Hammer and Yuul_Shamar: Welcome, Sirs! We're so glad you stopped by. [face_batting] Would you care for a cookie or nice cup of tea?

    *drops pitcher of tea*

Oops! So very sorry. [face_blush] I'm terribly clumsy. [face_shhh] Did it squish your fingers? No? Thank goodness! It would be a shame to bruise such talented typing hands... [face_batting]

    Er . . . does this mean:

    1) everyone writes with the same main character, or

    2) each participant uses their own character as the protagonist and others' characters in supporting roles, or

    3) something else entirely?

    Yuul: Watch that god-mode son!

    *Bullet zings by*

Lazy Fanficcy Writer: Barring any major objections from your Mod Team...

I'm going to say that means closer to B. :) Basically, I construe the line as "there must be one main character, with the ability for other supporting characters to interact with him/her."

The line is primarily intended to prevent entries about main groups of characters, as well as descriptive writings about planets or grass or whatever it is you people write about.

    :p

I run an RP website, but the RP forum here at the JC is a trap. [face_plain] I declare that the Fanficcers will own all.

That's okay, Trace. We don't need to understand their lingo to outwrite them. ;)

This really is a fantastic idea. :D For the Fanficcers, anyway. The RPers might regret it . . . [face_mischief]

Typo for, or variant of, "god-modding" - writing other players' actions for them without their input, hence, effectively, playing God.

See, RPers? See? WE KNOW YOUR SECRETS.

    -runs an RP website-

Yes, godmoding is quite irritating in-RP. I hate it when people do that. Metagaming is also irritating. I am not forgiving on that one. -wields forum roleplay admin hammer-

I still put my money on the fanficcers. Edit: baiting

Let's get a few things settled, the crap you mention(it does exist) is spawned both by people who don't read the advice or have no intention on improving. We have many, many good writers. Speaking of which....

    *Go SINRE!*

    Edit: baiting

based on the rules of selection only the best of our side will be versing the best of yours, but the short and simple fact is........

    We... are... BETTER! *Mass cheering*

    No more baiting, guys.

We are here to have fun in a friendly cross-forum event. We are not here to disrespect other users or their writing/forums.

Play nice and we can all have a good time.

Egh, apologize for earlier, got a little too enthusiastic. I didn't mean to say that anyone specific is bad, just that I've had bad experience (some good, too) on other forums. I'm sure you guys have talent, as I said before.

Okay, well now I have a question.

With the blockbuster annoucement a few minutes ago of a non - SW Fanfiction Forum coming, is this contest open to all fandom characters or Strictly Star Wars related?

I think this is strictly Star Wars, since the NSWFF is a) still under discussion and not created yet, b) it wasn't in the plans, and c) will probably be separated from SWFF.

Yes, strictly SW. So keep Mulder and Scully on the backburner for now. :p

Killer grass. Remember that. It's like a lawn of Venus fly traps, and we created them - through our awesome powers of description. [face_mischief]
