The Lower House of the EU Senate

    Introductions

The lights of a thousand stars elongate, smear together, and suddenly, you?re in hyperspace.

    [image=http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/d/d1/Hyperspacetunnel.jpg]

And, almost as suddenly, you?re not, yanked out of hyperspace by the drifting nebula known as Adalia Point.

No, you haven?t made a wrong turn on your way to the munitions world of Adumar or to see the haunted ruins of Nirauan, or mis-jumped into a star while looking for the Chiss, you?ve arrived in the EUC System. So called as the EUC is an acronym for the Expanded Universe Community, a neutral system with no ties to the galaxies hearts of commerce, politics or war.

The Expanded Universe Community is a home from home for many of the galaxies pilots and explorers. A way point between the Unknown Regions and the mainstream galaxy, it has become a location for dead-end Sith, scouting Jedi, and the site of innumerable Mandalorian clans, pilot communities and even a Yuuzhan Vong colony and a Church of Waru. It's position makes it a delicate game of political back-and-forth, with it being roughly the same distance from Bastion and Coruscant and Csilla, it has a varying Imperial and Alliance presence, depending upon the interests of the time and place. Roughly a decade after the defeat of Darth Krayt, the system has entered a boom period as the disjointed remnants of the One Sith are driven into hiding, and the Shadow Wars have finally passed...

The Rules of the Lower House

The Lower House of the Senate will run as a game. While events in the Upper House can be acknowledged within it, by and large the Lower House is its own environ, to allow for the more dramatic and perhaps cut-throat aspects of the Star Wars. Every fan club in the EUC will be entitled to a presence here, and can play its games here to the manner it wishes, or not, as it is.

    Notes:

    Stellar Cartography 1-0-1

The EUC System is a mysterious one because it has so many worlds which have been partially terraformed, or, in some cases, entirely. While there is only one actual planet that can harbour life, there are dozens of moons to the three out-system gas giants that are habitable, and there are even rumours that the flash-burned planet at the heart of the system, close to the systems single sun, has habitable portions. The main planet, the heart and hub-bub of the system (but not exclusively), is called New Coruscant, or ?Little? Coruscant. Some people just call it Coruscant, because they have no hope of making it to the one in the Core worlds from way out here in the fringes. For those of you who know such things, the EUC System is located within grid coordinates I8 of the galaxy. All of the innumerable moons that orbit the gas giants are up for grabs, but most political entities have elected for a single moon as a presence, in accordance with the bylaws of the Senate. Anything more... well, we might not take it too well!

    Military Presence

Every member of the EUC System is entitled to a single one-man craft. It can be military in nature, or simply a pleasure snubfighter, whatever they choose. Political groups ? with four members or more ? are entitled to a transport, no large than a 100m in length, which can be of any persuasion. As a system at the edge of the galaxy, and also one with prior exploration by unknown forces, any vessel or political faction from the Star Wars can be used, be it ancient Krath, members of the Twin Suns, or the modern Imperial Knights. Everything and everyone is available to everyone. Superweapons no longer exist, and cloaking devices simply are not feasible in this era.

    The Game as it Runs

In short, it runs however the hell it likes.

All the game would ask is that you preface your messages with an italicised message stating where you are. For example:

Relationship between the EUC System and the ABY Time System

Time, of course, was a novel concept in the EUC System due to the peculiarities of its orbits and its stars rotation. Further, it seemed to sit within a gravitational eddy that was one part similar to the Maw, and two parts similar to the phenomena surrounding Iego. This in turn meant that recent recorded history in the EUC System started roughly fifteen years ago, according to internal calendars (after a few abortive efforts in other systems within the eddy at colonisation), but was actually founded twenty four years after the Battle of Yavin and is currently now within the time period after the fall of Darth Krayt. Age seems to be an alien concept to these people, but their knowledge of the outer galaxy is incomplete, as historians discover new epics within the galaxy - currently historians are serialising the era of the Great War and subsequent Cold War, and the other stories of Kerra Holt, Abeloth and the foundation of the Jedi.

There was a quite limited pool of candidates, as the acting Chancellor had refused to throw his name into the hat. Similarly, Insipid doubted Adalia would without some prodding. The Sith Lord was barred from entering the race, because of his roles as a Sector-wide Moderator - a kind of police officer who had powered devolved from the TFN Sector government. To hold office in a star system and also to be a sector official conflicted. But to represent a planet or planetoid within a single star system, that was fine. His counterpart, 'Jello' was an Imperial diehard who spent most of his time elsewhere, but he was similarly constrained. Insipid was responsible for three star systems within the sector, while Jello was responsible for two, although his other system was considerably more busy - and messy, in Insipid's opinion - and he spent most of his time there.

They skies are a lavender colour but turn yellow at sunset and midnight blue at night. Near to the base which stretches over a two kilometre area, in an Octagonal shape, there is a large waterfall, which falls into a deep lake before draining away into an underground system, but the drainage is through very small holes and no suction is ever felt. Members are often found swimming here. The Ships are housed in the centre of the Octagon, in an area that has a retractable roof. It retracts in 8 sections and can be done one section at a time. Living quarters are all way round the outside with common areas, offices, briefing rooms and social outlets on the inside.

There are NO major predators known, but it is alive with plant and animal life. It?s a big place and there are many areas that have not been explored. There is a satellite security system in place, which is shielded and cloaked so it cannot be detected from off world, but it protects the inhabitants by alerting them to danger early and sheilding the base.

    Darth Insipid was dead.

He, Sinrebirth, also known as Aden Kya, formerly said Sith Lord, knew this, because he'd killed him. Placed his hands around the throat of the madman, and throttled him within an inch of his life. And then, as realisation entered the Dark Lord's eyes, he'd placed the lightsaber to Insipid's heart, and ignited the blade, killing him. The Dark Lord died for the fifth time that day, and his soul was too fragile, too broken, and Sinre felt it shred as it ebbed from the mortal plain.

Now, this didn't make a great deal of difference to the rest of the galaxy, because the man who had killed Darth Insipid was, in-fact, a clone.

A rogue one, quite clearly, who had developed his own personality thanks to Darth Ardeur, who had severed the link between this clone and its creator, allowing the dormant soul within to awaken. Naming himself Darth Malkuth, he had defeated Insipid, and unified the two warring parts of the New Sith Order into one design, once again. He had then, of course, abdicated, as he had never been interested in power, and only in putting down his progenitor once and for all. The Sith, after the long wars, were so few in numbers that they had withdrew into the shadows, leaving him be.

As such, if you addressed this man as Aden Kya, or Sinrebirth, or Darth Malkuth, or Darth Insipid, you would strictly speaking be correct, and he would answer to those names, for they were all his, and all correct.

Darth Insipid blinked out of the haze of memories, and reconnected to the present, the slowing turbolift - old and creaky - stopping with a jolt and snapping him out of his reverie. The doors swung open, and Insipid strode forward, his lightsaber dangling and swaying as he walked. A security guard wordlessly detached the weapon as he met the grizzled Wookiee, and the Sith nodded, smiling politely and breezing into the Senate chambers itself. Dusty and empty, the New Year had left the massive room somewhat desolate, and Insipid was simply popping in to check the house. He was the Senator for the Church of Waru, or the all-but defunct Sith.

With a smile, he took his seat in his pod, and started checking his mail. He could have done this from home, but it was always nice to commute in from Daritha and keep a hand on the pulse of events. Also, if there were any Senators about, they tended to congregate in their offices and not here. So, it was quiet but he was at work, and away from home. It felt like he was actually doing something, and if anything was going to happen, it would happen in this chamber. Elections were looming, and the Sith absently wondered who would run. The last election had been a political turnabout, with a Sith Lord elected with a Jedi as a Vice Chancellor... a perverse arrangement which only highlighted the weaknesses of the Sith Order. That same Sith Lord was then called up to fight, and departed, the Vice Chancellor choosing a Mandalorian to be his second... leaving the GA representatives completely in the dark. All-in-all, the dalliance between the Sith, Jedi and Mandalorians seemed to have run smoothly, and nobody who was interested in politics could complain... well, they could, but nobody did.

Insipid missed the GA contribution, as his old foe - Adalia Durron - was a lovely woman, and quite the razor-sharp mind. The 'Mother of the EUC' she was a renowned woman and loved by all. Atypically, 'all' was primarily made up of the Wing of fighter squadrons the wily Admiral had under her command, and nobody could argue with that force of star pilots...

He wondered where she was, at New Year...

... Insipid pulled up another screen on his terminal - the highly illegal and heavily encrypted one used by the Sith - and began to hunt for her, closing out all distractions and re-entering the great political game.

The Akrian Moon Base - Her Office

Pushing the data pad aside Adalia sighed loudly, she was sick to death of the routine and bordem this place gave her. She was a pilot, a fighter pilot, not a politition and all this paper work and talk was slowly driving her mad. Groaning she leaned back in her chair and stretched her arms above her head. Another boring patrol report written, another day with 8 hours of nothing, oh, if you don't take into account the daily running of the base. The Food orders were arriving later today, maintenance needed some more power couplings, and she hoped the new SIMs were coming as it was clear her squadron were getting lazy and careless. Getting up she wandered to the nearby one way window and gazed out at the ships in the hangar. Two out on patrol, patrol that these days always ended in mind numbingly boring reports of nothing much at all.

The Senate had broken for the New Year break and coming back to base made perfect sense at the time, even now it made some sense. But the break couldn't end fast enough for Adalia, she needed to be moving again, even if it was only to New Coruscant. Turning back toward her desk something pulled at her mind. Adalia wasn't Force sensitive, but she did rely heavily on something she liked to call 'a woman intuition'. She wasn't sure what it was, but someone or something was looking for her, she could feel it in her gut. Frowning she wondered who, or better still why? It would be nice if it were important, but she suspected it was just someone who needed a new button for their uniform and maybe a pillow for their bunk. Stang she wished 'something' would happen!!

Echoes rang out along the Senate halls as Bardan walked his patrol route. As the Director for Senate Security he had access to the security feeds of course, but he still preferred to patrol on his own, to see things with his own eyes as it were. Well, his own eyes augmented by the buy'ce that always seemed to be perched on his head. Besides, the aruetiise here in the Senate never seemed to be able to make heads nor tails of him. By walking his own beat it helped to keep them off balance. And keeping them off balance amused him.

He had worked for both sides of the cultural divide between Sith and Jedi in his time here. And he admitted to himself, if no one else, that the leaders of the two factions here had earned his respect. But he had never fully commited himself to either. His loyalty was always to whomever he was contracted to at the time, and was always for sale to the highest bidder. Ever since he had ventured off of Oya that contract had been to the Senate. Through Adalia's GA administration, the golden age of the New Senate, through Sith and even Jedi chancellors, Bardan had been retained as the head of Security for the Senate. Whether they had kept him on merely to keep an eye on him he didn't know. Nor did he care, his payment was the same either way.

Now the Senate Halls were nearly empty, the Senators having returned to their various worlds for the Life Day holidays. So Bardan's footsteps echoed through the building as he checked on the various offices and conference rooms, ensuring nothing was amiss. A small message appeared in his HUD informing him that Senator Sinre had entered the Senate Chambers themselves, alone. Just what was he up to? Whether it was the resurection of this very Senate, or attempting to subvert the GA or Jedi contigents, the Dark Lord was always working on some scheme. Bardan considered whether to interupt the Sith or not, but decided against it. So long as Lord Sinre wasn't bothering anyone else, it was none of Bardan's concern.

Instead he continued on his way, wondering when the other Senators would return. It should be soon. After all they would be holding elections for a new Chancellor soon, and nothing brought about Senatorial activity as much as the mad scramble for power that was an election.

Darth Insipid, even in his intense concentration, felt the attention of old Bardan. The Director of Senate Security was a delightful man, for a Mandalorian, a truly cultured barve, as he would probably refer to himself. But always careful to ensure he was not influenced by the aruetiise. Insipid would have reached out and played with the man's footing for novelty factor, but he was beyond such things and this slicing required all his attention.

He was not particularly technical, and usually relied upon old allies or even enemies such as Vincent Mikaru or Kev-Mas Colcha to do his handy work. But Sinre was determined to complete this little bit of mockery himself. It was necessary, after all, to keep himself sharp. And... there. Off went the message, practically untraceable, to Adalia-Durron's own account. Hiding it had been difficult, but not beyond him. Sinre flexed his hands, and turned back to the news downloads; he had set up a program to idly tick one or two for him, and to scroll them. With keywords such as 'Sith' or 'Chancellor' or 'Elections', the program would appear to show Sinre browsing the net.

Satisfied, Sinre pulled up a news entry himself, which had the most hits.

Chancellor Wiggins had just declared the elections were open.

Darth Insipid leaned forward, smiling at the news. Insipid was responsible for three star systems within the sector, while Jello was responsible for two, although his other system was considerably more busy - and messy, in Insipid's opinion - and he spent most of his time there.

This was all interesting, he mused, as he considered the nature of the system - and marvelled in it - but didn't help him nominate. He had to nominate, as an empty Senate would be horrifying for him personally. Anarchy bred sedition, and sedition bred chaos. Insipid was opposed to Chaos, and much preferred Order. Much. This was a philosophical novelty to many who knew him personally, as he was responsible for much of the chaos in the galaxy at any one particular time. But that was different: Conflict was a necessary aspect of society, for it to be able to grow, and evolve. Conflict defined Order. As such, Insipid was well within his philosophical rights to mess around with a few heads.

And so he leapt aboard the band-wagon when he saw Adalia's motion, and gladly, with a grin upon his lips, seconded the nomination of Bardan to the post of Chancellor. That would cause some conflict for the Mandalorian, no doubt. Then again, there had never been a Mandalorian Chancellor of the EUC System, nor the greater Republic, Empire, New Republic or the Alliance. So it might be interesting to see... good for the system, even.

Sinre wondered if he had time to get back to his ship before Bardan confronted him about the nomination.

Time, of course, was a novel concept in the EUC System due to the peculiarities of its orbits and its stars rotation. her office....still

Having sat back down she'd started reading the latest news feed. An election had been called and nominations for the new Chancellor were being called for. Sitting back she considered the options, they were few, but one stood out to her. The Galaxy needed a fresh change, a breath of fresh air as it were. Leaning forward she smiled slightly as she entered the name of the Mandolorain Bardan_Jusik , the current Director of Senate Security. She wondered if anyone would second her motion, and more so how the Mandolorian would react to her nomination. That remained to be seen, but she suspected that he'd be a little stunned before taking the nomination on knowing there was pay involved. Financial reward was his lifeblood.

At the top of her screen a message indicator popped up and the thought of something interesting caught her attention. Opening the message she raised a single eyebrow as she read the message.

"Wanna play a game?". Glancing toward the 'sender' box she was more than a little surprised to see it read 'anonymous'. Frowning she considered her options. Being as she was no slicer, she'd have to call someone in to trace it, but not being sure as to what this was about she decided to keep this to herself for now. Pursing her lips she carefully worded a reply.

    "You've got my attention."

    Still walking around the Senate

He was nearly finished with his rounds when a number of messages began to appear in his HUD. The members of the security forces, mongrel, clone and droid alike, were congratulating him over his nomination to the Office of Chancellor. Nomination? What nomination? Who would nominate him after the debacle that was the last time he had run for the office? The election that had cemented the Sith/Jedi alliance that had ruled for the past 6 months.

He quickly accessed the Senate record and found the nomination had been transmitted from the Akrian base. Senator Adalia had nominated him? Now that was a surprise. Bardan had great respect for the warrior/pilots of the Wild Knightz, but to think that they would nominate him for the job was...confusing. Still there were not alot of candidates to go around. Very few in the system had the stomach for politics, and many of those that did had taken themselves out of the running already. The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor had both stated in no uncertain terms that they would not run. Many of the other Senators were seen only fleetingly, for important votes and had not expressed opinions on the daily goings on of the Senate.

But despite that, there were still numerous others who were more than qualified to run the Senate, and who could undoubtedly do a better job of it than Bardan. He believed in a small government, one that allowed for a man or woman to stand on their own merit witout interference from the Senate. The curent citizens of the system seemed more than able to keep conflict to a minimum and could police themselves without resorting to Senatorial protection. That was unlikely to change in the near furture as the TF.N oversector had been cut off to new arrivals due to some sort of spacial anomaly. Bardan found himself wondering if the Senate was really even needed anymore at all.

Dropping that thought, Bardan continued to peruse the Senate logs, the nomination had been seconded by Senator Sinre! Lord Sinre and Madam Former Chancellor working together? To nominate a Mandalorian? It was too rich and the idea of a Mandalorian Chancellor, a Mand'alor of the Senate, amused him to no end. Very well, Bardan would run again for Chancellor. Perhaps this time he would even win.

Pushing away from the terminal where she'd just sent the message to the Unknown Invitation about a game, she got up and decided it might be time to head to New Coruscant. Nothing was happening on base, infact NOTHING was happening anywhere, but with an election coming up, she knew someone would be there. The lithe female wandered aimlessly around the halls of the new Senate building. Her travels and personal issues had taken her away from the happenings of the people she once knew so well. Now she felt so overwhelmed that she wasn't sure if it was worth getting back into or not. Though, those feelings could still be lingering personal issues. Her fingertips trailed lightly along the walls as she tried to familiarize herself with her new surroundings.

It figures he'd change everything once he took over. She thought grimly to herself as she continued down the hall.

Her footsteps echoed behind her as she reminisced about the life she once had. Her alter self, Sey, had once been a beloved ruler of this star system. She had known everything that was happening in every part of this galaxy.

That life was gone. All that remained was Darth Ardeur, a woman with a tragic story revolving around love, heartbreak, and revenge.

Ardeur had lost count of the number of Insipid clones she'd destroyed or enabled someone else to destroy. It was never enough though for the torment he'd put her through.

She wasn't here for revenge this time. She had a feeling there was another female would would take care of this latest version of the man she once loved.

Instead she was here to take back what was once hers.

He smiled at her comments, and simply shrugged, typing in a one liner. You'll see, my dear, you'll see. Insipid put his comlink back into his robes, and, sensing where the holocams were, flicked his hand, inside his robe to conceal the movement, flashing them. But Insipid's intent was not so small - he fried the entire system, as blanking one room would be incredibly obvious.

And then he hopped out of his pod into the Chancellor's Podium, and took the chair, lounging within it, arms behind his head, and affecting an expression of disdain while he levitated a single datacard into the port, to ensure he left no prints. Darth Insipid smiled, as he sensed Ardeur about. She didn't like him, even though he was no longer the man who he once was.

He absently wondered if the Chancellor-to-be was panicking that his holocam system had just crashed.

Still surprised by his nomination, Bardan knew he would have to be a quick study on the poilitics of the region. He was a soldier, not a politician and would require someone knowledable in the ways of government to add to his ticket as Vice-Chancellor. Senator Adalia had helped him on his first campaign, and as a former Chancellor herself was clearly more qualified than Bardan himself for the job. But he was unsure if she wanted to deal with the politics of the realm any longer. Lord Sinre was right out, disqualified by his status as a sector mod. *OOC: Maybe we can start calling that a sector moff :p*

Both the current Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor were also out of the running. Both had indicated that they were far too busy to consider running themselves, so the Mandalorian dropped them for consideration. Despite this, there was still a large pool of qualified candidates. A surprising series of private communiques solidified which one would run with Bardan. But he still wondered who his oponenet would be, or if there was to be one at all.

Senator TEE, Dark Lady of the Sith had been selected by the current governemnt to run as their successor. But she had declined the nomination. Too bad, she would have made a most worthy adversary. Who else would step up to oppose Bardan in his run for Chancellor? Who else could st...

His train of thought was dirupted as an alarm in his HUD announced that the security holo-cam network had been disrupted. Shab, this could be a prelude to an attack. He issued orders to the security forces to prepare to lock down the building. The clone troopers and droids were to increase their patrols and record everything on their own intgrated holo-cams. Bardan himself rushed to the nearby Senate chamber.

Where he stopped short when he saw Senator Sinre, sitting in the Chancellor's chair. Bardan waved an amored finger at the Dark Lord. "You are sitting in my future seat darjetti." Seeing him there, Bardan came to a quick conclusion. "I suppose we have you to thank for the crash of the secuirty cameras." Bardan relaxed a little, Insipid wouldn't attack the Senate, he had worked too hard to rebuild it. "Since you are here, I will let you be the first to know. I have a running mate; Darth Ardeur shall be Vice Chancellor." Sinre had made Bardan scramble about, now it was Sinre's turn to be...uncomfortable.

    Surprised

Darth Insipid blinked, cut off before he could make a glib comment to Bardan, and then surprised even more so. Closing his eyelids over yellow sclera, the Sith Lord scowled, and then smiled, politely. "I couldn't comment on the holo-cam's. I was simply reminiscing when I received a comlink message. It was almost simultaneous to that that the holo-cams went off... at which point I thought it best to take the chair rather than be in a floating pod in case the power cut..."

He lazily produced his comlink. "This was the message I received. I don't know who it's from."

Of course, the interaction would only show one side of the discussion, and it would not show his commentary. It also wouldn't show who it was from. No, Bardan would have to work at that. As such, all the comlink record said of the anonymous discussion was this: "You've got my attention."

Insipid adopted an exaggerated scowl. "I was about to report it in, when everything cut..." He leaned forward, pointing at the datacard with a gloved hand. "And I noticed this."

"It's not mine, but I imagine it's interesting. And encrypted, to boot." Insipid refused to give Bardan a reaction to his former apprentices nomination. He had not expected it, and it wouldn't factor well into this scheme, but he had to ride it out now. "I'm deeply concerned by it, actually, because even from the outside that tech does not look GA, Chiss or Imp standard..."

It was all about the bait. Mando's loved stealing tech. It was all a fun game, and Insipid had his endgame in mind, that he did. The encryption on his comlink was from the same tech source - and those guys had been using their own tech, and their own language, and their own script, since before the Republic was even an idea in Coruscant's single-cell organisms mind. Insipid smiled. Hopefully it'd hold until the rest of his scheme was in place.

"So, how are the parents? Proud of their son?"

He smiled, cheerfully. "Got any platforms in mind yet, you and the Sith Drama Queen?"

Having gotten clearance, Adalia decided to check her messages before she left.

"Squirt, can you bring up my messages please?" Behind her her R2 unit beeped a cheerful sounding 'sure' sound. Part of her was hoping that the annonomous person wishing to 'game' would respond, but her gut had already told her who this was. It was his style to be silent and deadly, she had to be careful here. Sure enough, there was a message.

"You'll see, my dear, you'll see." She smiled, yep, the 'my dear' gave him away. Pulling the datachip she'd saved the last messages on out of her clevage and pushed it into the reader.

"Squirt, add this message to this chip will you, let me know when its done." Once again the droid chirped, as Adalia went about her final checks before leaving. She'd gotten clearance already and was ready to head to New Coruscant. Suddenly Squirt let out a chirp and beep that caught her attention, one that let her know someone strange had happened. Frowning she turned back to screen.

"What is it?" The screen flickered slightly before a message came up.

CPL_Macja has nominated Adalia Durron for Chancellor

She stared for a handful of seconds before snorting and rolling her eyes. "Great, just great." She sighed. "I don't even have a running mate!" Shaking her head she decided to think on this when she got to New Coruscant. "Ok, thanks Squirt, is the message saved?" She got a quick beep to indicate yes. "Thanks buddy." she said as she removed the chip and slipped it back down her top under the undergarments, there was only one person who was ever retrieving that without a fight. "OK, let's go Squirt"

Bardan ignored the Sith's excuses as he plucked the comm link from the Senator's hand. It was likely that Bardan would never know the truth of what Darth Insipid had or had not done when the holo-cams had gone off line. Nor whether the Dark Lord was responsible for it or not. "Senate Security and Clone Intelligence will look this over. Perhaps they can glean something useful from it." Bardan didn't believe for an instant Insipid's recounting of the circumstances of the message. The phrase "you have my attention" was more of a response than an opening statement of some gambit. No Bardan was sure that the Sith Lord before him knew what was going on. But further interogation would just lead to more lies and half truths, it was the way of the Sith and once someone understood that, it made it far easier to deal with them. So unless CI could decipher more from the comm-link, Bardan would have to wait and see what the darjetti had planned.

"My buire are just fine, darjetti. As for the plans for my upcoming promotion. I think that can be summed up as freedom, growth and order. Sure to resonate with any member of our fair system." But it didn't look like Insipid was listening. Instead he was watching the current events feed on the Chancellor's podium, and before Bardan could reproach him for it, the Dark Lord had manipulated it's comm system as well, sending out a message. It seemed that there was a new challenger to Bardan for the Chancellorship, and Lord Insipid had just seconded the nomination of former Chancellor Adalia-Durron.

On route to New Coruscant in X Wing

She was woken from her sleep by the beeping of her droid, blinking a few times to make sure she was awake enough to see she sat up. "What is is Squirt?" she asked urgently, expecting major trouble by the droids incessant chirping. Reading the screen she smiled, there had been a responce to the sub space message she'd sent several hours ago back to the base on Akrian, and she hoped it was the one she was waiting for. The message was audio only. "Play it back Squirt"

"Hey Addie, yeah, why not? How bad could it be? I'm really into these latest sims I wrote here, running them with the squadrons and all, so you might need to smack me up the side of the head to get my attention from time to time. Contact me when you get there. Lyons out" Adalia smiled, Colonel Adam Lyons had agreed to be her Vice Chancellor running mate, and she knew together they made a formiddable team. Their squadrons had been working together for a few years now and together is where they did their best work.

"Squirt, send a message to New Coruscant in responce to the nomination for Chancellor, tell them I accept and Colonel Lyons is my Vice Chancellor nomination." The little droid squealed with what only could be considered delight. "Ok, ok, I get it, now just send the message." Sitting back she began to think about the coming weeks, they were going to be busy. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to drift again, now was a good time for sleep as there wouldnt be much in the coming days.

    "Sorry, you were saying?"

He'd seconded the nomination for his old foe Adalia, and thus had caused quite a stir for Bardan. While Darth Mystique was now the Dark Lady, Insipid held a lot of pull with the Sith, more perhaps than Darth Ardeur - Sey to her fellow non-Sith. He snapped the datapad shut, and he had no doubt that the internal feed on Bardan's HUD had updated him as to the nomination.

The Sith Lord stood from the chair and leaned forward, grinning jagged teeth. "You do not want to mess with me within my dominion, Mandalorian. I am the political mastermind, not you. You may have a Sith to hand, and she may have learned well from me, her old Master, but I remain in charge. And you need me on side to win this election." He used the Force with a view to holding the man's tongue in place, quite a violation of his personal space. He might not even notice, if he was using that stoic approach all Mando's like. It was all the vogue.

With that, Insipid drew back, flouncing to his pod, and throwing a grin back. "Now, I have to go and greet Adalia. She needs to survey the situation, and to do that, she needs to be on the offensive - so she'll be here momentarily. Perhaps you should talk strategy with your Sith."

Bardan kept silent as he listened to Insipid's warning. His first inclination was to say something back, to fight this darjetti for daring to confront him. But he decided against it. The Dark Lord was right after all. He did hold much sway not only amongst his fellow sith, but throughout the system. Besides, they had worked together in the past. It wouldn't be wise to burn bridges with a potential future employer that had up till now always made good on his debts.

Instead Bardan nodded simply as Lord Insipid went on his way to greet Lady Adalia, she too was one that Bardan felt a certain loyalty to. He would do his best to ensure that this campaign remained above board and honorable. In any case at least the system could be assured of a leader that wasn't a force using spoonbender.

As he left to attend to the reactivation of the security holo-cams he thought on the last bit of advice given to him. Even though he had run in the system's last election, Bardan still had much to learn about politics here. He had no where near the support that Adalia could draw upon and would be forced to cast a wider net in order to attract any votes in the Senate. Luckily he had Darth Ardeur on his side, she could advise him of any pitfalls in which he might otherwise ensnare himself. After he had attended to his duties he would consult with her. She may have some ideas that could help bring Insipid to heel, and ensure his own enshrinement as the first Mand'alor of the system.

Her wanderings were not as random as their appearance. She was making her way towards a tracking device she'd put on Bardan. He knew it was there and had allowed it. Ardeur was taking no chances in being unable to find him when she knew what a dangerous game Insipid liked to play. That was why she was standing outside the room within hearing distance when she heard him threaten Bardan. Her force presence was completely hidden in the force, however, so Insipid shouldn't know she was there. Ardeur hoped that Bardan had taken her advice and that he was attempting to record this conversation with Insipid though it was too much to hope that Insipid didn't have a blocker. So frustrating and so out of touch she felt at this moment. Soon however, she'd be back.

"Now, I have to go and greet Adalia. She needs to survey the situation, and to do that, she needs to be on the offensive - so she'll be here momentarily. Perhaps you should talk strategy with your Sith."

She leapt onto Insipid's pod from the landing above landing lightly on the balls of her feet.

"Hello, dear." She said with a sly smile on her lips. "I know I didn't just hear you threaten a candidate for the Chancellorship did I?"

A finger absentmindedly tapped her lips as she stalked around the pod. "I heard you say you were going to greet Adalia and I figured given the threat you just made to my candidate I would tag along and make sure Addie was able to arrive on planet without your interference. Fairs fair and all that."

"Plus I haven't seen her in years and it will be nice to catch up. Even if she is the competition."

The smile turned into a full blown grin at the thought of catching up with her old friend.

Unclipping her helmet as the canopy opened, Adalia lightly jumped onto the seat and leaned her buttocks against its headrest as he removed the helmet, shaking her hair free from its confines. Tossing the helmet to the floor and ran her fingers though her hair in a vane attempt to rid herself of the ever present helmet hair. She absently watched as techs began to move around her craft as she stretched her back out and rolled her neck around, it'd be 10 hours and she really needed a refresher. Barely waiting for the ladder to be pushed up against the ship, she was on it and decending turning to the nearest tech.

"Hey Mate, mind pointing out the nearest refresher?" The young man grinned and indicated with his hand off to his left.

"Over that way Ma'am, showers and change rooms as well." Adalia smiled, this man knew what she really needed.

"Thanks" she said as she jumped down the last two steps and turned toward the storage area of her craft. Once reaching it she opened it and began to drag out her bag, inside a clean uniform and various toiletries. Bathing sounded good right now, and she planned to take advantage of the facilities before she presented herself to the other Senate members and her opposition. Tossing the bag over her shoulder she made her way to the refresher, turning once toward the Techs and asking.

"Guys, just let the droid out, he knows the deal and where to be." Several responded with either a wave or a nod. "Thanks, appreciate it!" Adalia was always friendly with ground staff, she knew where the real power of the galaxy resided, it was with those most didn't notice, those who held the galaxy together with chores other considered minor or even irrelivant. Truth was, without these guys, she'd never sleep having to maintain her own ship!! Entering the refresher she began to undo her flight suit, yep, this was the wake up she needed.

"Hey Addie!" he shouted over to her, "I take it you got the message from the Senate Floor?" He just grinned a Wes-ish grin, he was a member of the WJFC after all. IC: Darth Insipid
Senate Chamber, Insipid's Pod, floating to his bay

Darth Ardeur, for all intent's and purposes, surprised the man as she joined him in his pod. But, as Darth Insipid, he had no real choice but to mask his expression and feelings. This Darth Insipid, however, was less good at it than his predecessors, and it showed all over his face. The Sith Lord kept his cowled head from Bardan, however, so only Ardeur would be able to tell.

Aloud, he said. "Firstly, I always have a blocker on me, so it's my word against yours. Secondly, if you intend to attach yourself to me this will become sorely irritating... Adalia has survived years of my previous, misconceived attempts on her life, after all."

Insipid gestured, and the pod stopped, in mid-air, and he turned back to include Bardan in the conversation, speaking more loudly, and releasing his tongue. "And it would seem much more likely to any outsider that the cams dying and the two of you happening to arrive here at the same time was an ambush of me, not vice-versa. I could quite fairly consider your joint presence a threat..." Insipid drew his Force presence around him, keeping it tight and defensive, not exuding any of his feelings, intents, or anything - he was ready for them, and now he -

And then, above them, one of the Senate pods - Adalia's(!) - exploded, and Insipid instinctively created a bubble around himself, his danger sense picking up the threat a moment before it occurred, and, unconsciously, as he had sensed Ardeur's presence and part his mind was hardwired around defending her - he expanded the Force bubble to encompass them both as part of the flaming mass spun down toward them. The fire was such a burning brilliance - fire bomb - that he squeezed his eyes shut.

The explosion caught, and the repulsorlifts in the next two pods exploded, and the two below, and it seemed as if a whole chain reaction was about to take out the whole Senate, from Insipid's Force perspective.

This was bad, and, practically impossible.
