    @tom It was a nice match.
    My dream is to organize a little arena tournament among JCC members. Even blitz tournament, so we play several games.

    I'm terrible at chess but I can do okay. There were several free places I used to play back in the day

    Guys we are already 4 and growing! [face_party]

    How about we make a little 1 hour arena with games of 5|0 or 3|2 tomorrow afternoon?

    Come on don't let me down ! :p

    We tried that in the PT social thread once a few months back. It went alright, but problems arose once we started having opponents in vastly different timezones that made arranging times for matches nearly impossible. So I think we abandoned it a match or two before the finale due the interest fizzling out ;)

    Shame, cause it was quite engaging at first.

    @darkspine10
    Join our team on lichess. With the modality arena we won't have that problem, 'cause the playing time is well defined.
    Please invite our dear PT friends as well
    We can do this!

    @AutumnLight91
    From the website, go to Learn ---> Puzzles and solve at least 10 puzzles per day.
    At the very beginning solving puzzles is even more useful than playing games.

    Anyway, glad you joined, I've added you as you can see.

    I've recently been watching a lot of chess on Twitch.

    Some of my favorite channels included chess and chess24, as well as maskenissen (Magnus Carlsen), GMHikaru (Hikaru Nakamura), and GothamChess (Levy Rozman).

    I signed up for KasparovChess and already sent them a request for a refund. The puzzles are great but the screen keeps freezing up. The vids are not so good, sort of treating one like they already have been playing every day for 30 years.

    So, is there a good, free, chess site for training, puzzles, play against A.I. and of course play against people?

    Have you followed through on that? I'd consider playing, though I'm a complete novice.

    Lichess. You have infinite puzzles there, you can play against AI and with humans.
    Join the JCC group as well!

    Open a free account with lichess. I am esmiro there.
    Lichess is perfect both for playing and for training.

    Ah so Lichess is already ten times better. Even the fundamental puzzles are good.

    One thing I am learning, I have a long way to go. I had a real hard time with the Knight Bishop Mate. Just passed through the fork drills.

    That's super hard and I wouldn't be able to do it in a game

    I'm about 75% through all the stuff under the "Learn" tab. But I gave up on the Knight/Bishop mate. After this I'll hit the Puzzles tab.
