What, you mean the necrolikes? I was just reminiscing. The important thing is that I have been lax in the duties I gained when I took up the mantle of Candy protector and producer. So here, have some skittles.

 

I was kidding. But yes... I will take skittles.

 

Last time I ate Skittles, they felt like pure sugar in my teeth. Could I have some dark chocolate?

That depends on your definition of "training".
I traditionally see this as the place where we get a sugar rush and lure in unsuspecting youngsters.

Very well Master @Ananta Chetan I give you a task, and any other Jedi who wish to participate.

A Jedi brings back a young one and claims this is the one prophesied to being balance to the Force. How would you have dealt with such a circumstance, with no knowledge of what was to come, if you had the power to make such a decision?

 

Can my class be "Jedi Sex Goddess"? Asking for a friend

 

With the goal of balance being paramount, I would first attempt to balance myself to my greatest capacity, so that my choices and decisions around such a matter would most potentially be in alignment with the will of the Force.

This might include going into retreat for couple of days to mediate and reflect over the possible destiny of such a child and how it would affect the galaxy. If doing so in a group of fellow Jedi, I would most likely be the voice that would challenge orthodox and overly polarized views on such a matter and encourage people to see beyond their own ideas and identity as a Jedi.

Does anyone think they'd do differently? Would you guide the child, protect them, hide their destiny from them, something else entirely?

I've been rewatching the Clone Wars and considering what a different path Anakin might have ended up on if the Jedi Council has treated him differently, or if Obi-wan hadn't been his teacher, or who knows what other change...

 

I'd train the child the same as any.

It might be a bad idea to tell them about their destiny, especially while they're young and learning how to manage their self-esteem. Telling a child they're going to be important could (very easily) instill a false sense of entitlement. And/or narcissism.

Let's say the child, like Anakin, displays raw power and exceptional talent while knowing of their "great prophesied destiny". How does the teacher then go about convincing the student they should be humble? You're begging the Force for another Darth Vader.

But what if the child's potential seems absent during training? He or she is weak, humble, below average. Your padawan might feel worthless, or feel that you've lied to them. The padawan could even start exaggerating their every small accomplishment to compensate.

I answered your question, Master Daniels. I understand waiting to reward points in case someone else comes along to answer. But you aren't going to at least "Like" my post to tell me that you've read it (the way Bardan does)?

I don't buy it. Ignore me on a personal basis all you want, but we're in a "professional capacity" at the moment.

@Ava G patience is a Jedi trait, one I sense you are currently lacking this is a big planet and not all of us are on at the same time and taking that and work commitments and social ones sometimes it can take a day or two to reply. No one is ignoring you and your post is a little aggressive. @Ananta Chetan doesn't even really get points as he is a former council member. Becca just happened to be around when he answered, please don't take things so personally, we all have lives outside this place .

 

Respectfully, I've been at work and asleep since then, and I was going to leave 24 hours to allow all time zones a chance to read and respond. I regularly don't "like" a post until I've had a chance to read it thoroughly, which I have not.

Be patient, not all of us read and respond immediately, and I was leaving a chance for further discussion.
