Yeah. I mean, I guess the day would’ve been better if I also won 7 million dollars, but I’ll take great Star Wars news instead!

 

An overwhelming and joyous day for SW fans.

Predictions -- the prison break will be brief. It will be part of a montage that quickly gets our heroes together. The episode will be more devoted to the interactions of the crew and beginning the assault on Gideon.

Other predictions. There won't be another Jedi this season because, as we often forget, Grogu is our main Jedi.

The season will have a happy ending. And Din will remove his helmet to bond with, or get through to, his son.

I'm in agreement here. Looking forward to the gathering of our motley crue and then the start of an epic face off!

And I'm with all the rest of you...all this news has blown me away!! Star Wars is always on my mind and now I have to make even more room up there.

 

At some point in this series we need a Yondu-Peter Quill-Drax moment where someone asks if Grogu is adopted? Not the joking Mayfeld thing—“you two make that?”—but someone genuinely asking something like “why doesn’t Grogu look more like you Din? He’s got your ears though.....”

Am I the only one who wants this?

 

What are the chances that Grogu will be freed and even bring the dark sword with him in the end of this episode? He could give it to Ahsoka in the next episode and she could just throw it away in disgust. Just an idea.

 

Nonsense, no Jedi would ever do that

 

Certainly not Luke, he openly stated it is a weapon that should be respected.

Best episode of the season thus far.

 

Nice, very nice!! Love the ending full circle line Mando said. I really liked the exploration of ideologies and good v evil in this one, not what I expected at all.

That ending. Holy cow. Incredible ending.
That Imperial Officer. Shudder.
Mayfeld has to be one of the best characters in the show imo.
Mando having to show his face to get the coordinates to Moff Gideon's ship.

Din had to reveal his face and we saw Mayfields good side as well as the sonic boom

No Lore OMG's tonight (whose thunder would have been stolen by all the announcements today anyway) but just plain old good storytelling and character work, and some slick directing in the mix. Mayfield got an unexpected arc in just two episodes.

Operation Cinder took place just after ROTJ and was in SW Battlefront
Slave 1 is way too cool.
Loved the interaction between Cara and Fennec
Imperial Offier was brilliant!

 

I always had a hunch Mayfeld had a good side. Great performance by Bill Burr.

mess room scene sort of gave me a Quentin Tarantino vibe

 

Effff yessssss! I actually got my decades long wish to satisfy my OCD by cleaning up the Fett armor. It's everything I expected it to be. I can actually buy a toy now. Don't mind the one dent remaining at all.

Really enjoyed this slice-of-life episode and the nuanced normal-ness of the Empire's side on things.

And man, I was just saying last week I wanted to see a seismic charge return. *chefs kiss* Best sound effect in everything ever.

Loved Din using Moff Gideon's own words back at him. I actually want Bill Burr to be in this more now. Only one character knowing Din's face - I like it a lot.

 

My thoughts on this weeks episode: (Spoiler warning)

I kept shouting seismic charge as a joke thought it actually happened.

Love the ending how Mandos message to Gideon was exactly like Gideon’s message to Mando last season.

First episode of the series not to have Grogu I expected to see him at least briefly

Expected Mayfeld to die so that no loving person saw his face but he didn’t meaning he broke the creed.

I liked how Mayfeld got some character development and wasn’t super annoying like last time we saw him

Love Boba Fetts new painted armor

Liked the Operation Cinder reference

7/10 a solid episode

Mayfield is hands down one of my favorite characters. Just so interesting and nuanced. I loved that build during the conversation between him and the officer.

 

That felt like it came straight out of Rebels that ep and I loved it.

And yeah, that imperial officer stole the show, excellent performance.

 

Wonderful episode. It is great to see Bill Burr/Mayfeld return. There is something about the tone, pacing, and general feeling of the Famuyiwa episodes that I absolutely love. I’d be happy if he got to direct many more episodes.
