Thanks, Finds! Everything is good, just exhausted from a very full weekend out of town and driving home in the snow last night, and then my kids' schools had a snow delay this morning that threw off my usual routine. (So basically: DRL )

I sort of love it whenever I see someone use it tbh; it gives me all the old school JC fanfic feels (I mean, obviously I don't love the reasons people might invoke DRL, because those reasons usually suck. )

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (or, Sousou no Frieren), a manga-turned-anime about a long-lived elven mage who embarks on a journey to the land where souls rest in an effort to reunite with one of her human comrades, many decades after their party of heroes slew the Demon King. Along the way, Frieren forms a new group of companions, endeavors to better understand humans and relationships, and gradually realizes the true impact her long-dead friend had on both her and the world he left behind. There's a lot to love in this show; it features slice-of-life adventures and subtle character moments, as well as more intense drama and action scenes, all expertly woven together with flashbacks to the main character's previous adventures. There's silliness and pathos in equal amount, and even though the setting seems like pretty standard fantasy fare, I found the world immersive and interesting. The show rewards repeat viewings, with excellent story, animation, and music. I watched it in English on Crunchyroll, but there are several dubs, as well as the original Japanese. If you're looking for something cozy but with stakes, I'd definitely give this one a try.

Sorry for the double post, but I just had a really sinister thought to inflict on my readers, er, I mean I had a thought to prolong the suffering of my readers...

Allow me to start again. I had a thought: Can the character find something, but the author keep it hidden from the readers?

 

You sure can!

 

What I like is that it can be a tangible something that is being searched for and something intangible that is found.

 

I'm going to have to take my bye week for the double drabbles; I've had a couple of false starts and I'm just not feeling it right now

So just out of curiosity: If I were to enter the run this weekend. Then finish all the prompts to come, giving me 5 plus the longer vingette, could I then use the Bye Week 11 to do one of the week 1-5 prompts I missed. Thus giving me a total of 6 prompts and the longer vingette thus 7 days of colours? Or is it too late for that?

 

Since you'd be signing up during Week 6, the only prompts that would count toward completion of the KR would be the secret prompts for Weeks 6-10 and the long vignette for Week 12, so unfortunately colors are out at this point. Even so, you're still more than welcome to join in and finish what you can! Your thread would of course go in the index along with everyone else who is participating.

That's right, it's OTP time! For this prompt, please note: the line of dialogue does not need to be spoken by either of the OTP characters, so long as it is spoken by someone in the story. And while an OTP story does center on a romantically-involved couple (canon or otherwise), the stage of the relationship is up to you, and the story does not have to be a romantic one.
