I don’t understand Roberts habit of starting Freese, only to pull him after 2-innings; infuriating.

This is some bizarre modern analytics thing. I was punching my TV all season when Aaron Nola was having a Cy Young game and would be replaced after 32 pitches/2 innings.

It is infinitely worse in these playoffs. Freese could pitch a perfect game in the postseason. Except he won't be allowed to.

They're going to move to Los Angeles proper and change their name to the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles.

Watching my dog take a **** (because her evening walk couldn’t be delayed any longer) really is the perfect metaphor. :p

EDIT: Good that Aquilar/Machado seemed to reach an understanding.

There were some amazing defensive plays in the Astros/Sox game, from both teams.
That's one of my favorite aspects of baseball.

And what a series between the Brewers and L.A.
    Wow.

No, just because the Brewers was the NL team I was rooting for all season.

I could be very wrong (I actually hope I am), but it just seems to me that whoever wins the Pennant in the AL this year will make short work of either NL team in the Series. Both Boston and Houston look like they have more intimidating lineups up and down; which means even if their starters (who have also been pitching much better than the NL starters) can't cut it in the WS, the offense could still bail them out.

i don't think either AL team has the bullpen the Brewers have, and maybe not the Dodgers.

The Red Sox bullpen has pitched surprisingly well this postseason, besides their best reliever, who is pitching like I thought the rest of them would.

Relying primarily on the pen can only get you so far in a playoff series; especially one that's best of four. Even the best of relievers need their rest. You wonder why Counsell is babying Heder the way he has.

oh i agree with that, i don't think it can carry them to a title, i just doubt it would be short work.

By the time I got home from work, the Red Sox all but officially won the game as I tuned some time after the grand slam. I'm a bit surprised the Astros are playing better at home, which puts them in the proverbial must win game tonight as I don't see them winning two games in Boston, and those being Game 6 and 7.

Marlins Man was in Los Angeles for the past two games, and I imagine he'll be there again for today's day game. I was surprised that Dodgers stadium really didn't have a late arriving crowd. I kind of wish Vin Scully didn't turn down an invite to be part of the broadcast because I love and miss his voice.

Yeah, totally Bush League stuff. I remember playing against a guy that did that kind of thing in a Beer League I use to play and he did the same thing to me. I wanted to fight that guy. Later in the game, that same game ran over a young lady covering second base, and we had a little more spirited dugout clearing baseball brawl.

Anyway, I was able to catch the 9th inning where both, IIRC, had a runner on second but couldn't get them home. I saw the game winning hit. It figured. However, I'm find it interesting on how the NL has become more like the AL, in that the NL teams use to try and "manufacture runs." Ya know, bunt the man over and whatnot. I didn't watch most of the game, but I got a sense they were just giving the batters the green light to swing away.

Oh, I did catch that bit in the 9th inning by one of the commentators saying that the Dodgers' infielder should have not caught the ball, but rather let it hit the ground to remove Yelich as a base runner in exchange for the slower guy. I thought that was funny.
