Mood. This is the tagline to my life though, honestly. Alongside, "am I overthinking this?"

Just as much emotional whiplash as my drabble thread, now with more words

You don't have words now but you're going to have SO MANY WORDS, ALL OF THE WORDS

 

Oh, I forgot to say... technically speaking, Decathlon of Death wasn't even the title; it was more like a subtitle or an endearing nickname.

Nothing! That's what I loved about doing this last year, you could try to make everything fit into a certain narrative, or you could just write a grab bag of characters and eras and fandoms, and there really wasn't a way to go wrong!

I have no doubt. You gave me some tough ones last year, believe me!

Far be it from me to ever put limits on what you can accomplish. You know I'm looking forward to everything you write for this challenge, and you know I'll enjoy the heck out of a Song!verse thread.

My den mother side wants to tell you that one thread is fine, you maniac. My reader side says, "Have you thought about three?" But Song!verse is an excellent choice, I need more Mara and Maul

So I did actually consider whether to make an exception for existing Kessel Run threads, but ultimately I decided everyone should start this year's challenge fresh, with a brand new thread for 2023.

Good morning, everyone! It’s January 9th, and that means it’s time for the Kessel Run to begin! As this is the first week of the challenge, I have not one, but three prompts for you:

1. The long vignette (2,000+ words) that is due at the very end of the challenge;
2. The “get out of jail free” substitute prompt that can be used in place of any one of the weekly prompts;
3. The secret prompt for Week 1!

Ready? Here we go…

Long vignette
(2,000+ words)​

Over the next twelve weeks, you will write a story using a reverse narrative, or a backwards story. This could be a story where the final events occur first and the first events occur last, or it could be a story where time literally flows backward rather than forward. However you decide to construct your narrative, the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end.

• Word limit = minimum 2,000 words, no maximum limit
• Entries due Monday, April 3rd at 11:59pm EST

Look! I caught one! I caught a plot bunny! I -

*recoils sharply as claws (that seem proportionally too long for something that fits into such a small carrier) lash out, narrowly missing her face*

Eeep! That was close.

I'm not actually sure it's a bunny, exactly, but it's a plot something.

*bounds off towards word processor window, carrying the plot something in the carrier along with her at a more careful arms length*
