ST The Knights of Ren in Episode 9

Not sure why it matters they are basically imperial guard types in the movie. No time for anything more in a film like this.

they were cool but underused. Thought they should have beat down Kylo/Ben a bit more, which would have made his victory more satisfying. Although I still enjoyed that scene.

 

Visual dictionary fleshes them out

 

They were just too ambiguous in the film. They could’ve been anyone.

 

Totally irrelevant and only a vehicle for selling toys. Just like Phasma.

 

There was one moment in the movie that basically screamed "we are standing here because it looks cool, not because it makes any sort of sense". It's the group-shot of them standing on that large rock-formation some time before Chewie got captured.

Beyond that, they were little but menacing looking background characters who were there to give the appearance of danger to the heroes. They were never more than henchmen, and they got treated like it. Though their end was about as fleshed out as the one of any random stormtrooper

 

Red shirts...

 

They are more fleshed out than imperial guards, Praetorian guards, gamorean guards and temple guards. All cool

 

Not in the film...unless by "fleshed out", you're referring to someone calling them by name.

 

The Imperial guards are my favourite things in star wars id have done anything to see a fight scene with them. Thought the knights of Ren were pretty cool and enjoyed the fight scene

 

I liked seeing Kylo ordering them around to continue the search.

 

They well and truly got Phasmad, as I suspected they would.

 

They all used to be landlords for apartments on Coruscant.

They were the Knights of Rent.

One man's trash is another's treasure. They're lesser-than-Sith/Jedi lackeys, is what it is. There to look cool, provide a "miniboss" battle for Ben-come-good.

All that needed to be. The Sith troopers are what I felt they needed to distinguish more, give some feats of "this ain't your grandaddy's stormtrooper". But that's a minor thing too.

 

Just got that the Knights of Ren's ship, the Night Buzzard, is a dark side version of the Millennium Falcon.

 

These dudebros ended up being super whatever, but at least they were taken out by Ben Solo.

 

Their ship was the Night Buzzard. That alone was a punishable offense.

 

I liked them

 

According the Visual Dictionary the group named themselves after an ancient group of marauders called the Knights of Ren, found in folklore tales from the unknown regions and surrounding territories . Its unknown if they are directly connected to that ancient legendary group or just wrapped themselves in their name and reputation. Snoke gifted these warriors to Kylo Ren after he proved worthy.

 

So in other words, we know as much about them as we did in 2015.

 

Thought they were pretty damned dumb myself. Why didn’t they use the Force at all? They were Luke’s students along with Ben ffs

 

They aren’t Luke’s students. They existed before the temple massacre.
