I realize it was just a scheduling quirk, but it's incredibly annoying the Mets had to open in KC. Also annoying, the Mets now have two days off before playing again. I also don't like the gold lettering (didn't like it on the Giants either), but the Royals would be stupid not to keep wearing the gold KC hats, those are awesome. Amazing.
Milwaukee Brewers will beat the Dodgers in every meeting this year. On a High note I did obtain tickets to the Brewers vs Mariners this season. It has been over 15 years since I have seen the Brewers play live.
As I said earlier, I thought it was a little awkward to have the Mets there. So did Ned Yost. That first game was pretty brutal. But Syndegaard (the only player on the Mets I actively dislike) at least showed up with a great pitching performance to save the day for you today. So... enjoy that bit? I loved the gold lettering on the jerseys (which yes, is an option in the first series for any WS winner). But yeah the hats are even cooler. Sadly, I don't think we're allowed to keep them. It was just an MLB thing for this series. I have to say, it was pretty sad seeing David Wright in these two games. Between that and what I saw of him in the WS, the back surgery just really seems to have damaged the trajectory of his career. It seems a damned shame. Best of luck to the Mets this season.
Toronto doesn't have as many good starters or relief pitchers this season. I doubt they'll make the World Series, they may even miss the playoffs. The Red Sox need more starting pitching as well but they can survive until the trade deadline and make a move then.
So what did everyone thing about the "Utley Rule" call at the end of the Blue Jays - Rays game last night?

I agree with this. Sliding into a fielder who can see you coming is one thing (note I said "sliding" and not "cross body blocking"), grabbing at his feet when he's not paying attention is bush. Even if not for the "new" rules, that should have been called interference. Amazing.
Yeah I initially thought it was a good slide but the replay showing him reach out towards the fielder changed my mind. Seems like people are pretty split on it though.
Well Kyle Schwarber is out for the year with a torn ACL and LCL because the Cubs can't have nice things.
