Star Wars The Lure of Adventure

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

It is the time of the Republic. It is approximately ten years before the events of the Phantom Menace and a year before the birth of Anakin Skywalker. Supreme Chancellor Braath leads the Republic, with Yoda and Mace Windu leading the Jedi Council.

Rumors of actions taken by renegade militia groups, pirates, and even Force-Sensitive cults have been circulating among a few remote systems in the Outer Rim. The rumors themselves seem to hold little merit, but can all be traced back to one source: Telos IV.

Members of the Jedi Council have sent some of their own Order to investigate, while Republic Security has taken the liberty of hiring on a few mercenaries to quell the problem of upstart militia before they get too violent.

No matter their walks of life, they're all still a little green behind the ears....

Welcome one and everyone to a new, fabulous installment brought to you by someone who's been gone for quite a long time now. Hopefully this can help get us back in a groove of sorts and draw some interest.

A few things have changed:

• Creative liberty has been taken by the GM to keep most Canon characters out of this game. Interactions MAY occur, but they will be strictly controlled by the GM and the GM ONLY. So if something clashes with established storylines in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, they are done so purposefully as to not limit players or characters to knowing every detail about them.

But aside from that, let's move onto character creation!

What can you be? Well here's a list of possible character archetypes:

• A tough blaster-for-hire.
• A Padawan learner seeking to gain power in the Force.
• A brash starfighter pilot.
• A gambler looking to make the next big score.
• A grizzled spacer making a living on the space lanes.
• A smuggler with a heart of gold.
• A young senator from a prosperous world.
• A Force-user flirting with the power offered by the dark side.
• A galactic scout exploring the hyperspace lanes.
• A soldier trained for war in the Outer Rim.
• A technician who's more comfortable with machines than with other people.
• Or any other kind of character you can imagine!

Just a few things to fill out, and the rest will be added in-game or by yours truly! Make sure you PM your sheets for approval.

Besides that, there's a few limitations on characters as well:

• No personal starships. Those are provided in-game at some point.
• No powerful Force Users. Any Jedi will be Padawans (and will have a GM-placed Master) and any Force Adepts are just now learning the ways of the Force.
• Mercenaries, bounty hunters, pirates, etc are all fairly new at what they do. You may have handled a blaster before, maybe seen a bit of combat here and there, but up against an established group, you're a greenhorn.
• Another drop of emphasis on how new everyone is to adventuring. Even some spacers don't have exotic stories to tell. Not yet anyway. Nobles are princes or senators who have come of age or newly elected, scouts may have just finished basic training in a Republic Facility, etc etc.
• Have fun, but don't go overboard. You wanna Force Choke someone for information? Go for it. Though character actions will always have consequences. You aren't immortal, and are not beyond the scope of this mortal coil.
• There will only be five slots available in this game, so I mean no offense to anyone if they make a character and it doesn't get approved. I don't have the time to watch after more than that amount of players and I won't have this game running off without me. The first post will be up after all approved players post their sheets.

Other than that, we will be waiting for potential players to submit their sheets and we can get started! And as always, may the Force be with you all.

I won this blaster in a bare-knuckle brawl with a Rodian kid a few years back, when I was first thinkin' about hunting bounties for a living. Guess that's about as close as it gets.

One sentence only, huh? Alright. Ain't really got much to live for and I've been dyin' to get off this rock for as long as I can remember, so whenever I hear of an opportunity that might lead me elsewhere I take it, no matter how much of a longshot it might seem to be.

If others had to describe you in one sentence, what would it be?
Hm. Well, this Toydarian, Watto I think his name was, called me the toughest slave he'd ever seen. Course at the time I had a mouth full of blood after takin' a beating from four other kids twice my age. One of 'em called me a bookworm, that's what I did in my spare time, I read. Kept buggin' me about it, so I let him have it, got him good right in the nose. That's when the others came and had their fun. But I was on my feet when Watto chased 'em away. Guess that's the first thing that comes to mind.

Why are you so far from home? Wanderlust and survival. Life on Rattatak is harsh and brutal and taught Cato how to survive and flourish against all odds, but the allure of the wide galaxy is a hard mistress to deny.​
