Behind the Avatars will be the name of a documentary coming out after E7 that delves into all the sordid details of the lives of posters here.

    Me too Tunick.

    Thanks Hellhammer

    Behind the Avatar.

    36. Why the Passel Argente avatar for so long?

I've had Passel Argente as my avatar for 13 years now. Gotta stick with what works.

But if you know my aol handle from years back, you'll know it has something to do with the Exorcist film. I was pretty much in love with the horror movie back in the early 2000s after the re-release and thus Pazuzu was on my mind. So while looking at AOTC characters, I noticed Passel Argente looked kinda demonish/goblinish. So I latched on to the character.

Of course I wanted to murder someone when I saw AOTC and his line had been cut. It was apparently too small of a spoiler to break at any point before the movies release. When the dvd came out, there was a scene showing George Lucas and Ben Burtt in the editing room and Passel was on the screen. It was like the moment of death. Then of course 3 years later I actually saw his moment of death...

He is a constant reminder to me that while we may spend years talking spoilers, things may have been cut long before we get wind of them.

Yeah, it's great getting a larger portrait of people here. The differences of opinion seem so much less when you see all the rest you have in common.

This is a really powerful idea. Nice job.

It's always kind of humbling to read these interviews as there are so many here who have the ability to express themselves so well with such great ideas. Because of folks like HL&S I know I would definitely be intrigued if Palpatine were to return as the ST villain.

    Although, then again...:p

...another great mind probe, Hellhammer. Your resistance was considerable, HL&S.

The Imperial Spoiler Surveillance Station is proud to present you yet another installment of our insanely popular legalized torture documentary series. Our lucky interviewee was happy to volunteer for a lengthy session and even his (mistakenly) locked steel doors could not keep our VIP escort squad from reaching him and solving this little misunderstanding in the middle of the night and driving him to an undisclosed location somewhere in the Virius asteroid belt.

    - Wake up.

This week, our guest is Ganger ! Thanks for taking the time to fill these out, hope you folks enjoy it!

    --------------------

    1. How did you first come across the Jedi Council forums?

That was almost 15 years ago, how time flies! I remember lurking throughout ‘98 and early ‘99 in the same way most of us are participating in anticipation for the next Star Wars movie. I also remember officially signing up some months after TPM was released because I wasn’t particularly satisfied and wanted Episode II to rock. I saw potential in the PT at that point and really wanted the next film to be awesome, so I joined to talk to people who felt like I did and of course to speculate and have fun with the latest scoops and rumors. I remember feeling terrified about the N’Sync cameo back in the day. Ha ha ha good old times, I was just a confused teenager.

    2. What is your fondest Star Wars related memory?

Star Tours when I was really young, probably 6 or 7. My older brothers were familiar with Star Wars, not huge fans but they liked it a lot, I didn’t really know that much about it. Of course I recognized R2 and 3PO, then I started really getting into it. The line to that game was just awesome, I felt in a universe I really wanted to know EVERYTHING about! When we got back from that trip to Orlando, Star Wars came on TV. I missed ANH, don’t remember why, but I saw ESB and ROTJ and my life changed instantly. I became a HUGE Star Wars nerd.

    3. What is your favorite Star Wars possession? (toy, poster, costume, books, comics, various merchandise, etc.)

About 13 years ago I found mint copies of the first 8 Marvel Comic series from 1977. Those have to be it. A close second would be my first action figure: Luke in full X Wing gear.
    [IMG][IMG]

    4. Those old school Marvel comics were great fun...and pretty insane at times. Any favorite moments from the Marvel era?

I LOVE that comic book era in general, not just the Star Wars ones. One of the things I treasure the most is the completely insane use of colors, it almost seems as if the inkers had no idea what the movie looked like and just went crazy with it. It's great thatthey included the complete scripts, cutting room floor stuff included. I love the drawings as well, they feel a little bit rushed, but it has great style. What really does it for me in the end is the covers. As I write this I'm thinking about printing copies and framing them!

    5. So. A Sequel Trilogy, who would’ve thought. Before the announcement, did you actually expect this to ever happen?

Hell no. I made the mistake of believing Lucas when he said the saga was over!

    6. What was your initial reaction to the news of the sale to Disney and the upcoming Sequel Trilogy?

Not too good. I’m not too fond of how they handle creativity in the latest years. The Avengers is heavily overrated to me, so yeah, I wasn’t psyched. But then I really got into it because of the wise decisions that were taking place and the brilliant people getting involved. Right now I hold a very skeptic mind and don’t want to buy into any hype, all I can say is that I really, really, really want this film to be decent and I think there is a lot potential for it.

    7. Were you around for the PT speculation? If so, what’s your favorite moment from that period?

Hell yeah I was. I really cared about it up until AOTC came out, then I just felt severly burned and lost interest. As most of the people here can tell, I’m not fond of the PT at all, though I really wanted to like these movies. That said, one of the funniest anecdotes I remember from that time was the rumor of Leo Dicaprio as Anakin and I though “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN!”. I had no idea this guy would turn out to be Scorsese’s go-to guy, a really fine actor.

    8. Just how spoiled do you plan to be for Episode 7?

Oh god, I really don’t want to be spoiled but I’m so weak! This movie can really surprise us, we know nothing about it! Right now that is all casting spoilers and things like that, it’s a lot of fun, but I may step back when it comes too spoily (is that a word?)

    9. What is your favorite theory concerning Episode 7 from these boards?

I am yet to be impressed.

    10. And the least favorite?

That whole Netherworld theory was just atrocious to me.

    11. Describe your ideal Villain in the ST and who would you cast to play him?

I haven’t gotten that specific about the ST speculation and in this particular subject I’m a bit conflicted. ROTJ has a really powerful and round ending, it’s not necessary at all to do the ST . . so shoud there be sith involved?? I don’t really know how I feel about, I would love to be surprised by a villain who’s not force sensitive. We’re talking about the rebuilding of the republic here, it would be natural to have loads of corruption and ideological questioning. I could see a villain representing the new rebel alliance, as rebels who oppose the force and Luke trying really hard to “pass on what he has learned”.

I love Benedict Cumberbatch and part of me really wants him in Episode VII, but he played the villain in Star Trek and that kind of ruins it a bit for me. I mean, the same director and same actor playing the villain?

As I said to a friend recently: Of all the fish in the sea, did you really have to pick your best friend’s ex?

    12. And the Hero?

Luke’s son or daughter seems like a natural choice and It makes sense to me. I would love it if Luke had children, LOVE IT. Mainly because the jedi in the PT were really robot like monks to me. It would be awesome if Luke as the last jedi standing would reform the jedi order making it ok for jedis to have families. I would love this character to have a mix of Luke and Anakin, the latter providing the dark side part (is there anything else Anakin from the PT represents as a character??). I have heard the rumors about Todd from Breaking Bad and I think he could really pull it off, who knows. Just leave Zac Efron out of this please.

    13. What about Luke's wife? Or would the child be adopted, maybe?

I do want Luke to have a wife or maybe be a widower. I wouldn't like any of that messiah crap in these movies, it's also a good chance to reorganize the jedi order, allowing them to have offspring, to love. I don't have any specific ideas about Luke's wife though. I never got into the EU so for me Mara Jade is just a name, don't care if that character appears at all.

    14. Also, what would you consider ideal roles for Han and Leia in the ST?

Mmmmmm tough one . . . I think Han and Leia were a bit of a lost opportunity in ROTJ, so I wouldn't want to just classify them through their ranks or political duties. I expect them to come out as leaders of course. Not just because they are our heroes but because they are human. I want them to have failures here and there, not just impecable performance. I would love to see Han's reaction to the Falcon being destroyed for example. I would love to see Leia as a conflicted mother too, maybe one of her children is tempted by the dark side?

    15. Every Star Wars movie needs awesome supporting characters. Any ideas for those?

Well I really expect to see Chewie and the droids. I just expect characters to be characters and have stories to them (JJ handled this really well in Star Trek). I don’t want a comic relief CGI character just because the movie needs humor, I want engaging characters that really feel like they’re there.

    16. Any special cameos or easter eggs you’d like to see in Episode 7?

    17. This one’s a bit tougher than it seems at first glance. We don’t have any facts so let’s just go by gut feeling. How good do you think Episode 7 will be? Are you optimistic? Pessimistic? Reserved? Will it be great? Abominable? Average?

I’m skeptic, but I really want it to be decent and I feel the creative team summoned for this project can pull it off so, in that sense, I’m optimistic.

    18. Is there a particular, weirdly specific scene that you’ve come up with in great detail that you’d love to see in the ST, regardless of how plausible that is?

I gathered with a couple of geek friends a while ago, we had a few drinks and talked, among many things, about Episode VII. We were a bit drunk, but we came up with the idea for a scene with Han and Chewie involved in clandestine vintage racing with the falcon, it could even be the Kessel run! Have them as old friends trying to relive the glory days, the sense of adventure, a fun scene. Then have Han come home, trying to make as little noise as possible so Leia doesn’t wake up, then he sees a silhouette in the corner, it’s Leia expecting him (her first appereance in the movie) and they have a little argument about his racing, how dangerous it is and everything and then Han says he misses the adventures, the excitement. It could be a good introductory scene for Han, Leia and Chewie.

    19. Congratulations. You’ve been contacted by The Powers That Be to create a ten episode Star Wars series. Live action, animated, CGI, filmed muppets… it’s up to you. Give us a short synopsis.

I would go full 2D cartoon and would team up with top notch animators to make a 10 episode epic about Bounty Hunters, centered between ANH and ESB with Boba Fett as the main character.

    20. Episodes X, XI and XII - yea or nay? Why?

Nay. Because if they do X-XII then XII-XIV would seem natural and of course there’d be a huge $ incentive and the movies I love would now be part of this huge money driven movie making machine, I wouldn’t like that.

    21. How about starting a new Saga, with new heroes in a new time period?

Not crazy about it, to be honest but wouldn't be against it either. It's hard for me to see that far ahead at this moment, all I can think about is Episode VII!

    22. Let’s talk about the Saga in general. A classic question - favorite movie and why?

My favorite is probably ANH (ask me again tomorrow I may say it’s ESB!). I love it because it was the first one, it created this mega universe in just one low budget film, there’s a lot of merit there, one of the finest examples of movie making right there. And it’s also so much fun and every element seems to have been carefully crafted to move the story and characters forward and look awesome. It’s practically flawless.

You asked for my favorite, but the one I think is the best: ESB.
There was huge pressure to making a sequel to the most successful movie ever and they made one of the greatest second acts out there. What a beautiful piece of storytelling and visuals, everything is so beautifully crafted. It also has by far the best performances in any of the other movies in the saga. No contest.

    23. Which scene from the Saga did have the strongest emotional impact on you?

As a kid, probably Vader’s redemption. As an adult, I get more emotional about the movie making aspects, about the process craft and storytelling, and in that sense I get emotional with scenes like the introduction to the Executor with the Empire Theme on full swing. So well done and powerful!

    24. If there wasone thingyou could change about anything in the Saga - what would it be?

I would have Lucas’s involvement in the PT be similar to his involvement in ESB and ROTJ.

    25. What was your least appropriate use of a Star Wars quote in real life?

“There’s always a bigger fish”. If I explain the contest, I would probably get banned.

    26. If you lived in GFFA, what would be your ideal occupation?

I work in the tourism industry, working that way but interplanetary, man that would be awesome.

    27. That would indeed be interesting. Let's imagine for a second you have your own Galactic Tour. What destinations would you pick?

I've always loved the desert. San Pedro de Atacama in Chile is absolutely breath taking, was there last month and WOW, you feel insignificant . . . A whole planet like that? I'm all for it. I'd befriend some tuskens and jawas through a nice deal and make them part of a Tatooine wild tour on banthas.

    28. Favorite Force ability?

I’m only familiar with what I have seen in movies, maybe there’s something really over the top in the EU and TV shows that I’m not aware of. That said, probably sith lightning. It’s just badass.

    29. Let’s move away from Star Wars for a bit. Have any hobbies or interesting pastimes?

Yes, many. I’m a musician and I love rock. I play guitar on a daily basis. Right now I don’t play in a band because I have to travel a lot for work, but I have a few projects lined up.

    30. That is very interesting. I'll use this opportunity to pop in a bit more serious question - many musicians complain how the Internet and piracy have ruined the industry. Any thoughts on that?

Yes, a lot actually. It's interesting because musicians should be celebrating the fact that their music is heard by millions of people at the touch of a button but at the same time it's highly unlikely to make money out of it and once you enter the record industry, people make decisions for you all the time. The big acts today feel like label's puppets who put on a nice show and sell a gillion dollars on itunes. I'm not into that at all.

I love buying records and watching bands perform live. I'll go to a dump to see a good show, I don't really care, at least it's real. What I love is that the drive towards creating personal and entertaining music hasn't declined at all and there are multiple outlest to put your stuff out and to listen to emerging acts that are authentic.

    31. Any other favorite franchises, besides Star Wars?

Franchises not really, but right now I’m really into the films of Stanley Kubrick and the Coen Bros. It’s awesome to rewatch all these movies on bluray, I could watch those films as much times as I have seen the trilogy.

    32. I just have to ask, being of similar interests, favorite movies by Kubrick and the Coens?

The Big Lebowski is a masterpiece, I could watch that movie every day. Fargo is great too and I'm really into the Coen's last masterpiece, Inside Llewyn Davis. Besides, I love folk music so that's just a marriage made in heaven for me.

Kubrick is just crazy good. I love 2001 and Barry Lyndon. Re watching these movies on bluray has been quite the experience. I saw them for the first time through old VHS tapes so the visual impact on me has been HUGE.

    33. We’ve barely stepped into the year 2014. Any specific goals you hope to achieve by the end of the year?

Solo album. Something simple, an internet release and a few acoustic gigs with just a couple of backing musicians doing harmonies and playing guitar and keyboards. I just want to get some tunes out there.

A bit of official news, a starting date for the shooting (of the movie, not our...ehm... guests), confirmation that we'll be getting three new leads and familiar faces and the timeline confirmation... well, it's been a rather busy week here at the Imperial Spoiler Surveillance Station and we feel no shame in accepting all the credit for the nice things and none of the blame for the not-so-nice things. Even in these hectic days of information-we-kind-of-already-figured-but-hey-it's-official-so-I-guess-that's-something our dedicated night patrols have simply been swarmed by dozens of willing candidates for our friendly talk show. In fact, some were so dedicated to showing us their desire to participate, that in order to attract the attention of our VIP escort squads they kept discharing their weapons in our men's direction. Luckily, our in-depth (but fair!) selective process helps us select the most suitable (and most alive) candidates out of the excited masses!

The intensive selection process in practice.

This week, our honored guest is an explorer of the stars in his own right - KED12345 ! Welcome to our cozy little outpost... and just don't look at the stars, alright, no need to tell where we are...

    --------------

    1. How did you first come across the Jedi Council forums?

When I was 11 years old in 2005, I duped myself into believing I knew everything about Star Wars and the internet and signed onto TFN's Jedi Council forums. However, I was able to spare those in 3SA the pain of having to deal with an overly excited 11 year old who thought SuperShadow's scripts were the word of Lucas by not posting anything. I eventually lost interest, until two years ago when I rejoined to discuss the now cancelled TCW series.

    2. What is your fondest Star Wars related memory?

My fondest Star Wars related memory will have to be the speculation and excitement surrounding the release of Revenge of the Sith. I still remember sitting through an hour of some forgettable television show in March 2005 to watch the trailer to the new movie. My father was in the military and was a huge Star Wars fan himself, but was deployed overseas when Revenge of the Sith actually came out. I purposefully waited an extra two weeks for him to come home, and that very same morning after we were united after six months, we went to go see the new movie.

    3. What is your favorite Star Wars possession? (toy, poster, costume, books, comics, various merchandises, etc.)

That’ll have to be my Anakin Skywalker Force FX lightsaber. You should have seen the look on the neighbor’s dogs after I ignited that bad boy for the first time in my front yard Christmas of 2005. I don’t think their front yard ever fully recovered from the poor thing’s reaction. Actually, only a few weeks after I got it I ended up in a fight with two 14 and 16 year old teens who were bullying me and my friends. They were drunk out of their minds and were trespassing on my friend’s property. Instead of calling an adult like I really should have, I ran to my room and grabbed the lightsaber (which when I ignited it, they thought it was real). When the confrontation escalated, the drunk 14 year old then attempt to assault me, but I – with the purposeful dedication of a true Jedi Knight – stopped him by slamming the saber right into his ass and punching him in the face. It’s without a doubt truly why it’s my favorite Star Wars possession, and it hangs on my wall as if it was a winning baseball bat.

    4. So, a Sequel Trilogy, who would’ve thought. Before the announcement, did you actually expect this to ever happen?

Yes. Although like everyone else when the PT ended I expected that was it, as time went on and further franchises started to get sequels and prequels I started to entertain the idea. Lord of the Rings was getting The Hobbit added on as a trilogy, and Marvel was releasing movie after movie leading up to its Avengers premiere. It wasn’t until LFL announced they were re-releasing the entire Saga in 3D in theaters that I started thinking it was likely Episode VII would come out sometime in the next 10 years, and I even posted my prediction for it a few weeks in advance of the actual announcement. There simply was no way producers were going to let that gold mine slip, absolutely no way. Although what did surprise me was the fact that it was Disney who bought LFL and the fact it would come out in 2015. There was no way I could have seen that coming.

    5. What was your initial reaction to the news of the Disney sale and the upcoming Sequel Trilogy?

Like I said above, I didn’t see it coming. I saw the Sequel Trilogy coming out for sure, but I never saw the Disney sale and the fact we were three years from release. I didn’t know how to process it. I desperately tried to get onto TFN’s Jedi Council forums to see what’s up and I couldn’t even get on because the site was being overloaded (or my internet connection really sucked).

    6. Were you around for the PT speculation? If so, what’s your favorite moment from that period?

I didn’t post at all, but I was lurking and aware of the speculation for ROTS. I don’t really remember much, other than sheer excitement for the movies. My favorite moment had to be reading the SuperShadow scripts and thought I’d just uncovered a goldmine.

    7. Just how spoiled do you plan to be for Episode 7?

Honestly, I don’t know how one can be following Episode VII and not be spoiled. That may have been possible a decade ago, but now this stuff is everywhere. Even the smallest rumor about the OT3 gets plastered all over social media, which is how I found out about the latest Adam Driver rumor. I’d like to avoid being totally spoiled, and I expect to know the cast and their roles in the movie, but I know that more than likely I’ll know quite a few plot points. There’s just no way to escape it. So I plan to be fairly spoiled for Episode VII, VIII, and IX.

    8. What is your favorite theory concerning Episode 7 from these boards?

I saw a theory posted on here that Luke Skywalker was presumed to have died at the Battle of Endor, and that only the main leaders of the Rebel Alliance knew of Luke’s survival and goals to rebuild the Jedi Order in secret. This made sense to me, because I’d imagine the animosity towards force users in general after decades of violence and oppression was pretty high. People probably distrusted the Jedi and the Sith equally, the Jedi brought about a huge war and the Sith transformed the Republic into an autocracy. Expanding on that theory, I also saw it explained that Luke and Leia have a huge skeleton in their closet – Darth Vader is their father. That’s like having Hitler as a secret dad. Yes, Vader was redeemed but 10 minutes worth of redemption does not make up for 20+ years of violence and death. The main villain, someone similar to Thrawn but taking orders from a Sith Lord, wants to crush the New Republic through military might and by degrading the people’s faith in the leaders. Now imagine that this guy knows about the truth about the Skywalker family from this Sith Lord. What a weapon that would be!

    9. And the least favorite?

I know a lot of people like this theory, but it’ll have to be the one about Plagueis. His role was to allow further Palpatine’s seduction of Anakin to the dark side, but that should be it as far as the Saga is concerned.

    10. Describe your ideal Villain in the ST and who would you cast to play him?

The overall villain needs to be a Sith Lord. That’s just how Star Wars works. Brilliant, cunning, competent, manipulative, and just an all-around badass. But he needs a character arc too, instead of just being thrown away like Maul was in one episode. I would probably want Benedict Cumberbatch to play him. He’s already been rumored for such a role and I think he’s an amazing actor. That and I love BBC’s Sherlock.

    11. And the Hero?

Young, probably somewhere between 19 and 25 or so. Naïve, idealistic, but with powerful potential, much like Anakin and Luke. But he can’t be a Gary Stu character, he needs to have potent flaws to match his potential. If he’s a Skywalker or a Solo, which he most certainly will be, his emotions and rage will certainly be a problem for him. Personally, I have no idea who I’d like to see play this character, but I think Jesse Plemons may be the most likely.

    12. You mentioned earlier about Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order in secret. That's an interesting idea. How would you like to see the ST Jedi be represented?

As the mythical warriors, legends who's powers were viewed to be greatly exaggerated by skeptical people (ie, Han Solo in ANH) but are now, like so many things about the Old Republic, viewed to be apparently extinct. In reality though, they exist as an underground force, ready to spring into the GFFA when a thread emerges that only they can face.

    13. Every Star Wars movie needs awesome supporting characters. Any ideas for those?

I honestly have no idea, but as long as it’s not a Jar-Jar character we’ll be good.

    14. Any special cameos or easter eggs you’d like to see in Episode 7?

    Tikkes.

Just kidding. I’d love it if we got to see the USS Enterprise just zooming around a random scene in the background. It’d be something like R2D2 appearing in the Abrams’ Star Trek films. Just as long as it isn’t obvious and it’s something we have to pause during a specific scene to see.

    15. This one’s a bit tougher than it seems at first glance. We don’t have any facts so let’s just go by gut feeling. How good do you think Episode 7 will be? Are you optimistic? Pessimistic? Reserved? Will it be great? Abominable? Average?

Based on Abrams’ previous works, with the writing crew coming together, I think Episode VII has potential to be great and I am cautiously optimistic. There’s a lot of room to screw up, but there’s also tons of ways to make it great. I think Abrams should stick to his guns and make a film for everyone, instead of just the fans.

16 This is an almost regular question by now. What do you think is the ideal level of Lucas' involvement in the ST?

I think the ideal level of Lucas' involvement is what we're getting. Lucas is serving as a story consultant, he can tell Abrams and co. what to do and what not to do, but if they don't like it they don't have to follow up on Lucas' advice.

    17. Another common one - would you like to see Abrams direct all the Episodes or a new director for each?

That depends on how good Episode VII is. If Episode VII blows my mind in terms of quality, then he should of course direct VIII and IX. However, if Episode VII turns out to be sub-par, and it'll have to be really sub-par for me not to like a Star Wars movie, someone else should be given a try at Star Wars.

    18. Is there a particular, weirdly specific scene that you’ve come up with in great detail that you’d love to see in the ST, regardless of how plausible that is?

Haven’t we all? I’d love to see a scene between Anakin’s force ghost and Leia and Obi-Wan to Luke saying their respective farewells as they cannot linger any further in this realm. Something like in Truce at Bakura and Heir to the Empire. It would tie all three trilogies together and would bring total closure to Anakin and Obi-Wan’s story.

    19. What do you think should be the fates of Luke, Leia and Han?

It'll sound morbid, but I think Luke and Han should both die at some point in the new trilogy. Luke should die though in Episode VII, in the same way Qui-Gon died in Episode I and Obi-Wan in Episode IV. But we'd still see Luke of course throughout the trilogy, appearing to our new hero as a force ghost. Han on the other hand, should go out in a blaze of glory in the Falcon with Chewie at his side.

    20. Congratulations. You’ve been contacted by The Powers That Be to create a ten episode Star Wars series. Live action, animated, CGI… it’s up to you. Give us a short synopsis.

This is too much power for one person! But I’ll take it. Honestly, we need to get away from the Saga to allow breathing room. TCW was stuck between 3 years and Rebels doesn’t look like it’ll get much longer than that. I’d love to see something with Revan and KOTOR, or the formation of the Jedi Order. If not, then Bane and the creation of the Rule of Two.

    21. Would that be an adaptation of the established stories about Revan and Bane, or just something set in that time period?

You know, as much as I love those stories, I know what happens with it. It should be something with those characters but entirely new.

    22. Episode XI, XI, and XII – yea or nay? Why?

I’ll have to say nay, but I’d prefer it over remaking the original trilogy. There’s got to be a point where Star Wars ends. Three trilogies, each made of three episodes:

I-III: The Rise and Fall of Anakin Skywalker.
IV-VI: The Rise of Luke Skywalker and the Redemption of the Father, Anakin.
VII-IX: Luke Skywalker fixing his Father’s Dark Deeds.

That’s perfectly rounded out. Episode IX should return the Star Wars galaxy to peace, which is what it started out in Episode I. After that the story formula gets repetitive and predictable.

    23. Let’s talk about the Saga in general a bit. A classic question – favorite movie?

Return of the Jedi. It’s the one with the most powerful meaning behind it and wraps up so much of the current Star Wars saga.

    24. Which scene from the Saga did have the strongest emotional impact on you?

The scene in Return of the Jedi when Luke flips on Vader for threatening Leia. The buildup and the music sends chills down my spine. What an awesome moment to see Luke, the last of the Jedi, truly unleash it all and brutally beat down the Sith Lord who defeated dozens of Jedi.

    25. If there was one thing you could change about anything in the Saga – what would it be?

I’d want Anakin to be older when he’s found on Tatooine, closer to Luke’s age instead of a 9-year old. That way we can see how life has already thrown him around, instead of having a childlike innocence. Instead of being like Luke’s personality, I’d like to see Anakin start off as a Han Solo like character, a cocky pilot that gets into a bar fight with Obi-Wan when they first meet.

    26. What was your least appropriate use of a Star Wars quote in real life?

Some girl in middle school once told me she loved me in gym class, so I blurted out without thinking, “I know.” The look on her face was full of self-righteous indignation, and I really can’t blame her either.

    27. If you lived in GFFA, what would be your ideal occupation?

Cliché answer, I’d be a Jedi Knight. I don’t even think I need to elaborate on that one, who wouldn’t want to be one?

    28. What kind of Jedi? Pondering on the mysteries of the Force, meditating? Going out into the galaxy and getting things done? Follow the rules or just go by your own feelings?

In real life, I'm a fairly deep thinker. I'd want to focus on figuring out the mysteries of the Force and how it relates to the Universe as a whole. Is the Force a constant in the cosmos like gravity? Do other sentient beings in other galaxies have the ability to call upon the Force? What created the Force? etc. If I was a Jedi and the Force existed, I'd imagine those are the type of questions I'd ask.

    29. What would be the main life lesson you'd strive to teach your Padawan?

Don't shoot your eye out kid!

    30. Favorite Force ability?

In the movies? Force Lightning, you always know someone is screwed when that thing is unleashed.

    31. Let’s move away from Star Wars for a bit. Have any hobbies or interesting pastimes?

You mean besides spending an absurd amount of time on the casting rumors thread? I’m an astronomer, which is one of my main motivations to pursue physics as a degree. I own two telescopes, one of them coming in at 40 lbs with an 8-inch mirror. With it I’ve seen every planet in the solar system, as well as the brighter galaxies.

    32. That is just awesome. When do you think we'll get a confirmation of other habitable planets in our galaxy?

While we may not have a direct confirmation of other habitable planets in our galaxy, we have very strong evidence to suggest we've discovered planets that are capable of supporting life, otherwise known as an Earth analog planet. This depends on a varying ratio of size, mass, density, and distance away from its parent star, as well as the type of star it orbits. So far, the planet we've discovered with the most similarities to Earth would be Gliese 667 Cc. Gliese 667 Cc actually exists in a three star system, orbiting the smallest star in that system, Gliese 667 C, a red dwarf. That being said, if an astronomer living outside of the solar system, with the current understanding of exoplanet detection, were to look at our own solar system, that astronomer would be led to believe the conditions for life may exist on Venus and Mars as well as Earth. Obviously this is not the case, as Mars is a frozen husk and Venus is a hellish planet. Still though, Earth would appear as the most obvious candidate for habitability.

    33. Can't go without asking this one - extraterrestrial life, yea or nay, and when do you think we'll find it?

Yes. It's statistically improbable that life doesn't exist in the universe besides our own insignificant Earth. Life not only exists on Earth, but more than likely arose for a short period of time on Mars and the conditions, for all we know, may currently exist on the Galilean moon, Europa. That's up to three times in one solar system. An equation actually exists to figure out how often intelligent life has evolved in our own galaxy, known as the Drake equation. With this equation and his own variables, Drake calculated 36 million civilizations in our own galaxy may exist with the capability of radio technology and which radio communication may be possible. But then why haven't we been contacted by one, or why haven't we been able to pick up on a signal? The galaxy is a big place, even if up to 36 million civilizations with radio technology exists, we may simple not have gotten the signal yet or worse, the only signal we might get for the next thousands of years may have come before we had radio technology, like in the 1600s while we were burning witches. But let's suppose the signal happens within our lifetimes, and we have radio technology, but no one is listening because we viewed it as a "waste of time and money?" I can't imagine a bigger embarrassment.

    34. Any other favorite franchises, besides Star Wars?

They’re all distant behind it, but I enjoyed the Harry Potter series quite a bit when it was coming out, although that’s died off since Star Wars has returned to prominence.

    35. We’ve barely stepped into the year 2014. Any specific goals you hope to achieve by the end of the year?

I’m hoping to finish up my A.A. degree at my community college in the fall before I move onto the university to get my B.A. in Physics. For that to happen, I need full scholarship for me to consider it or else I’ll enlist into the United States Air Force. I have a pretty high GPA coming in at a 3.8, so I think my chances for that are pretty good.
