The Fanfiction awards are back! I?ll be your new host [smiles for the camera]

There are going to be a few small changes this time around, but one thing remains the same: these awards are still just for fun. There?s nothing-serious riding on them; no advertising deals or novel contracts. They?re just a way to honor the most popular fics on the boards, as chosen by you, the people who read and write the fics, who make this board great.

With that in mind, I present the categories: [reads off cue card]

Best Original Character Story
Best Vignette (1-4 pages)
Best Short Story (5-49 pages)
Best Novel (50+ pages)

You may notice the categories have been trimmed so that there are now only 9. No additional categories will be added.


The rules:

See you Soon by Amidala_Skywalker is a short story. Votes for See you Soon as a Vignette will be discounted. Sorry for any inconvenience that this might cause. (11/16)

A fic can win in more than one category. So author Random_Jedi with the short Horatio the Hutt romantic-comedy AU could conceivably win best Author, best Romance, best Original Character story, best Humor, best AU, and best Short Story.

Voting would be allowed until November 25th. Votes would be accepted through the thread and via PM?s (to myself).

Fics have to be from within this past year. Nov 1st will be used as a cut-off date. If the fic was finished before Nov 1st 2000, it is ineligible for these awards. If it has been completed since Nov 1st 2000 or is still ongoing, it is eligible.

Works in progress are acceptable nominations.

One set of votes per person.

Each person can only vote for one fic in one category. So no one can vote for two fics in the AU category; any such instance of multiple votes within a category will result in all that persons votes in that category being ignored. So if a person were to vote for both Random_Jedi and Jedi_Arbitrary, neither vote would count. Anyone wishing to change their votes should PM me.

There will not be separate threads for voting and nominations. Place your votes in this thread.

Each vote should contain the name of teh fic and its author. Links are helpful, but are not obligatory.

Um, Lothi, not to be picky and thanks for the nom, but ATWP was 170 pages. Not 5-49

 

But I definitely agree with your assessment of J-J. She rocks and so does IPTH.

 

I was wondering about that. It had nominations for both best novel and best short story.

 

It's definitely not a short story, but Lothi likes both IPTH and ATWP and couldn't vote for both of them as Best Novel. I would have voted IPTH for Best Novel, too.
