One more and it will be an established rule that Alien actors must play New Republic officers when they appear in Star Wars.

Who are the others? I know Hicks played a sheriff or something, but I don’t think he worked for the new republic.

Darn it, I forgot about him :_|
    Oh well.

The other one I was thinking of is Captain Hayle in the opening sequence of Ahsoka. Played by Mark Rolston, aka Drake.

Too bad we'll never know what Star Wars would've been like with a bit of Paxton energy :(

Maybe Rotta will become the Cartel's new leader (with the help of NR Intelligence) at the end of the movie and will advocate for moving away from slavery into neocolonialism.

I think Disney would rather him stick to slavery

Maybe Rotta moves the hutts into an anti slavery faction

I always still believe that Rotta went off and became the green rock Hutt from Tatooine Rhapsody

    Update from the rumor mill
Apparently Rotta is a gladiator in this film, wielding a vibroblade of some vareity. Hence him being more fit than most Hutts

Sounds like fortune had turned against him at some point, since gladiators tend not to be volunteers. I mean, there are exceptions, but it isn't really something one would expect of the heir of a major crime syndicate/star nation, especially given that Jabba was protective of him before.

In any case, ever since the 2d clone wars show, I have always been interested in the gladiator side of star wars, so this definitely peaks my interest.

He would have to have grown a lot in a short time for that.

Hutts can't grow in like 20 years? If he's the green rock Hutt I assumed it was his disenfranchised teenage rebellion. Also I have no idea when Tatooine Rhapsody takes place

The main story sure, but the opening is clearly around order 66, which is three years or less since we last saw Rotta, and the rock hutt already looked the same then as he did in the rest of the short, so if that was Rotta he would have had to have gone from toddler to teenager in less than three years despite being from a long lived species.

Though i suppose I could be overthinking it.

Anyway I really should watch Tatooine Rhapsody again aside from just the song on a loop ahaha

Now put that and the Hu song from Jedi Fallen Order and we got a banging soundtrack for the movie!

    Brilliant, I love it!

Also maybe Una Duey Dee somewhere:

Edit: On that note, it would be hilarious to have Boba listen to star waver in canon some time. Shame that according to Morrison he isn't in this film, I feel like he fit in given the hutt and bounty hunter parts of the story.

A jacked up, arena-fighting, agile Hutt gladiator just sounds dumb. These guys are big, slothful gangster boss types. Their look lends itself to that. Choose a different species for a gladiator.

Well it is now lore that most hutts are big and muscular and Jabbas and his family are big fat gangsters. We got two or three in the main line comics who are muscular

I disagree. I think it’s a cool inversion of the Hutts we typically see. No doubt there was a time when their species weren’t the masters and actually had to fend for themselves.

The idea of a jacked up slug man (possibly with robot legs) fighting in a gladiator area is just pulpy and metal as hell. Like something you’d see Moebius draw. Whilst it comes down to actual execution, I think the idea has potential, and is certainly in keeping with the sorts of things Lucas would do.

An entire species of fat slug gangsters with no difference is a bit lame too
