    Elysa Tarn
    Garden of the Jedi Academy

    Elysa wondered if Kira wanted to be expelled from the Academy actually. First she gave in to anger to hurt Varik in a match that was against house rules and now she challenged the Masters lesson?

    Obviously she had a point. The Dark Side might exist in every one of them, in every negative emotion ... but when Jedi were fighting darkness they usually meant the guys in black robes, did they? Those were now part of history lessons. A Jedi who had lost his path occasionally, but not a movement. Not the Sith.

    "We can hardly be sure of that, Romar. The last time the Sith destroyed our order they stayed in hiding for decades." Elysa turned to the Master. "I understand it. We are defenders, we must stay strong and fight the Dark Side within us, within the Jedi Order and if we must in whatever shape they take to return."

    Akeem'nun'Bestat
    Training Room

    Akeem held the saber lock as ProXE took on a new form. He furrowed his brow as he pushed back against the increasing strength of the new ProXE before he spun away from the engagement and circled ProXE while bouncing on his feet. Akeem knew this person. It was of Kylo Ren: Legendary Sith Lord of the First Order. An interesting form to take seeing as there were no more "Dark Lords" in the galaxy. It was meant to surprise Akeem and catch him off guard, clearly. But it did nothing of the sort. It didn't matter who he crossed blades with, he was taught to treat every opponent with respect and show them no kindness.

    His bounce came to a stop and he never let his gaze leave the new ProXE.

    "The opponent matters not, ProXE-oyo. I was taught that each and every fight presents a new obstacle to be overcome."

    He was light on his feet again and he sprung forward to engage ProXE again. Twirling the blade of his head, he spun to his right and slashed the blade at ProXE's legs. He wouldn't overpower his droid teacher, but he would unleash a torrent of his spinning and agile slashes to show what he was capable of.

    Gardens, then landing pad, Jedi Academy

    Arek found the Master in short order, but before he could explain the reason for this intervention, the old man revealed that he had already felt Silo’s vision. He had even known about Varik and Kira’s impulsive behavior on the training field. None of it came as a surprise, and Arek had to smile in spite of himself.

    But the real shocker came when Master Kran asked him to walk with him through the spacious gardens.

    Taking a moment to catch his breath after his exertion, Arek dutifully followed along at a leisurely pace. The Master started by explaining that he was to meet a ship that would be arriving shortly. There were three occupants on board the vessel – a fearful boy, his ill mother, and another whom the Master referred to as an old friend. Arek had to assume that they were new recruits; he could certainly relate to the boy’s fear when he had first arrived at Elyseum all those years ago. In fact, he was almost envious to learn that they had permitted the mother to travel with him. That was one of Arek’s greatest regrets, but now was not the time to dwell on past mistakes. He had a job to do.

    Arek had only just acknowledged the orders to escort the visitors to the main training ground when Master Kran dropped the bombshell – he had attracted a Master and it was time for him to ascend to the next level. Jedi Knight Doran Thain. The name did not sound familiar to him, though that hardly mattered at this moment. He was beyond elated by the news, prompting a goofy grin to spread over his features.

    “I don’t--uh, I mean…” he stammered and stepped back to run his hand through his hair. “I’m honored, sir, thank you. I accept the challenge. I’m eager to begin this next step on my journey.” He offered a small bow to express his appreciation. “I won’t let you down.”

    * * *

    The aging Nubian transport arrived at the landing pad a short time later. With his hand pressed against his brow to shield his eyes from the piercing sun, Arek squinted up into the sky to watch the old vessel settle down on the rough turf. A low, whining drone emitted from the repulsors as she maneuvered into place, and for a terrifying second, he had to wonder if she would even survive the landing.

    Fortunately, the moment passed without incident, and the transport soon settled down on her landing struts with a solid thud.

    As the strong backdraft washed over him, Arek inhaled deeply and approached the landing ramp to greet their new visitors.

    Tanee Bolyn
    The Clearing near the Academy

    Tanee liked the quietness, as she slowly spun her staff. Most of the students didn't bother her, and she liked that. It allowed her to listen and stretch out in the Force to her surroundings. Here, within the grounds, she used the Force, to stretch out and investigate her surroundings.

    The small faithful droid floated nearby, as she performed some saber moves with her staff. This part still felt the same. Both the staff and her saber felt the same in her hands. She moved gracefully, repaying the moves of the exercise in her mind, relaxing in its familiarity.

    Suddenly, Tanee whirled about, her staff held upright. The soft hum of the droid had suddenly stopped, and even as she scanned the area around her, she felt nothing. She frowned, underneath her bandages.

    A voice.

    "Don't be scared. I have turned him off. I mean you no harm." The voice was male and came from straight ahead. Tanee gracefully moved into a ready neutral stance, as she kept the staff in front of her. The voice continued.

    "How long have you been without sight? I'd guess a training saber put to the highest level?" The voice was calm. "My name is Canus."

    Still, she felt nothing in the Force. How strange. "You are close, Canus." Tanee replied slowly. "I was struck by a saber at full strength," she replied, giving a sad grin. "Not exactly something a training sable can handle." She replied as Tanee attempted to use the rest of her senses to locate him. She tilted her head slightly.

    "Is there a reason you have come here?" she asked the mysterious figure, as she reached out with her senses and the Force. But instead of trying to focus on him, she focused on the area around herself.

    The Caves near the Academy

    Feeling the change in light levels had been the routine here, when it was brighter and the light was from a nearer sun it was day. He lived in a less comfortable part of the cave so that the light would come in a bit too brightly so he wouldn't miss the rising of the sun. Feel it to know that it was morning. Slowly, deliberately he pulled himself together, back into a bipedal form and began the arduous journey to the Academy. The walking was not so bad, it was arbitrary schedule. Setting numbers and reason to a time schedule to make the most of a segmented rotational cycle and spin of the planet based merely on this planets travel around the sun set to an arbitrary year. Something which in and of itself was not the same from a day to the next no matter how many numbers they assigned it, thus he had learned of something called 'leap days' where they imagine a new day into the set year every so often just to make their arbitrary numbers balance.

    If not for the short life-span of the Jedi Master and his students he doubted very much that the system of measurements they used would be used. Yet, Master Kran had accepted Trrff when many others had found him to alien and the Master had even allowed him to set himself up in the nearby caves instead of the unbearable confines of the academy. Where the nutrients were packaged and the light was kept high and artificial. So for every give with these short lives there was a take, theirs was the daily walk to the academy, where soon the lessons would begin. Trrff was not the best student compared to others, but he did not rush. He took his time learning everything he was taught, trying them in his mind more often and perhaps it was naturally he progressed slowly compared to "faster" lifeforms.

    Stepping through the woods, between the mighty trees and trotting on the bodies of his biological cousins that grew between and connected the plants in their own give and take of life. It was a noisy time, yet, he felt watched. A vibration not felt in his body told him that, the scent of flesh lingered. Not of worm or the other small burrowing creatures. Something else was there. Something else was watching.

    Stepping around larger tree he felt the moment the line of sight was broken and flattened himself to the tree. Like the moss growing on the least sunny side he spread himself up as his caps settled with the tree as a backing. He was in no rush to discover whom was watching him. He would wait, listen to what they did, react in his own time. Although he wondered if this would make him late today? So a short time then, before he pulled himself together again. Hopefully he would perceive what that was correctly.

    Janis
    Arriving on Elyseum aboard the Demeter

    The landing was indeed a little rough and the dampeners were definitely not entirely okay. But his mother tried not to show the pain and moaned silently with her head turned away from him. She did not wanted him to worry.

    As they finally had set down he carefully took his belt of and then hers. „We’re here and we actually made it down here alive. Did we?“ With a smile to Sy he helped his mother to the ramp which slowly lowered. Down there stood a young man with a lightsaber hanging down his belt and next to him something that looked like a pretty advanced medical droid. Giving Sy a last appreciating nod he walked down the ramp.

    „I am Janis Callisto and this is my Mom, I think she needs medical attention.“ He only now realized they had never told anyone on Elyseum they would come, let alone that they were about to bring someone in need of medical care. The Jedi had probably known otherwise. „My mother sends me here because she thinks I should train as a Jedi.“ He added then.

    Sy Isky
    Arriving

    Sy gave a faltering smile as Demeter rattled and shook. A worried look came over him as he saw Janis's mother take a few bumps and start to slump a little. The kid said he could tell when bad things happened, did it warn him about his mom being jostled around? Sy didn't have precognition, or if he did he never listened to it. Taking a breath tried to calm himself. It wasn't so much the rough landing...he had more than a few when he tried his hand at smuggling, no it was coming face to face with Master Kran. A man Sy respected, or used to before being sent away. The cold look in the old man's eyes still haunted him. The master never go angry, he just got cold. An icy glare that could freeze your blood in your veins. Sy didn't know if he was ready to face that again.

    When they landed the former apprentice knew that it was time to face the music. As he got up he moved to help Janis with his mother, but it seemed the boy had it under control.

    "Sy Isky." The Miralan introduced himself to the young man that came out to greet the new arrivals. "I'd like to speak with Master Kran if he has a moment."

    The Clearing near the Academy

    The Man hesitated a moment. "I only perceived the training saber, I see. So it was yours ..." He finally said.

    Tanee felt the world around here. Life. Connected in infinite ways through the force. Yet, it felt very quiet. Very reduced in a way. As if the force itself was silenced.

    "Do you believe any of us is ever anywhere, without there being a reason? If so Master Kran needs to teach you more about the ways of the force really. There is a reason why I am here, there is a reason why you are blind and there is a reason why we meet. There has to be. The reason is probably the force wanted us to meet. Or as the normal people would say ... it was meant to happen."

    Canos stepped forward and was now an arms length away from her.

    Ryze Hayden
    The Caves near the Academy

    Ryze had been tailing a strange and exotic creature for a time, after seeing it with a group of sentient beings. It had been years since Ryze had made such contact with such people, and he didn't want to be seen just yet. The years of his life spent in the wilds of this planet had taught him how to hide and hunt within the woods. The creature had walked for sometime seemingly not bothered or having noticed Ryze, but then, it moved behind a tree, and was out of sight. He waited a moment, to see if it would come back out. Nothing.

    It's hiding from me.

    Ryze silently took his old and modded rifle from his back, prepping it in case this creature intended to harm him. He took a rock from the ground, and tossed it to cause a distraction, seeing if this would gain a reaction.

    Pro-XE
    Training Room

    There was no sudden spike in the student’s heart beat, no flare of emotion, no anger, no fear. No wide-eyed look, no change in the timber of his voice. Just presence of mind, mental focus and determination.

    Akeem had not been taken by surprise by Pro-XE’s transformation into Kylo Ren; albeit at a point where the would-be-Dark Lord had not finished his own training. The Prince reacted wisely when their difference in strength became apparent, thanks to his own early training.

    In the moment, the young padawan gathered his resolve and attacked his opponent, slashing at the dark figure’s legs.

    As expected, Pro-Ren brought down his red lightsaber in time to block the slash. He opened his mouth to taunt the jedi, and in an instant, found himself assaulted by a series of spinning flurries and agile slashes that quickly overwhelm him. At this point in his training, Kylo was strong, but was not bless with the speed which Akeem possessed, both naturally and through training.

    As it was, Kylo only managed to block critical hits against him, but not much else.

    [Form I: Shii-Cho compatibility detected. Form II: Makashi compatibility detected.]

    [“I yield!”] Kylo cried out as he knelt on the floor, lightsaber raised to block what strikes he could fend-off. Singe marks sizzled and glowed, leaving smoking trails on various places across his arms and torso, evidence of the assault he'd been under.

    During the pause that ensued, the droid's size shrank, the blade color turned back to blue and Pro-XE was back to his original form.

    [“Congratulations, Sir.”] He said as he rose, extinguishing his training saber and sounding like his normal self. [“You have performed well.”] The droid announced. He then extended his free hand, requesting the padawan’s borrowed weapon, now that the exercise was over.

    [“Master Kran is expecting us in the garden, let’s not keep him waiting. Aside from that, how are you feeling?”]

    Pro-XE queried cheerfully.

    The Garden, Jedi Enclave

    "There are no simple solutions when it comes to the Dark Side and if it has shown anything it is that it can be unpredictable. Eternal vigilance is therefore our greatest weapon. But remember Kira, many of the greatest followers of the Dark Side were fallen Jedi. There are still Jedi in the galaxy. Some make mistakes." He looked at Kira and then Varik. "Some watch them without intervening." His gaze went to Li and finally Eliza.

    "My apologies, Master. I took the sabers and I provoked Kira. It was my wrong-doing." Varik finally got to his feet and looked down.

    "I never had a shadow of doubt about that Varik. Only I will decide when an apprentice is ready and only I will decide how this will be measured and tested." He breathed in heavy.

    "So what do you think the force has revealed to us by sending Silo this vision?" Master Kran asked and looked at all five apprentices.

    "That there is something wrong with those new arrivals." Varik said immediately.

    Kran gave him a long look. His gaze wandered to Elysa, Kira and Li.

    Then he turned to the two new arrivals. Akeem and Proxy knew probably little about what happened, but obviously the atmosphere was unusual tense. A gesture signaled Akeem to join his colleagues as Master Kran awaited answers.

    "Please ProXe go look for Tanee." Kran turned back to the six apprentices present now. Varik had voiced his opinion and the young Silo had already admitted he had no clue. Akeem had just arrived, which meant the question was for the still ashamed Kira, Li and Elysa to answer.

    "Everybody agrees?" Master Kran asked.

    The Caves near the Academy

    From his place of concealment he felt the vibrations as a stone disturbed the air prior to bouncing off the ground. Intelligent? Well, how could he ignore such an invitation. Well actually he could most easily, but if he did he was sure he would be late. Perhaps he should break down and take one of those computer things to tell time? Because he really couldn't tell if this was making him late or not. Better to get it over with then.

    Regrouping his form he stepped back out from behind the tree. There it was, the eyes, wet like a dripping stalagmite upon his form. Sadly as he was behind the tree he was not exactly sure where the eyes were and so turned a bit this way and that. Pointing down he grew his arm out, patting the ground to find where the stone stopped to pick up the scent. If this turned out to be one of those annoying birds sitting in a tree again he would never hear the end of it. Chasing people that were animals to have a chat was not a proper look for a dignified fungi.

    Wait, there it was. No, that was not the smell of bird. It was muddled, but. . .under the forest heavy scent there was a lighter tone of. . .human? Pulling back his arm he shifted on his feet. "Greetings. As you throw stones as lures do you wish to speak or shoot me?" He simply called out, curious as to the answer.

    "No, I think it is not the passengers. They are connected to something. Maybe they are followed?" Kira imagined refugees from something dark. Maybe she had been wrong. Maybe the Dark Side had returned in one shape or another.

    Tanee Bolyn
    The Clearing near the Academy

    Tanee listed as the man waited a moment to respond. "I only perceived the training saber, I see. So it was yours ..." He finally said. Tanee slowly nodded, not feeling the need to supply any more information. And as she spoke to the man, she realized that the Force had suddenly gotten even quieter. It almost reminded her of how she felt when she had first been blinded. She shifted her stance slightly, her hands tightened slightly around her staff. Canos continued to speak.

    Tanee face went neutral, as she listened to his words. A reason that she was blind? Sure, there was a reason. And it had a name. To even suggest that the Force had something to do with that as if some divine reason annoyed her. It was a fallback and very pathetic response which felt hollow in her ears. A term when one could not come up with a better reason. And what did he mean by, 'as the normal people would say?' Was she sprouting antlers now? Gifted, perhaps. Talented, maybe. But to suggest that she was not normal...

    Canos stepped forward and Tanee felt that her personal space bubble had just been violated. While she could not feel him directly, she could feel the area around herself, and it suddenly felt different. She took a step back, frowning slightly.

    "The Force wanted us to meet?" Tanee stated flatly. "If it was simply the Force's will, then it has been accomplished. We have met. Now please return my droid, unless there is another task that the Force feels needs to be completed."
    The staff moved to her side.

    Pro-XE
    Elyseum, Jedi Academy grounds

    At a glance, it seemed that most of the students were gathered in the garden, but Pro-XE could tell by their body language and strained voices that something had occurred.

    Master Kran’s vitals always read the same, but the others registered differing levels of agitation. This was true for Varik, Silo, Kira, and Elysa. The droid wasn't prompted to comment and simply updated his daily files as he normally would.

    More to the point, Jedi Padawan Akeem’nun’Bestat was delivered as requested. However, Master Kran did not immediately inquire about the young Prince’s training results, but instead instructed Pro-XE to gather another student.

    "Please ProXe go look for Tanee."

    [“At once, Master Kran.”]

    Without a moment’s delay, Pro-XE did an about face and marched himself out of the garden.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Truth be told, it was common knowledge that the reclusive girl preferred the solitude near the clearing adjacent to the Academy. Not only that, tracing DeDe’s signal was the quickest way to find Tanee, seeing how the little droid was always by her side. Except, DeDe didn’t seem to be transmitting any signal at the moment.
    Most curious.
    Pro-XE opened a query and set a continuous search for the diminutive fellow. It was possible that it had malfunctioned, but now there was only one way to find out.
    It didn’t take long before Pro-XE approached the clearing itself, needing only to come around the bend before he came upon the blinded girl. From what he perceived, it sounded like she wasn’t alone.
    [“Pardon me, I hope I’m not interrupting.”] He called out before actually showing himself. Pro-XE already knew to announce himself prior to coming into the young girl’s presence.
    Elysa waited until they all had spoken and only then gave her own opinion.
    "The vision made us aware of a dark presence in their past, present or future. It was a warning. The Dark Side has become active in one way or another." She thought about it for a moment. "The force revealed a Darksider. It made us aware of him."
    "Of course there is. But you still got until the evening to find out why we were meant to meet ..." The Man said and his voice now had an almost regretful sound. "The force is a machine that never stops spinning and you can deny or doubt it and you can even fight it, the wheels and cogs in the machine keep on spinning. It is not your ally. It is your remorseless Master." He whispered these words, yet also he had to be close she felt no breath.
    There was a disturbance, a ripple in the force.
    Then he was gone. The force returned to it's natural state as if nobody had been there at all. It was hard to say if she had not dreamt, actually.
    "Pardon me, I hope I am not interrupting." It was ProXe's voice. The Masters very advanced training droid. Without a doubt Master Kran would have send him. DeDe happily peeped as he was approaching them. There seemed to be no awareness he had been turned off. Yet, as ProXe turned around a tree to the clearing there was only the blind girl, standing in the midst of it. ProXe was actually not entirely sure there had been a second voice. Had she talked to herself?
    For Tanee there was not a picture as clear as this, as she felt her environment and even as everything went to normal as if the visitor called Canos had never been there ... it wasn't. There was an echo, subtle but there and she was pretty certain only she was aware of it. Usually people did not have this kind of echo. DeDe peeped happily and eagerly to leave the clearing.
    He was still shocked that Arek was leaving so soon, and examining his upset over it. An attachment? That wasn't good. Li strove to dispel the notion, and resolved to speak to Arek before he departed. A week was plenty of time. It would be impetuous of him to excuse himself now... though Li wanted to, he found himself admitting.
    "So what do you think the force has revealed to us by sending Silo this vision?"
    Li realised he had not answered.
    "To be cautious," Li said, softly, and then focused. "It is not telling us to do something about it, for to do that would be to invite disaster, because it is often the case that our actions cause the events we seek to avoid, inadvertently. We must remain mindful of the Living Force, and ensure that we focus on finding a point to examine the matter. If we react rashly - we may be doomed."
    He recalled a half a dozen such instances from their lessons - the most infamous of which was Anakin Skywalker.
    Arek shifted uncomfortably as the passengers departed from the dilapidated vessel. He was never very good with pleasantries, but he saw this as his duty. Master Kran had asked him specifically to carry out this task, and he would not disappoint – especially now that he was so close to advancing to the next level as a Jedi Knight. Once again, that thought gave him a thrill.
    And so, as his visitors approached, Arek puffed out his chest and offered a warm smile in greeting. “Welcome to Elyseum” he announced after they introduced themselves as Janis and Sy. “I’m Arek. The Master sent me to receive you and to show you to the main compound.” Before he carried on, his blue eyes strayed toward Janis’ ailing mother. He noted right away that she appeared weak and feverish, but for the boy’s sake, he did not allow his concern to show on his face.
    “If you’ll allow me, Janis,” Arek waved his hand at the medical droid standing a few paces behind him, “I brought a medical droid along with me to tend to your mother’s care. His name is KA9, and she’ll be in good hands. Once we have everything squared away with admissions, you’ll be able to visit her whenever you like.” He gave the droid a short nod, signaling him to step forward.
    Arek then canted his head to regard Sy, his gaze wavering slightly when he realized that the other man was much older than himself. Surely, he couldn’t be a student? Still, he stood tall and acknowledged Sy’s request to speak with the Master. “Master Kran asked me to escort you to the training grounds, so you’ll be able to see him soon enough.”
    Without waiting for them to respond, he gestured toward the path leading back toward the facility. “If you’ll follow me…”
    Tanee Bolyn
    The Clearing near the Academy
    The man responded to her question. "Of course there is. But you still got until the evening to find out why we were meant to meet ..." Until the evening? What did he mean by that? And his voice caused an involuntary shiver to run up her back. The man continued.
    "The force is a machine that never stops spinning and you can deny or doubt it and you can even fight it, the wheels and cogs in the machine keep on spinning. It is not your ally. It is your remorseless Master."
    Tanee nearly jumped. He has whispered those words, but still, she felt - NOTHING. No Force, no breath, no ... anything. It was like standing next to a ghost.
    And there was a disturbance, a ripple in the force. And Canos was gone.
    The Force blossomed around her once more, and the life of the planet was visible once more to her.
    "Pardon me, I hope I am not interrupting." Tanee turned to face the voice. It was ProXe's voice. That probably meant that Master Kran had sent for her. Nearby, DeDe happily peeped as he was approaching them. Once more, that strange feeling caused a slight rippling of uneasiness through her. She held out her hand, as she waited for DeDe. Her mind was spinning wildly. DeDe was acting normal, but he was not there a few moments ago. She felt as if she had stepped out of time for a moment. And even now, now that Canos was gone, but she still felt ... something.
    Like an echo, a subtle hint of something she had never ever felt before in her life. Usually, people did not have this kind of echo. At least, none living. Was he an old Force user? And why now, why here? He said that they were destined to meet. Why?
    DeDe peeped happily and eagerly to leave the clearing. It broke Tanee out of her mental thoughts. She 'looked' over at the ProXe'. "I take it, my presence has been requested?" Without waiting for a response, she headed for the main area of the school, biting her lip slightly as she walked. She desperately wanted to know what the droid saw if anything. But for now, she simply stayed silent, as she tried to figure out what the vision meant while still being haunted by his last words...
    "It is your remorseless Master."
    Janis
    Arriving on Elyseum
    Janis had helped his mom down the ramp and now smiled at her. He was proud she had taken this all upon herself to give him a better future, despite the truth all he wanted was to stay by her side in what he had long ago realized where her last months.
    „I think it is best you got with the droid. I will come to see you once I have spoken to this Master.“ He gave her into the capable hands of the medical droid and sighed. Then he looked around. A much more moderate climate planet than Corsin, with vegetation and sun and fresh air. Okay, if he was honest the planet was pretty nice. What was more concerning was this stiff and formal young man who greeted them. That was what Jedi looked like? He was not that impressed by what was by the common people described as powerful space magicians. With another sigh he nodded and smiled at the boy who called himself Arek.
    „Sure, I’ll be right behind you. Let us get this over with.“ He watched his mum slowly walk away and then tried not to worry about her, but concentrate on this moment and the challenge ahead. Get accepted and make his mom proud!
    Kira Romar
    Jedi Enclave Garden
    Kira gave Li's words some thought. He was right. Acting hastily on a vague vision like that and they might accelerate the events they tried to stop. What if they turned these arrivals down and they became what they feared most? What if they distrusted them and that was what lead to them distancing them from the Jedi Orders teachings.
    She gave Li a recognizing nod and smiled. He was wise, probably too wise for an apprentice. Arek was leaving, by she felt Li was not far behind. Only Varik seemed in so many ways not ready. She hoped she had not helped him bury his dream of becoming a Jedi. The Master was clearly disappointed and that he restrained his response just made things worse. She wanted to apologize, but felt it would sound hollow.
    "We probably should know more about the Dark Side." Kira finally said more to herself than the others, but also as a request to the Master for guidance.
    The Garden, Jedi Enclave
    "Very good Li." Master Kran nodded at the apprentice.
    "Indeed. There is a presence of the Dark Side and it only was revealed to the one of us who was least trained. Maybe because it has learned to hide from us. Silo was able to perceive it more clearly." Master Kran hesitated a moment. "Yet, we must be cautious. Carefully. We must learn more about it before we act."
    Tanee and ProXe arrived at the group and Master Kran waited patiently for her to sit down with the rest of them. Then Arek made his way to the training ground. With him where the two new arrivals. The boy and his old student. He signaled them to wait nearby and then watched as Arek as he joined the others, too. Only Trrff was missing and Master Kran was not too worried about that. Time was a difficult concept for his most exotic apprentice.
    "I will be with you after the lesson, honored guests." The boy was strong in the force, but it was Sy he was concerned about. A fallen student showing up accompanied by such a vision ... was alarming. He felt no darkness in him, though. Only nervousness of seeing his old Master again.
    Akeem had not spoken yet, but he had not witnessed the vision so that was little surprise. Once Tanee, Kira, Elysa, Arek, Li, Akeem, Varik and Silo were all sitting he reached out with the force, easily connecting with his apprentices. Tanee was disturbed by something, he could feel it. He needed to talk to her later.
    Finally Master Kran folded his hands behind his back, as he usually did when a lesson was about to begin. He gave ProXe a nod that usually meant he was to record what came now for later analysis.
    "Well, so today we shall talk about the Dark Side." His gaze went to Kira with an agreeing nod. He signaled the last of them still standing to sit with a firm nod.
    "So eagerly you thirst for knowledge, yet so little you know about it's true nature. That is to be expected, because the Dark Side is treacherous. Look at today's events: Violence, you used violence against each other today. You were celebrating the act of fighting. For a Jedi all life is sacred. Only if he is forced to take a life he will end it and always he should feel regret about it. Whenever the order went to war, it had only one consequence. The rise of the Dark Side! Wars give birth to suffering, suffering leads to fear and fear inevitably leads to anger and hate. The Dark Side of the Force feeds on these feelings and grows stronger. It corrupts every living thing and that includes young over-eager Jedi." Master Kran sighed. His eyes showed he knew what he talking about. "So how do we fight the Dark Side? With a lightsaber? If it comes to this, it is already a failure of the Jedi. So today's lesson: I wish you to imagine one of your peers has given in to curiosity and has begun to study the ancient teachings of the Dark Side. Of course you try to talk him out of it, but he refuses to leave his path and you sense pride and anger in him." Master Kran let his eyes wander from on student to the other.
    "You report him to the council and the council asks for your advise. What is your advise? Should he be exiled? Should he be allowed to continue so he might see the wrong of his own actions? Should he be confronted at the danger of violence? Should he be executed? Should he be imprisoned? Or should you join his cause to prevent him from diving too deep?" Master Kran shrugged. "Or is there another alternative?" He unfolded his hands and spread his arms in an inviting gesture.
    "Who wants to go first?" He asked and if this was a lesson or a test was intentionally left unclear.
    Ryze Hayden
    The Caves near the Academy
    Ryze would step out from behind the tree, rifle raised and aimed at Trrff. It spoke to him, and perhaps it could lead him to some sort of civilization.
    "I'm not looking for a fight... I am Ryze." he would calmly say, rifle still poised at the creature, waiting tensely for a reply.
    Akeem'nun'Bestat
    The Garden
    Akeem had missed whatever it was that the others were talking about, so he stayed silent. Visions, feeling things through the Force, the Dark Side... While he had studied and practiced with the Force since his youth, it was never in regards to such concepts. He had mainly used it to sense the intentions of others and for combat and recon. He had known there were other uses, but he had not experienced the Force in that way so he had no personal wisdom to speak at length about them. It had been something he had been honest about with Kren when he first arrived to the enclave.
    So when Kren posed to them a question on what to do if one of their peers started to research the Dark Side, Akeem had to draw on other experiences.
    When he was a boy and it was decided that his brother would be one to take the throne, Akeem was bestowed the honor of protecting their heir for the rest of his life. This meant that he had undergone the same combat and military training as any other initiate of the royal guard. So he had been around peers, mostly older, that had failed or used the things they had learn for their own personal greed and satisfaction. Some of them would murder with the skills they learn, out of anger, revenge. Many reasons. But to him, that didn't mean that the techniques they learned were bad. It was quite the opposite: initiates were encouraged to call upon their own experiences and anything else that might help them accomplish their mission.
    He rubbed his chin while he processed these thoughts.
    However, these Jedi weren't soldiers. And to them the Dark Side was like... well he guessed it was like if you were dueling someone and they threw sand in your eyes and pulled bystanders into it: it would help them win the fight, presumably, but the tactics revealed the lengths that they had allowed themselves go to as they put victory, or accomplishing their goal, above the safety of others. It was like the antithesis to the honor code that the Jedi had judged to follow.
    The young Prince stepped forward. "I will go first, Kren-oyus."
    He ran a hand along his cornrows while his offhand settled on his blade. He was thinking as he was speaking. "I would ask my peer what their motivations were. What the goal was they wanted to accomplish? If it was a goal that the Jedi teachings were not fit to aide my peer, he should be allowed to pursue it. Only he can be the judge of whether the path he is on is worth the lengths that the Dark Side will make him go." Akeem nodded. Yes. That's what he believed. "They should be allowed to pursue the teachings. My mother taught me that we are who we are and if my peer is the kind of person that would hurt others and spread akma(darkness), then they were always that person, whether they continued on the Jedi path or not."
