    Vertigo, without a doubt.

Mr. Smith for me. It's pretty much the birth of the Stewart persona.

It was there, I think. Yes, it's a great performance, because it's the only good thing in the movie, and carries it on its back. But I went with great performances in great movies: Lubitsch in comedy and Hitchcock in drama.

In what decade did you see your first movie in a cinema?

    The 2000s
    The 1990s
    The 1980s
    The 1970s
    The 1960s
    The 1950s
    The 1940s
    The 1930s
    Earlier than the 1930s
Believe it or not: this current decade

The 90's, but it was nowhere near often. In fact, I still rarely see movies in the theater.

    Early 1980s. A re-release of Mary Poppins

It must have been 1983 as it was preceeded by Mickey's Christmas Carol, and the 2nd film I saw was ROTJ

There's a slight but unlikely chance I went to the movies while I was zero, but I'll just go with the 90s.

The 80s just barely with Back to the Future Part II, but I don't clearly remember seeing any films in theatres until the early 90s.

First one I can remember is Toy Story in 1995. Apparently my mom took me to see Jurassic Park in '93 but I don't remember it.

The 90's. I think it was Aladdin but I don't remember it. I do remember seeing Jurassic Park or bits and pieces of it at a theater

The 80's, might have been Little Mermaid or the re-release of Bambi.

1980s. Can't remember exactly what film it was - possibly Follow That Bird or maybe Flight of the Navigator.

    70s.

Like Halibut, my first in-theater movie was Mary Poppins, but it was during an early 70s re-release. I must have been three of four at the time; my abiding memory of it is the buzzing noise of the audience's conversation in the minutes before the movie started.

I miss that buzzing noise of conversation in the minutes before movies start.

Likely 80s, but the first one I remember is the Jetsons movie in 1990. The next one after that is Jurassic Park.

I didn't see it for nearly a decade after that (when it was on TV) but it did leave an impression on me - notably introducing me to my love of sci-fi. :)

Do you mean the decade that began in January of 2011? This current decade?

Or did you make a mistake and did you mean the previous decade that began in 2001?

Either way, how is that possible? Are you a small child masquerading as a modestly intelligent grown-up Internet forum moderator? 'Cause that would explain a lot. :D

The 80s. I VERY vaugely remember seeing Oliver and Company. The first movies I have specific recollections of are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.
