I actually finally watched the Holiday Special last year with a friend. I had a really good time, especially since me and my friend could entertain ourselves with our own commentary. I would never watch it alone.

 

I am amazed they finally got George to talk about the holiday special

Although I've been fairly critical of BoBF as of late, one thing I did like was the callback to his introduction in the Holiday Special. Boba said he he had ridden beasts several times larger than the Rancor gifted to him by the Twins, and I guess he could only be referring to this.

 

That weapon he holds has also appeared a few times. The Mandalorian has a weapon like it, and now Danny Trejo's rancor keeper has a thing like it as well.

I unironically love everything about the Holiday Special except for that one note in Leia’s song.

 

Mandalorian Choppa Notimo used a version of it as an electro-shockwave staff back in The Force Unleashed . When slammed it into the ground it would create shockwaves that knocked down his opponents . Basically a similar weapon also appears to be used by the Mandalorianish Enfys Nest, her Electroripper staff.

 

I unironically love some of the Holiday Special characters. I'd really love to see more of Chewie's family and Saun Dann. Even without the cheese, Saun is quite funny and endearing (Art Carney ). I kind of like the idea of a used car salesman with a heart of gold. It just sort of works.

 

Saun is one of the few original characters I like in the special, as well as Ackmena. And for the most part, I'm fine with Chewie's family. My problem is less with them and more some of the mind-numbing and cringe material they're surrounded by in the special.

 

I wondered why I never heard of this guy but I guess his content was left out of the XBox version for some reason.

 

Yeah, each console was slightly different and featured different characters and a lil different storyline. The PS2 and PS3 versions were for sure, since I had those .

 

Kelbo, Zutmore!! I remember enjoying so much seeing again some of my favorite alien species in the cantina scene!

 

Is this a reference to the Holiday Special?

 

I just watched "A Disturbance in the Force". It's a documentary about the making of the Holiday Special. I only saw the Special on its original air date. I knew it was bad then but the doc gave me some insight, like the Star Wars Donnie and Marie show.
