what is Cannon????

 

"canon" is what GL says is "true" in the GFFA. it`s a huge debating area with regards to the EU as to whether things that go on in the books and comics etc are true to the films, i.e. canon.
to get into the 501st, your costume has to be canon, i.e. movie accurate.

if i`m wrong i am sure someone will correct me.

It get's more complex though.

Movie - Top level of canon
Radioplays - Next level of canon
Novelisations - Next level of canon
EU - Next level of canon
Games - Next level of canon

etc, etc, etc.

Basically, it's all accurate unless contradicted by a level of canon above it. So, if something in the books conflicts with something in the movie, the movie wins. However, if nothing in the movie contradicts it, then the book is accurate and considered canon. It can get really intense in some of the groups, who consider anything that wasn't in the movie as being inaccurate. I like this version best.

The 501st does allow EU costumes, they already have a Darth Nihilus in the ranks and a Darth Revan is now trying to get in as well.


The trick with a EU costume is that you need tons of reference pics so that your own costume looks like it just walked out of the game/book/etc. This is something I'll begining to know all to well myself.

Also in the 501st, your suppose to have a movie cannon costume as your first costume to join.


You also must be 18 or older for the same reasons as listed in this thread.

That's why he said eventualy. It is actualy quite expensive to be on the UKG. Some people probaly couldn't afford it.

I never spent more then $400 for any costume I have on the 501st, and that includes the ones I'm currently working on now.

Ed aka Reaper from the RL was thinking of putting a package together and selling them. Have not heard anything else about it , but i suppose we could ask him.

and obial from another board made those helmets we saw at NSC it was a kit made by his bro but he hasnt sorted out any sort of package thing yet.
