I voted for The Mercy Seat because it is Johnny Cash's most harrowing recording and that is really saying something.

I would say American III is maybe the weakest of the American series (unless you count that Mother's Hymn Book or whatever), but the one-two punch of I See a Darkness & The Mercy Seat is like as grim as it gets.

I've been getting into Dark Synth and other similar genres recently. It's not exactly music that gets played on the radio, but I am glad it shows up on spotify. It also fits with the cyberpunk aesthetic I like
