Winds of Change: Trudging On

 

I am now at 2545 words and almost finished. Just some details and Dooku is there with all his nasty business

 

About two-thirds of the way through, I think. Always presuming that it all makes sense at the end, of course

*throws the three sentences away* Well, I've decided on the title.

 

So if, for example, a person writes a backwards-time story in the 5+1 format, does it work if the entries are in the challenge thread, posted at the same time, but separate posts? *#454, #455, #456, #457, #458, #459?* Like chapters.

 

I would say unless length necessitates that you split the story up, you should probably post it all in one post. For example: last year @Mira_Jade's story ended up being like 19,000 words, so she split it up into ~6,000 word chunks and posted as she completed them. This isn't a hard and fast metric, but if your story is less than 10,000 words and you have it all finished, it should go in one post because the challenge is to write one complete vignette. Longer stories than that, I'd leave to the writer's discretion. I hope that helps!

 

Ahah, I see. How about embedding my drawings to separate the chunks? kdkdkdkkd text followed by xyxyxyxyxy drawing, and so on, throughout the tale?

 

I've finally stopped fussing with my bye week and posted it already! Week 8, "Paradise", in which Padmé survives childbirth and flees the Empire with Obi-Wan, and TOS compliant funky guitar ensues.

So: I haven't written a new sentence today (though I did get stuck rewriting one) but I have filmed this exciting domestic saga.

 

Kittehs!! Multiple kittehs!

 

He would say you're welcome, but he's all worn out from chasing his big sister around like a stinker and is currently napping, so you'll have to take my word for it

A saga of cats and snacks with a background of books; this is a lot of my favorite things in one place

So who's genuinely writing this vignette backwards and who's writing the scenes in chronological order and then reversing them? I'm the latter, and I've still managed to confuse myself a few times

 

I'm the former, who just today considered writing the latter. Research bogs me down, too ...

 

I'm writing it completely out of order like I do for everything else. Maybe it will start to make sense soon....

 

I'm writing it in the order it will be posted, but I went for the easy way out: an investigator who determines the chain of events that led to the current situation. So I basically have a present-day story moving forward in time within which events of the past are identified moving backwards

 

I am! I mean, l'm also writing it completely out of order and jumping all over the place (I can't write a story from beginning to end to save my life), but the scenes I have written are arranged in reverse chronological order. Also it's kicking my butt, send help.

 

Welcome to the final week of the Kessel Run! I know we've had some tough prompts, but it's been incredible watching all of you consistently rise to meet those challenges over the last three months. If you still need to post your make-up entries from your bye week, you have until tonight at 11:59pm EST to do so. And now with that said, we do have one final order of business...

It's time to post your reverse narrative stories! These are the long vignettes (2,000+ words) that you've been working on for the last eleven weeks. (Or, you know, avoiding for the last eleven weeks, if you're anything like me. ) You still have one week to finish these fics up and get them posted, so even if you haven't made as much progress as you'd like, don't panic! There's still time to finish this thing strong. Just in case, here are the relevant details again:

• Your vignette must be at least 2,000 words, with no maximum word limit.
  
• You must write your story using a reverse narrative (aka, reverse chronology) - basically a backwards story. This could be a story where the final events occur first and the first events occur last, or it could be a story where time literally flows backward rather than forward. However you decide to construct your narrative, the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end.
  
• Entries are due Monday, April 3rd at 11:59pm EST

From Death star to Tetrahedron my week 12 where Vlad Dooku discovers the ultimate weapon

 

Congrats to everyone who's finished their final vigs and their Kessel Runs! You all rock!

I wrote them in chronological order and then I've been jumping around as I edit. And yes, I've confused myself several times.

Altogether my draft is up to about 2100 words and it feels like it's close to being done, I just have to work out a few sections that are still really awkward and clumsy and then shut the Anxiety™ up long enough to toss it into a post.
