You guys must get really annoyed having invented all these sports and then having the rest of the world kick your ass at them aye!

and they only call it test cricket, cos its a test to make sure ya don't fall asleep while watching! as bill bryson said and I quote "the english invented cricket to make watching grass grow seem fun and exciting"

I don't think we mind as much as you might think we might mind (how 'bout that for a sentence ) I reckon we find it more amusing than anything else, slightly bemusing perhaps!

As long as the Commonwealth doesn't start to thrash us consistently at football, we'll tolerate you guys beating us at our more eccentric sporting exports. Do well in the World Cup, however, and we'll grab our balls and go home!

 

Pardon my ignorance, but why do cricket-players wear all white?

I'd have blue milk and Tim Tams over tea and Chit Chat. Or Sushibeer and Oreos-the official snack of The Lightsiders.

 

I don't know huge amounts about cricket, but I think the white clothing is a mixture of tradition and being able to see a red ball (on a grey, overcast day in England ).

In some matches the teams do wear different colours, someone else will have to explain why. (test/non-test? ? )

While we're at it, could somebody tell me what a "test" match is, as opposed to any other kind.

 

Why play cricket at all? It's SOOOO boring!

white due to tradition i think its cause like at wimbledon you can only wear white.

And all the teams only seem to wear white over here (the uk) probably cause it is run by a load of old men who hate change.

also its called a test when the other team are good "its a test to their nerve" etc.

so thats why we never play NZ in a test

Its a test of your patience when ya find that all you're fav shows have been postponed due to 4-5 days of mind numbing cricket!!

As for the colours thing, I think that all started cos someone thought " **** its still really boring even if it is only a day long, maybe some colour would make it more interesting"
