This story just keeps getting better. I'm so glad Breha was allowed to live. It will be very interesting to see what happens once she contacts Obi-Wan. Can't wait for more :)

G__Anakin: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.

    VaderLVR64:

Loved your exploration of Leia's thoughts here. Very realistic.

Thank you, I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to write a child going through emotional turmoil realistically. Thank you for your kind words.

Starwen_Skywalker: Thank you, the next chapter I'll be going into Breha's situation, and Alderaan's situation as a whole.

I can understand why Vader would be so angry.

Poor Leia, poor Bail ? that?s quiet a painful way to go.

I?m glad Breha is going to be let go.

I felt so bad for Leia in this. Poor thing, to be so scared of this monster you've never met, and told he's your father. You showed that wonderfully. Poor thing.

Palpatine was being manipulative as always. Letting Vader grovel, not being as pleased as he could have been... I wonder what he is up to. Something tells me he has a plan for Leia.

*sigh* Bail, poor Bail. I knew it was coming, but the poor man... He didn't deserve that, even though it had to happen. *kicks Vader* He's so misinformed...

Much =D=, Kelli. Wonderful as always. I can't wait to find out how Leia continues to work through this.

I loved Vader's conversation with Leia. The details were fabulous. I loved her hinding under the covers, and then coming out to meet him- already brave at 7. :) She'll need it.

Was worried to see the Emperor enter the picture, just like Vader is, but at least we know Breha will survive to contact Obi-Wan.

Poor Bail. I can't help but wonder if the Death Star was more merciful...

As much as I'd like to see the Vader/Obi rematch, I think Leia might do for him what Luke did in RotJ. I'm hoping for her.

    Great chapter. =D=

    Oh man! Poor Bail!! :_|

And I have to worry about Leia. Is there any way she could have sensed that? Either way, she is in for a rough road. I know she is one tough cookie but gosh, her world has been ripped apart, right before her eyes.

What an astounding chapter! I really loved it, Kelli! This story is moving along at such an excellent pace. Great, great job! =D=

Looking forward to more! What can I say? I'm a greedy reader! :p

Wow:eek: What a chapter! And how quickly you update! And how great are the updates?! And how many question and exclamation marks can I use after each line?!!!

The interrogation scene was magnificent, and the scene with the Emperor was brilliantly done, not being able to see his face really hacking Vader off.[face_mischief]

I love the fact that Vader equates the lies told to him with the lies told to Leia (in his mind).

    And Obi is next? Yahoo!=D=

    Just brilliant

What a devestating ending. Poor Bail - he paid such a harsh price for doing the right thing.

I'm glad to see Breha is being released...though I can't help but wonder what kind of life she will be allowed to live [face_worried] [face_worried] [face_worried] Hopefully she can contact Obi-Wan.

And Vader -
Interesting that he's in no hurry to take Leia to the Emperor...at least he's showing her some mercy.

    Great update

I foresee Kenobi in the near future maybe??? :D [face_praying]

Very realistic thoughts on Leia's part here Kelli. Everyone see's Vader as a monster, which of course he was. I wonder what his thoughts are on the fact that even his own child see's him this way, and fears him. I liked the "I'm am your father", very much. :D Very nice tie in there with TESB.

Bail's fate was horrific, but I expected no less. Nice Vader and Palp's interaction. You wrote Sidious' reaction to the news of Vader's child perfect. I can almost see it, and is very close to the scene between Vader and Sidious in TESB and the book Shawdows of the Empire which is the same as the movie scene.

This is very nice, and is definately a story that needed to be told about the "what if" had Vader found out his offspring had survived before they were grown. I'm interested to see how he would have handled that with the Emperor.

I just wanted to thank everyone for reading and thank everyone for reviewing. I really appreciate you taking the time, they really give me encouragement.

Amidala66: Yes, Leia is confused and terrified and at this point she has no idea that Bail is dead. This is going to be a rough road for her, but fortunately she's very strong for one so young.

    darthzeppo:

I can understand why Vader would be so angry.

Yes, given the state Vader is in at this moment, I can understand his anger too. He doesn't see that Leia was being protected.

    Luna_Nightshade:

Palpatine was being manipulative as always. Letting Vader grovel, not being as pleased as he could have been... I wonder what he is up to. Something tells me he has a plan for Leia.

As I said on another thread, when does Palpatine not have a plan? The man has been plotting since he was in the womb. ;)

    padawanlost:

I loved Vader's conversation with Leia. The details were fabulous. I loved her hinding under the covers, and then coming out to meet him- already brave at 7. She'll need it.

Oh yes, she'll definately need it. It's a good thing Leia comes from such strong biological parents and the raising she recieved from Bail and Breha has made her strong as well.

As much as I'd like to see the Vader/Obi rematch, I think Leia might do for him what Luke did in RotJ. I'm hoping for her.

I don't know, this is a completely different situation. It has only been seven years and Vader's rage against all whom he claims wronged him is still very fresh. Leia will have an effect on Vader, but her presence does not necessarily mean that he'll return to the light.

    VA_Parky:

What an astounding chapter! I really loved it, Kelli! This story is moving along at such an excellent pace. Great, great job!

Thank you so much for your kind words of enouragement.

    cdmcc:

What a chapter! And how quickly you update!

I try to do both of my stories' updates once per week. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to go at that pace, but I'll go as long as I can.

    The interrogation scene was magnificent,

Thank you, I was nervous about that part.

I love the fact that Vader equates the lies told to him with the lies told to Leia (in his mind).

I guess Vader felt that he and Leia could bond over the fact that they were both lied to. :)

    KELIA:

I'm glad to see Breha is being released...though I can't help but wonder what kind of life she will be allowed to live

Her life will be different. Next chapter, I'll be describing Alderaan's situation with their new Imperial governor. Breha's life, and the life of her planet is about to change radically.

Interesting that he's in no hurry to take Leia to the Emperor...at least he's showing her some mercy.

It's not really mercy at this point. Vader is in no hurry for the Emperor to influence his daughter. He has plans for Leia and Sidious would mess those up.

    THE_PIED_PIPER:

Bail's fate was horrific, but I expected no less. Nice Vader and Palp's interaction. You wrote Sidious' reaction to the news of Vader's child perfect. I can almost see it, and is very close to the scene between Vader and Sidious in TESB and the book Shawdows of the Empire which is the same as the movie scene.

I've never read that book, but I'm glad you are seeing parallels to another work that you liked. About Bail, I actually could have made it even more horrific, but this site only allows so much violence. In a way, I think that is best; alot of it can be left to the reader's imagination.

This is very nice, and is definately a story that needed to be told about the "what if" had Vader found out his offspring had survived before they were grown.

Thank you, I've read many stories where Luke was found as a child; but I rarely, if ever, found a story when just Leia was found as a child. I guess this is my humble attempt to fill that gap. :)

there is absolute sadness everywhere...except i have a feeling that Sidious is the only one that isn't feeling upset, mad, or angry...no, i think that guy feels pretty content with his life - as always. ;)

Sorry that I missed a chapter. DRL has been very evil lately. But luckily I found some time now to read this interesting story.

Well, chapter two...So much going on there. I loved the way you showed Organa family (I love the Organas ;) ), their confused feelings and fears.

The door opened to reveal a monster straight out of nightmares.

For some reason, that sentence made me shiver. There's something you write...It makes me feel the way I have never felt before. You kinda make me look Vader in different eyes. I love Vader, and I always have felt that there is Anakin inside him...But now I feel like he would be totally different person. That Anakin would be completely gone with the loss of the fatherhood.

    Well, I don't know. :p

You write Leia well. Poor girl! She is so lost and confused! I hope that Palpy doesn't hurt her in the future. You never know when it comes to him.

And poor Bail...He suffered in vain. He never deserved that.

What can I say...Great job, I can't wait to read more! Please keep me on the PM list, because I don't want to miss any chapter of this fascinating story!

Yes, right now Sidious is doing fine. He's got ultimate power, an apprentice who does his bidding, and the possibility of another Skywalker to ensnare. Sidious is very content with life right now. :)

great chapter. the bone crushing part got to me the most.

I was going to make that worse and go into more detail with the interrogation, but I was aware of this site's rules.

That is one of the best compliments I've had in a while. I'm so glad that I make you see Vader in different lights. That particular scene was Leia's POV, of course she would think of Vader as a monster. At this point in Vader's life, he has very few redeeming qualities.

And poor Bail...He suffered in vain. He never deserved that.

    No, he didn't.

    Chapter 4:

Breha Organa was alone?truly alone for the first time in her life. It seemed like it had been an eternity since her husband was taken away from the holding cell. In reality, it had only been about eight hours. In those hellish hours, Breha was tortured by thoughts of what her husband and daughter were going through.

Bail was being interrogated; tortured, he's being tortured. Vader had informed her that her husband was to be interrogated and then executed for the crimes of kidnapping and associating with an enemy of the Empire. He's being executed for asking Obi-Wan to let us raise Anakin Skywalker's child. Now, the creature that once called himself by that name was back to claim his child. He has no right!

Leia was another matter; her beautiful daughter was now just as much of a prisoner as she was. Breha did not think that Vader would physically harm Leia, but there were other things that could cause harm. The queen did not know much about the Force and the Sith Order. Bail had told her some of what he learned from the Jedi, but there was still much she did not understand.

When Leia was brought to Alderaan, Bail told Breha that their adopted daughter had a strong connection to the Force, just like her father. It was three years later that Bail told his wife the whole story and just who Leia's biological father actually was. Now, what was left of Anakin Skywalker had her sweet baby in his grasp. Breha hoped and prayed that he would not teach her the dark side of the Force.

The sound of her cell door opening interrupted Breha's thoughts. To her horror, Vader was on the other end of the door. "Your Highness, you will be returned to Alderaan immediately."

Breha stood up, "Where is my husband?" She already knew the answer to her question, but she asked it nonetheless.

Vader looked down at the distraught queen, "He was executed ten minutes ago, his body will be returned to the palace within the hour; dispose of the remains however you see fit."

It was the final confirmation of her greatest fear. Bail, how I am going to go on without you, and without Leia? It was all the queen could do to remain standing. She wanted to curl into a ball and weep, even in front of Lord Vader. Breha could barely utter her next question, "Where is Leia?"

The Sith Lord seemed to grow taller and even more forbidding, "She is no longer any concern of yours. Be grateful that you are not being charged as an accessory in your husband's crime."

Breha asked her next question knowing that she would be denied, but she would never forgive herself for not doing so, "Can I see her one more time?"

"Absolutely not! My daughter will not spend one more second in your custody."

The queen flinched at the words, "my daughter." She knew it, but hearing those words come from the mouth of the galaxy's most infamous murderer was especially painful. Tearfully, Breha tried once more to reason with Vader. "Can she, at least, be brought up some of her favorite toys, so she has something familiar around her?"

Vader refused, "I will provide everything she needs." The Sith activated his communicator, "escort the queen to the shuttle and have her taken back to the palace."

Within seconds, two stormtroopers arrived and took the queen out of the detention area. Breha wanted to die as she saw the prison her daughter was now in getting smaller and smaller as the shuttle got closer to the surface of Alderaan. Oh Leia, please don't forget me.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was meditating when he felt a major disturbance in the Force. He tried to go deeper into his meditation for answers, but he could not determine the source. All he knew was that something had changed drastically, and it was not for the better.

As he sought his answer, the Force directed him to open his eyes. Before him was the ghostly image of Qui-Gon Jinn. This was not the first time his former master had visited him. It had taken Obi-Wan over a year to finally be able to contact the dead Jedi from the nether

    Poor Breha:_|

"It makes you feel better, doesn't it, to keep Vader and Anakin separate? You can tell yourself that it was Vader that betrayed the Jedi, killed the younglings, and bowed his knee to a Sith Lord; because Anakin would have never done those things. You are deceiving yourself if you believe that. It was Anakin Skywalker who swore allegiance to a Sith Lord, it was Anakin Skywalker who ruthlessly destroyed every Jedi and youngling in the temple, and it IS Anakin Skywalker who enforces his Sith master's dominion over the galaxy.

    I agree with this 100%

Adored Qui-Gon's appearance. Can't wait to see Yoda. Emergency indeed!

Breha is in a really bad spot here. No one can imagine loosing a husband and a daughter like that, but knowing who's responsible and that you are powerless is the truly painful part. I hope she can find some way to deal with her loss. At least it can't drive her to the dark side.

    Wonderful as always, =D=

Oh, I felt so bad for Breha in this. I can't imagine losing both your daughter and your husband on the same day, then having to return home to see your daughter's toys and your husband's broken body. It makes me so sad to think of that utter atrocity. I don't know how she can possibly do what she must, but she knows that she has to get her daughter back.

I loved seeing Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon talk together, especially with Qui-Gon's adamant refusal to call Vader... Vader. Qui-Gon understands many things. I hope that Obi-Wan will be able to find out how to help Breha and find Leia again.

And the picture of Bail's body was just sad. *sigh* So awful to imagine what he went through.

Much =D=, Kelli_LB. It is so sad, but wonderfully written, and I can't wait to see how Obi-Wan and Breha attempt to rally after this. Wonderful work as always!
