    I've got a few grey squirrels that raid my bird feeders - he's welcome to them. Of course he'd scare all the smaller birds away as well..

    That would be bad. Bald eagles are an endangered species. A price on your head in not an easy thing for a squirrel to live with.

    Eagles are tremendous predatory hunters. There was nothing that @Adalia-Durron could have done to save poor Nuts.

    Keep in mind Adalia's squirrel is a formidable Jedi in it's own right.
    And we still don't have definitive proof it is dead.
