutely over-motivated yet so full of energy and need for adventure. If it was for Kira she would have liked to stay here forever with Master Kran and attend to the gardens or help him train students. She had been here since she was at a young age and her mother had given her to Kran. She often wondered why? Many Romar had become smugglers despite their obvious strength in the force. Master Kran had reminded her very often that it was not the past a Jedi should dwell in, especially not over questions to which there would be no answers.

"Someone needs to explain him he is not helping himself, hm?" She asked Li who stood next to her and then stood up. Stepping into the circle that was used for outside sparring sessions she looked at Varik. She had a little crush on him with his cute black hair and reckless behavior. She was self-reflected enough to know she did not exactly have a huge choice of males around her. The creepy guy from Haruun Kal, the loner with the blue hair and the aristocrat. Oh yeah there was a kid, too.

"You really wanna do this?" She asked the other Jedi and reached out with the force grabbing the second training saber from his hand and igniting it the moment her hand closed around it.

Many of the others had their own lightsabers by now, so she appreciated the chance to train with one even if it was just a training model.

"Okay, I know you are better than me so don't be too hard on me alright?" Kira brought the saber up into her fighting stance and breathed in. Giving herself to the force she awaited Varik to attack. She knew he was eager to win and the reason why she had picked up the fight was he would not have to go too hard on her to do so.

    Janis Callisto
    Aboard the Demeter

He was leaving Corsin for the first time in his life and he hated everything about it. He hated how hard the journey was for his mother, he hated how this old ship stank worse than it's owner and he hated most he would probably not return.

Janis knew little about the Jedi, but he knew the ancient warrior order owned it's members in many ways.

What he hated most of it all was he would have to leave his mother alone. The last thing in the galaxy he wanted was for her to be alone when her illness got worse.

The other passenger had got his attention though. Not many people were like him. Not many people felt like him. He had a presence. It was as if Janis could feel his existence. That was probably the Force. Whatever the force was.

His mother was napping and he could not close an eye while being on the ship so we casually walked over to the man.

"You are a Jedi, right? Imagined they all were wearing robes. May I ask you a question, Sir? My name is Janis and my mother wants to bring me to this academy."

    Sy Isky
    Demeter

Sy hissed as he brushed his slightly bruised jaw against the headrest. An altercation with a bar parton the night before over a game of Sabacc. It wasn't Sy fault the man's mind was an open book. Was it unfair that the former apprentice was using his powers to enrich himself, maybe a little. But he needed the credits. After getting out of prison, he didn't even have two coins to rub together, much less enough for even the cheapest transport to Elyseum. And he needed to get to Elyseum.

His former academy was now the safest place for him. Over the 16 years he was away from the loving embrace of Master Kran, Sy had made some enemies. Said enemies had put a bounty out on him and he needed to get somewhere they wouldn't find him. And under the skirts of his former master seemed like the best place. Not even seasoned bounty hunters would tangle with a Jedi Academy, even a small one.

The plan seemed sound enough, not that Sy plans ever went smooth or worked out at all.

Looking around the ship he could see that while it had once been the height of luxury it was now fading in glory. Rebuilt and redone so many times it was likely that not a single original part remained...Did that still make it the same ship that left the ship yards or a different ship?

He shook his head, questions like that were best left to the old man.

Closing his eyes let his mind wonder a little, trying to ignore the aches from his hands, reddened by the punches he threw. Sy Isky wasn't going to go down easy, he would go down swinging. As he reached out he felt the presence of another strong in the force. A boy traveling with his ill mother. The mother made mention of him becoming a Jedi Learner. The misuse of terminology had irked Sy, but it wasn't his place to correct her. It wasn't like he was wearing robes with a lightsaber at his side...Not that she would recognize it.

But, from what Sy could sense the boy could be a strong Jedi, the force pooled around him, radiated from him in waves. There was much promise in him...Just like there was in Sy. If anyone could help this kid it was Master Kran, though the kid would have to want it too. Kran wouldn't accept half effort.

He never did with Sy, then again he was the only master that was willing to put in the work to make the miralan care, to want to be a jedi.

Sometimes in quiet moments Sy wonders want could have been...What he would be now if he hadn't screwed up so badly...

"You are a Jedi, right?" The boy asked snapping the former apprentice out of his reminiscing, "Imagined they all were wearing robes. May I ask you a question, Sir? My name is Janis and my mother wants to bring me to this academy."

"Um well, I'm not a Jedi per-say." Sy explained trying to put his thoughts together, "but I mean you can ask, sure kid. Not sure how much help I will be..." He really wasn't prepared for this but, Sy wasn't about to turn the Janis away. He could sense an unease about him. The boy could use some support, or at least a listening ear. The failure would do his best to listen.

    Aboard the Demeter

Janis gave the man an insecure smile. Not a Jedi per-se? What did that mean? Where there half-Jedi? That was at least a little hope. He breathed in gathering all the bravery he could muster. He was not afraid of the man. He was afraid of his answers.

„I do not know a great deal about Jedi, but someone once told me the order becomes their family. So what about their parents? Are they allowed to see them?“ He bit his lip, as he revealed his greatest fear to a stranger, but he needed to get every bit information he could get. „I also heard they have great healing powers? You think if I become a Jedi I could heal my mum? She is very ill.“

He looked to the floor. „I am Janis, by the way.“

    Pro-XE
    Training Room, Jedi Enclave, Elyseum

The Advance Combat Training Droid had arrived ahead of the Jedi Apprentice he was supposed to evaluate, as instructed by Jedi Master Kran.
That Jedi apprentice being, Akeem’nun’Bestat, heir presumptive of the Bestat Royal Family of Haruun Kal.

["That's a bit much."] The droid commented.

No one else was within the spacious Training Room, which visually made it seem larger than it really was.

Pro-XE busied himself, as he arranged two blue bladed training lightsabers and several training remotes neatly on a nearby table, making ready to receive his student.

[“Should I address him as Prince Akeem?”] The training droid queried aloud. [“Sire seems to work most of the time.”] He noted to himself. [“Sir. That sounds best.”] He decided.

Within himself, Pro-XE refreshed all standard data concerning Jedi Combat Forms and related files, then ran a self-diagnostic once again, just to make sure he was running at capacity without any glitches. The morning’s incident had been all too embarrassing. A full 90 seconds? Unacceptable. Too bad he could not recall any of it. ["I really need to have that seen."]

A sound caught his audio receptors, which caused him to turn fully. It sounded as if his guest was just arriving.

    Akeem'nun'Bestat
    Training Room

The room was spacious, but like much of the rest of the enclave, not very extravagant. It didn't need to be, it would do, Akeem thought to himself. Mother would hate it here. The thought made him smile.

This evaluation made sense. Akeem had only ever trained with actual blades and he has surmised from his reading that while some of the training carried over, the toughest thing to get used to would be the almost weightlessness of a lightsaber. He approached the table and took off his robe, shirt, and belt.

"Afternoon, Pro-XE-oyo." Akeem bowed to the droid. He picked up a training saber and balanced it with his hand a bit.

    "Where do we begin?"

    Training Room

["Good day, sir. You look well".]

The droid said bowing back in response, pleased that his wording carried a proper balance of respect and familiarity. After righting himself, the droid, had he any capability of showing surprise, would have done so. As it was, it only seemed that he had merely paused.

["Sir, I strongly suggest for you to be careful before you ignite that weapon. It is extremely dangerous for those who are untrained."]

Pro-XE watched Akeem carefully, immediately beginning his evaluation.

["Please, tell me. Have you ever used a lightsaber before?"] He queried.

Akeem shook his head. “No. I have not. It feels different. But...”

His mind flashed back to when he had first held a blade. The sensation was vivid. Now it was that, but only a hilt.

“But-oyo, I am confident I can adapt quickly.”

    IC: Arek Graul
    Training Grounds, Garden, Jedi Academy

As was his usual custom, Arek stood along the edge of the field and opted to observe rather than participate in the proceedings. Not only did these exercises make him feel awkward – he never saw himself as an exceptional athlete – but he found that he could learn more by simply watching the others interact in various activities. He found it calming, perhaps even enlightening.

But of course, there were always exceptions.

On this particular afternoon, it didn’t take long for Varik to fall into his typical routine. As one of the senior apprentices, he was eager to progress to the next level and find his place among the Jedi. Arek could certainly relate to that, though that was where the similarities ended. Unlike his own path, Varik had allowed his ego to take control, and he now viewed himself as being above the others. It was both infuriating and obnoxious.

This behavior continued as he pulled two training lightsabers from his robes and taunted the others. He wanted someone to duel him, despite the rules saying such an action was forbidden without Master Kran or the droid present to oversee their progress.

    This would not end well.

Inhaling deeply, Arek crossed his arms over his chest and cast a sideways glance at Elysa, who was standing beside him. He did not need to reach out with the Force to convey his disapproval; she would be able to see that clearly through his expression. Perhaps he was even looking for a bit of back-up for what he was about to do – especially when Kira Romar accelerated things by accepting Varik’s challenge. There were some things he just couldn't let go.

    “Hey, take it easy, alright?”
Arek called as he stepped forward a few paces. “You both know what will happen if the Master caught on.” Pressing his lips together, he then angled his chin and glared pointedly at Varik. “Do you really want to blow this opportunity now? When you’re so close? C’mon…”

"You told me." Sy smiled trying to put the young man at ease. He could feel the nervous energy wash off the boy. His fear and love was clear, his mother. The former apprentice looked to the frail woman in the corner, it looked like she needed all the help she could get. "While it is true that your classmates become your family, that doesn't mean you can't visit your birth family. I'm sure that Master Kran would allow that...out of compassion if nothing else." Sy said all this knowing his old master was a stern teacher, and a demanding one. But even that old curmudgeon had a heart. "As to healing, you got it about right." He was leaning hard on the half remembered history lessons told to him by his previous masters. "It was said that the Great Rey Skywalker could heal grievous wounds in seconds, and even bring back the dead." He left off the more fanciful tales like that she could fly, and stop an army with a single word. The boy needed hope not stories. "In the Old Old Republic there were Jedi Healers that aided those that were sick, and injured." Not that Sy was any good at healing, never had the patience. Though it was possible that Master Kran knew of someone.

"I'm Sy…" He held out his hand for a shake, the bruised knuckles apparent on his green skin. "Good to meet you Janis."

    Elysa Tarn
    Garden of the Jedi Academy

Elysa watched Varik looking for trouble. What did he think? Stealing the training sabers would get him any closer to actually getting appointed a master? Did he not see that Master Kran saw something in him not ready or he would be on his way already?

Kira Romar picked up the offer of course. She was still behind in her development and needed practice wherever she could get it. Elysa secretly despised the young woman. There was something in her humbleness that was so calm and Jedi-like it was almost arrogance. All the others had ambition. They had traditions of families and planets that bound them. Kira was just a damned blank paper.

"I think he was looking for a challenge, Kira." Elysa mocked her and stood back, stepping next to Arek.

"Varik probably needs to fail to succeed. Let him learn his lesson. He is not going anywhere soon, I guess. Which might put you or Li to the front runner position I guess." She knew she wasn't going to leave too soon. She had not even constructed her own weapon and had just arrived a year ago.

Hot, Garden of the Jedi Academy

Having not quite ever gotten used to Jedi robes, Li smiled at Kira through his discomfort. She was so confident and good natured - it was hard not to smile back, not that he was really inclined to not anyway. Arek, of course, was a worrywart, but a cute one, and his concern only made him more adorable. Li flashed him a grin of his own even as Elysa mocked Kira.

    Oh, she wouldn't like that.

"He has a death wish, I'd say, Kira." Varik was older than most of the others, and he took every opportunity to reference it, though he usually deferred to Li. I mean, sparring right now wasn't a good idea, but it was a fun one.

But Elysa had a point about him being front runner. A surge of anxiety filled him; did he want that? He was progressing steadily, not incredibly, just softly. He wasn't a prodigy and he liked that. Too much pressure if you were the child of a Force powerful line, like Kira, or a political one, like Arek was rumoured to be.

"If you want a go, Elysa, you should have one," Li tugged his hair free of his hood as he stood, shrugging, letting his silver-bladed training saber hang loose on his belt if she wanted to tug at it. "It's only Varik."

He said that part to annoy Varik, but also to nudge Elysa. Rumours about her were tragic, and he felt responsible for the entire class as the eldest.

Which is also why he took a step towards Silo Best, as the youngest here, just in-case things turned messy.

    It was Varik.

    Pro-XE
    Training Room

There was a pause as the droid considered a response, which was in fact, only an imitation of human behavior. Pro-XE had made a conclusive determination in less than 1000th of a second.

[“You will begin basic spatial and sensitivity training, which consists of basic movements designed to familiarize you with the use of a lightsaber. I shall guide you through basic movements: forward, horizontal and vertical, from a ready stance. Please follow as directed.]

There was a flicker of bluish light, and in a wink, Pro-XE’s form changed to a perfect replica of Akeem. The droid took the remaining training lightsaber and stood next to the padawan.

“Take a ready stance, like so-oyo”

Suddenly his voice, manner of speaking an movements mimicked Akeen’s with unerring accuracy.

Pro-Akeem placed his right foot forward and his left back, balancing his weight, then took the training lightsaber, indicated the blade emitter and pointed it forward while holding the hilt with both hands at we waist height.

“Once you are ready, then ignite."

The droid indicated the blade ignition switch before activation. As expected, the brilliant blue blade sprang to life with a snap-hiss. Thankfully, training lightsabers were set to a much lower power setting than the standard weapon, with good reason. Despite this, they were still dangerous. The droid went ahead and showcased the movements he desired the padawan to mimic

"Stab forward, block high, slash left, block low, back to guard. Got it?”

Varik smirked as Kira took the saber from his hands and allowed his own blue training blade to rotate a few times in the air. He ignored both Elysa and Arek's comments about this being a mistake, but when Li said it was "only Varik" his gaze turned to him in anger and just as Kira might expect a reply he used the distraction to attack. His blade whirled through the air as he launched a wild attack which one could have called ... angry.

"Something is wrong." Silo mumbled as Li came closer to him. The Jedi apprentices not sparring all felt this sudden heaviness in the young man's presence. Also none of them felt any reason for concern it was clear that Silo was more than concerned. He felt out of a sudden frightened.

Looking up to Li he frowned even though it was unbareably hot. "Something is very wrong!" He said than with a clearer voice.

Janis smiled as he heard the Jedi Masters would allow him to see his mom, but when Sy talked about healing it really got his attention. He would do anything to save his mum. If it meant becoming the greatest Jedi of all time, he would hesitate a second to do so.

He took the man‘s hand and shook it. „So what are you doing there? You do not look like you need any training anymore.“
