What time are you starting?
One hour from now
I want it now!
IT IS TIME
Will be there shortly!
Let's rock and roll!
Time for movie #2: Shaw Brothers' TEMPTRESS OF A THOUSAND FACES!
Did that last movie feel somewhat familiar?
It was a remake! Now, how official or unofficial it was, I cannot say.
Good news! Tonight we are watching another classic of terrible filmmaking!
It's the 1986 sci-fi horror extravaganza CHOPPING MALL!
A group of young shopping mall employees stays behind for a late-night party in one of the stores. When the mall goes on lock-down before they can get out, the robot security system malfunctions and goes on a killing spree.
An Amazon drone decides to go full Bezos and start killing people! And yes, that was DIck Miller, because of course it was Dick Miller!
Violence! Sex! Gore! Amazing sales! Tonight! Be there or be chopped!
A fine example of horrible cinema! ::chef's kiss::
Probably can't make this one, but I'm going to start trying to make it to these. Best of the Worst had a great segment on Chopping Mall, basically saying it's a charming and fun b-flick with some cool references/easter eggs to other more famous b-flicks.
You probably also want to watch the Agents of SHIELD episode from this season ("The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D"). Especially since the director seems like a raging **** about the homage (considering literally every other homage in the same episode).
We are starting in 20 minutes!
What's the second feature (if there is one)?
Second features are rarely scheduled. They often depend on whether there's quorum and what people feel like watching!
Based on history! Giant enemy crab!
We still have two more October weekends to go. I have more than enough horrible/horror films to go, but if you have any particular suggestions... post them!
1985's Hard Rock Zombies
IMDb description: A hard rock band travels to the tiny and remote town of Grand Guignol to perform. Peopled by hicks, rubes, werewolves, murderous dwarves, sex perverts, and Hitler, the town is a strange place but that doesn't stop the band's lead singer from falling in love with a local girl named Cassie. After Nazi sex perverts kill the band to satisfy their lusts, Cassie calls the rockers back from the grave to save her, the town, and maybe the world.
Oh so lol, Chopping Mall was produced by Roger Corman's wife, hence the nerds watching a Corman film.
Also fun fact, that was the same mall from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Makes watching that one a bit more fun.
If anything I'm surprised it wasn't produced by Corman himself.
Movie found! We can watch it this weekend or the next one
