Just read this on the BBC Sport page

"Chelsea are not however London's top team as far as derby games are concerned. Arsenal lead that table with 20 points from seven (2.9 points per game), Chelsea have 12 points from five (2.4 points per game)."

Erm, can someone explain how you can get 20 points from 7 games please...

With Kanoute out for today, my first choice sub was Powell of Crystal Palace who scored him first goal and baged himself 7 points. So that gives me a total of 78 points.

Plus i'm hoping that Downing has a cracker and picks up some decent points, giving me a final score of 80+ points.

Not bad for a days work. Just hope that everyone else had a bad day, or scoring big is pretty meaningless.

P.S. I wouldn't too worried yet, you still have a lot of players that have yet to play.

Edit: I'm getting rid of Gerrard. Since I bought him he has scored an average of 3 points per game for me. For a ten million player, I expect a little better.

    This will not happen. ;)

EDIT: Yeah I know what you mean about Gerrard. I've been thinking about losing him for a while now, but am terrified of a sudden upturn in his performance if I do. [face_thinking]

Somehow and I don't have a clue how, Powell was my third choice sub?????

This is very strange considering that I made a big deal about noting that he scored six points in his first game back from injury last week and made a point of naming him as my first choice sub.

I don't understand how this happened?

Oh well, thats 7 points down the crapper for me then :(

    Holly Crap!

Jesus t***y ******g Christ! (Sorry, went to see Team America last night) :p

I never expected that to happen. Looks like things are looking up for Welshguy Rovers.

It was my goal to be up to 7th by Christmas. It may be a little late, but its better late than never.

I've made 62 points on you so far this month Everton! Is that the board of Directors I hear giving you a vote of condifence? ;)

    :D

I'm in the sh!t, from consistently 4th for awhile to 11th that's just crap but I've done some wheeling and dealing in the transfer market and Shearer is back from injury so I'm hoping to shoot up the table soon or major transfers may have to be made.

Not a bad days work overall. Still have two players to score and i've racked up quite a few nice earners thus far.

On an interesting side note though, Everton has dropped down to 9th and i'm up to 6th!! [face_laugh]

SithLordsUtd are starting to get a bit to cocky for their own good though. Something must be done quickly to quell this rable-rouser!

My cunning plan backfired. As 1st and 2nd place (me) have similar teams, and team 1 as Lampard as captain, I thought I'd change my Captain to Wright-Phillips as Chelsea won't score too many against Portsmouth, and Man City should trounce West Brom...... [face_plain]

I am actively considering some changes. I should be the one gloating... not you*.

I'm gonna keep Gerrard until the transfer window closes incase he moves to Chelsea... otherwise he's gone.

*You probably knows who you is. :p

I've suffered badly this week from having THREE players who did not play....

That has hit my points total badly, but there's still Todd of Blackburn left to play, so hopefully he'll start and pick me up some decent points.

Suffering from a string of injuries the manager of Team Stoozer was forced back into the transfer market (again) costing the team another 4 points.

However, looking at the team we are collectively optimistic.

    (GK)Kiraly

    (D)Hibbert, King, Brennan, Mellberg

    (M)Lampard, Duff, Wright-Phillips, Downing

    (F)Johnson + Hasselbaink

Hmmm, 60+ points this week, and I still have 2 Blackburn players to play.

    And I'm up to 8th :D

If only I'd started at gameweek 1, I'd surely be in the top 5

Yeah, well at least we've won the Premiership!

Thus far the only club outside of Man Utd and Arsenal to have done so. That has got to count for something?

But yeah, they are pretty awful.

I only hope that Mark hughes brings sanity back to Ewood Park and makes them a new team next season.

That's the key. He's gotta keep them in the Premiership (which he will), and then next season will be the real start of his reign... after he's had a summer to get rid of the players he doesn't want (not a luxury he can currently afford), and bring in those he does (Savage being the first). Hughes did a bang up job with Wales, he took that group of players to the very limit of their ability. No reason why, given time, he can't do the same thing with Blackburn. Not to blow my own trumpet, but look at what another young manager has acheived with Everton after a couple of years at the helm. He's taken a bunch of ordinary players and put them in contention for the Champion's League.
