Guessing that most of us have seen The Last Jedi by now so we can likely discuss the movie freely. What do you think? I've now seen the Last Jedi twice. I thought it was great but somehow still preferred the Force Awakens as regards emotional impact. Having Han, Chewie, Leia, and a brief appearance by Luke in the film really tugged at my heartstrings. There were also a lot of things that stuck with me in the Force Awakens and I'm not sure if this film will have the same long-term effect. Things I liked about the Last Jedi: 1) Visually stunning--some really incredible scenes. 2) The dynamic between Kylo and Rey was great. 3) The pace was good. 4) The porgs! -All of the new creatures/beings were cool. 5) Liked Rose. 6) Liked General Hux and Poe more in this film than last film. 7) Finn was still a great character--wished we had more time with him being serious/conflicted. 8) Once again, amazing music. 9) The duel with Rey, Kylo and the Praetorian guard. Things I was not crazy about: 1) Some "throwaway" characters that seemed unnecessary or to not fit as typical Star Wars personas 2) Not crazy about the DJ or Admiral Hodo characters--even if I really like Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern as actors. 3) Perhaps a little too much "humor"? 4) Too many loose ends. What was up with the x-wing under water? What was up with the original codebreaker? 5) Wished there was more of the jedi training. 6) Wished we saw more of Captain Phasma (especially out of her helmet).
I agree, the movie was fantastic. Also I thought it was odd about the whole “Leia being the only one to survive the bridge explosion” thing. It was cool but a little weird.

Whereas the original trilogy was "told by" R2-D2, it appeared BB-8 may be telling this set because #BB8IsEverywhere. I liked it, and look forward to Episode IX
The Easter Egg referring to Rogue One was nice too. I guess Imperial R&D finally figured out Hyperspace Tracking. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy using a hacked pirate satellite in a decaying orbit
I liked (not loved) it; But I also disliked (not hated) it. I understand in the where and why in Rian’s direction, I just don’t have to accept it. Call me an old throwback, but the original trilogy is the story line I grew up and associate with. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I’ve only seen the movie once so far, but I loved the overall feel of the movie... deathly serious with plenty of comedic moments. My favorite parts were the opening section with Poe and Hux, and the other was a spoiler that I refuse to give in case there’s anyone who’s not seen it yet. (Clue - overkill) Honestly I can’t wait to rewatch it to see what I can catch in the next viewing!
From watching the behind the scenes footage, I get the impression that they really want to justify this movie. I did not have a problem with it, it was a Star Wars movie when before there was none.
