All JCC mods should be required to participate at risk of being stripped of their rank.

And come one St Elmos fire only need two more votes!

And btw Gazzolina is on the playlist in my zumba class, and after having it come up on this thread and the anecdote I think it's much easier to dance to it than I used to.

St. Elmos Fire, although Changes came very close to taking my vote

I did, by the way, come up with my list of fifteen songs over ten minutes long. The shortest one is mere seconds over ten minutes, the longest almost 45 minutes; the playlist as a whole? Four-and-a-half hours. Yikes. We'll skip that one.

I like both a lot. Changes and St. Elmo's Fire. I voted for the latter because it's more nostalgic to me.

Also funnier. "Gonna be a man in motion!". I bet he's thrusting his fist to the sky in the video. Standing on a cliff.

Might as well since it’s deadlocked.

One of my backups is in contention, so, with apologies to ODB, I guess I’m switching to “St. Elmo’s Fire.”

I also had a draft that long, although I like Miles Davis’ rambling electric period which is like a cheat code for lengthy tracks.

St Elmo’s Fire always seemed like a guilty pleasure addition to my playlist. Never did I imagine it would win.

Bowie and They Might Be Giants.

This... could be a difficult vote.

This is a good playlist. I'd ordinarily be tempted to go with either Heroes or Bridge Over Troubled Water, but we already have Bowie and Simon & Garfunkel on here, and Bowie is only two songs back.

Ordinarily, I'd say there's no such thing as too much Bowie, but I might have to go with Somewhere Only We Know, which is the first time I ever recall feeling aged, weary, soul tired, forlorn, and deeply melancholy listening to a song. I was a very dramatic 5th grader.

I'll take another shot at getting They Might Be Giants on the Playlist - another masterpiece from Flood.

I ended up going with "The Life of Riley" since I enjoyed it a lot but hadn't heard it before, but repeat listens are probably going to make this a little dicey.

I just don't know if I can vote against Heroes which is one of the most perfect songs ever created. I just don't think I can pick anything else on a list that has that on it.

But if anyone else votes for Somewhere Only We Know, I will not say you're wrong.

If you can believe it, I got to fifteen tracks without a single jazz selection. More a testament to my ignorance of the genre than an anti-jazz statement, but then I do very pointedly not like Bitches Brew, so make of that what you will.

Bitches Brew isn't jazz. They were just jamming, and someone pressed the record button.
