Din is nothing like Boba, and The Child is nothing like Yoda. If you're going to boil it down to "one is the same species and one wears the same type of armor" then you may as well move on and stop watching Star Wars, because clearly you don't have interest anymore.

It is nothing like Yoda unless same Specie same as Yaddle aint Yoda, and Same as Mando is not Boba Fett. If people look at things like that they might just leave this franchise as almost nothing will please them.

That’s not his name though. That’s the name the fanbase has given him because he’s the same species as Yoda. Officially he’s known only as the Child. But other than his species and the fact that he has Force he isn’t much like Yoda. Yoda is a wise Jedi Master. The Child is a mischievous adolescent.

So far there is no evidence that Baby Yoda has a serious grammar problem

Din is based on Boba. lets be honest. if you change or remove a few aspects in series 1 he so easily could have been Boba fett.

But because Din exists now. to do Boba i think they really would have to show the difference between Boba and Din. and i think they will in a way that makes them not compatible as friends.

Yes if you remove his entire characterization and replace it with Boba’s he’s exactly like Boba.

If you take out the mandalorians and the backstory. or maybe replace them with something else. what really makes Din different to boba? the Mandalorian starts out fairly brutal and skilled collecting his bounty. it takes the child to really show his compassionate side. in terms of character growth anyway.

Except for that Boba Fett is not a mandalorian, only a bounty hunter.

That’s my point. You’re saying, “Well if you take out the intrinsic elements of his characterization then he’s just like Boba!” His development with The Child is what makes him a vastly different character. He starts out as Boba-like character but through his interaction with The Child we see his compassionate side revealed. Through his interactions with his people we see an almost religious like code of honor. Through his interactions with the people he meets along his why we see that he has an instinct to help out those in need. These things are absolutely essential to his character and can’t just be taken out. If you take them away then we’re no longer discussing Din Djarin.

That's not a Boba thing, It was Darth Vader who did that and later Anakin in TCW. Boba was just the guy who was there and take it on his ship. He was just shipping Han Solo to Jabba like an installed order.

The thing with Boba Fett is that, under the old canon, he was one of the most inconsistently portrayed characters. There wasn't much to him in the movies besides the look, so different authors imagined him differently and a lot of his early depictions now feel antiquated in light of Lucas's revelations that a) Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett and b) Boba Fett is (probably) not a Mandalorian. But Din Djarin is a lot like a certain Boba Fett i.e. the pre-AotC, mysterious one who never removes his helmet and, while he is tough as nails and can do some pretty heartless stuff, also has a moral compass and wouldn't kill an innocent person. The Mandalorian is like taking the Boba Fett from Death, Lies, and Treachery and giving him a backstory and an arc where he becomes a father and how that changes him.

In an alternate universe, this could totally be a Boba Fett show.

Baby Yoda is no more similar to Yoda as young Luke Skywalker is to old Obi-wan Kenobi. They're the same species, but very different characters. I mean, one is a baby and the other is an old Jedi Master. The reason Baby Yoda is referred to as Baby Yoda is that nobody knows his name, or the name of his species, while everyone knows Yoda. The only thing the two have in common is genetics and force sensitivity.

But it could be argued the characterization grew from a Boba Fett template. if you take out or replace the Mandalorian stuff and backstory but keep the rest. it could so easily be Boba fett in that role and getting that growth.

He evolved because the series allowed him. but he is practically Boba fett in terms of concept.

And if you remove the armor, backstory, bounty hunting, and personality, heck, it could be Han Solo too. Han Solo started off as a loner who grew to have a family. Why not. Din Djarin and Boba fett are Han Solo knock offs. All they needed to do was change it to smuggling the child instead of hunting him. Now it’s the Han Solo show.

If you take away the little green alien look, poor grammar, long years as a Jedi Master, role in the Clone Wars, and training Luke, Yoda is basically Sio Bibble.

A bounty hunter who wears Mandalorian armour. he his own ship. has worked with some thugs or bounty hunters over the years. its a boba fett template.

Din and Han is like looking at series 1, episode 5 with that young Han wannabe and saying Din is the so Han Solo in that situation.

Yeah but take away him being a bounty hunter. He’s just Han Solo. Han has his own ship too. He’s worked with scum and villainy in the past also.

    Han is Din Djarin confirmed.
