Is anyone else waiting until all the episodes are available before getting Disney+? This seems like the sort of show that I'd enjoy binge-watching the entire season at once, especially since the episodes are short, so I decided to just wait and get Disney+ when I can do that.

I’m all for reprogramming IG-11 but leave Kuiil out of it. He just wants his peace damn you! You know that if he gets roped in he won’t make it to seasons end alive.

One thing I really dislike is the utterly pointless previous episodes recap. Anyone who is watching episode 3 doesn't need a recap of what happened in two short 30+ minute episode just one week ago, and if they did.... they can just watch the episode again! The time could have been far better used for a cool memorable opening.

I did not know this. Thats pretty cool because he then would be very aware of the note arrangement and be able to subtlely blend it in to The Mandalorian score.

    And if it has been a conscious and deliberate thing, to me that is a very smart thing to do because it can subtlely condition the audience's mind on two fronts;

One, from the Rocky perspective, that it serves to portray and reinforce the "tough guy" image in that these are people that ordinary folk dont want to mess with.

And two, from the HBO circa 83 introduction perspective, because ROTJ was released in '83 and this series follows on from that, its maybe a subtle way of making the mind think and naturally feel that these events happen just after Jedi. I realise we are told this information repeatedly and the visual clues back this up too, but maybe subtle music clues finish the triple whammy in conditioning the mind to believe.

Very applicable and a great music score nonetheless.

Most TV shows with an overarching plot do recaps. Netflix releases their seasons all at once and they still do recaps. And, some people find them useful, or at least like watching the highlights from previous episodes.

    I
    Fixed it for you.:p

A recap at the halfway point through the season is ok. One every episode is treating viewers like forgetful idiots imo.

if I hadnt watched the last episode 3 times then the recap would’ve been useful. I expect a lot of people would only watch the episodes once so they wouldn’t remember everything.

Wow, I didnt realise this and hopefully this two punch formula fits into a theory I had where Filoni's speciality is the world-building for a certain species; where the distinct look of the planet and the settlements are in this Episode, as well as all of the other rich world-building detail.

Then along comes characterisation specialist and maestro in Famuyiwa who does for this species in what he did for the Jawas; in creating a society with depth and soul in how they intereact with each other, etc. (I keep saying species because I dont know how to do spoiler tags, but we all know what species they look like based off rumours).

    5 and 6 could be more 11 out of 10 episodes/chapters.

Too bad Pre Vizla is dead. Loved to see Jon Favreau return for the last season of TCW. Guess he still could as a different Mandalorian even.

And autocorrect sux. It has its head where the two suns don’t shine, especially with Star Wars names.

He voices the heavy gunner Mandalorian in Episode 3. That Mandalorian is confirmed to be a Vizsla.

Great. Filoni directs Favreau in TCW, directs for Favreau in Mandalorian, apparently didn’t direct Favreau in Mandalorian, and directs Favreau in TCW again.

Could Favreau and Filoni, and perhaps Feige, be the future of SW?

Well according to KK she consults Filoni on most things not related to business (so the story side). The plus I think there has been rumors that Jon is going to have a big role in Star Wars in the future. I think Kevin is to busy with Marvel.

Feige was too busy BEFORE he Disney’s purchase of Fox and what that means for Marvel; BEFORE he got his way with Sony and Spider-Man; BEFORE he became CCO of all Marvel IP. And now he’s doing 1 SW film. Maybe Favreau could direct as its these two who launched the MCU and Disney loves Favreau.

Or maybe Filoni. Though I’d like to see him showrunner for Underworld.

This series is excellent. Tons of excellent Easter Eggs and throwbacks but with a new original story. All three episodes have been great so far. This is the way... you do Star Wars! I have spoken.

Up till late binge watching it. Then again. And again. Who needs sleep? (answer: probably The Mando after what just happened).

This series makes me feel like I'm back watching ANH again as a kid. There is nothing that I don't love about it (ok that 'Superman 1978 saves the plane'-style salute was a bit too cheesy). It's phenomenal. 10/10.

I don't know how many people have seen the comedy film Hot Fuzz but I'll leave you with this clip:
