In reference to another movie (being really really vague here right now) I want an exchange regarding Rose to go like this in IX.

Finn: I need to save Rose!

Rey: Who is Rose?

Poe: Why is Rose?

 

Feels all ready made and tenuous. He seems like more but they are holding back. I feel RJ went on a tangent from where TFA was pointed

 

...his contempt for the past, his loneliness, his evident attraction to Rey, his increased desire to rule, his love for roids....

 

Nevertheless. He's nobody's apprentice. And we are told the FO and Kylo Ren should control the galaxy in no time. That surpasses Vader.

Whether you believe Ren has truly earned that or if Snoke's premeditated death and usurpation is a considerable trophy in comparison to Vader desperately chucking Sidious for his son's sake is not at hand, story wise.
