Well this one definitely is official



And is released about the same time. Would they release two official sourcebooks around the same time that would cover pretty much the same subject matter?

 

Now I'm getting confused.

I guess it is possible that this could be a translation of the book that was announced at Celebration. As the other two books he has done seem to be done in a separate language.

 

One of the things that I wish will be referenced in Phase II - foundation of the Corporate Sector.

 

I'm hoping with talk of explorer teams we get a little taste of how the Republic deals with a hostile alien power for a bit of a new flavour to Star Wars. The first phase hinted at a dustup with the Togruta so that sure seems possible. Maybe competition with some other hegemony that in the future is Republic integrated and we can see how that comes about.

 

Phase 2 of The High Republic will only be a two wave phase. Path of Vengence by Cavan Scott will be one of the books to close the phase out on 2nd May 2023

 

Not sure how I feel about this information.

 

Yeah, on the plus side it means we should get a Phase 3, and the Nihil story, sooner. But on the other hand it's a shame so little time is being spent on this era

 

In terms of duration of storylines - agree, but I have a feeling that with so many different comics (with plots that will be quite possibly independent from each other) there is a chance that Phase II will be in fact more developed in terms of worldbuilding than Phase I.

 

Good. If Phase I had ended differently then I might see it as a shame but as it is? Nope.

Though...I mean, once an era is established, it is easy to return to.

 

Exactly. If Phase II is a hit they can always expand it in Phase III or afterwards

 

Nobody but Lego has had the guts to develop the ST era since those films came out.

 

Is that a fair example, though? Lucasfilm has the post-TROS galaxy hidden behind a large, obvious "under construction" sign, which I suspect will be the case for a while to come - they clearly intend to approach that era strategically, rather than just throw the gates open and let the chips fall where they may. Meanwhile, the pre-TROS section of the era has seen development, and continues to.

 

It was a joke, so, yes. Yes it was.

 

Does the "under construction" sign look like a green curtain? With lots of smoke billowing out from under it? Plus flashes and explosions? With ominous voiceover effects?

 

Well, now I want lego high republic.

 

The fair would have so much you could wreck.

 

Glad to hear that this is going to be a shorter Phase. Not just because it will mean we get back to the main story sooner than we thought. But also if this Phase mainly serves to give background info to us it really doesn't need to be as long.

 

I hope we get more info in this phase, since its set earlier in the timeline, of the past "Reconstruction" era, caused by the the massive Sith war in the last years of the Old Republic era.

 

Yeah it's kinda funny/sad that I feel the same. I hope this phase isn't all flashback but if it is then I hope it is over quickly.
