THE MOVE - Coming March 21st to a JC near you

    OK everyone, buckle up because this is it. On Wednesday, March 21st, 2012, IGN will be shutting the boards down to begin the data migration. The morning of the 21st, a DNS change will be initiated which will point boards.theforce.net to our new server. It may take anywhere from 8-24 hours for you to see the change, depending on your location and ISP.

    The Gist:
    When: Wednesday, March 21st, 2012
    What: The Move&trade; will officially begin.
    Where: Everything will remain right here on boards.theforce.net. When the move begins, this site will display a message indicating what is happening and there will be a link to our temporary forum.
    How: IGN will be exporting all data from the boards, converting it into a database compatible with the Xenforo forum system, and sending it to us to import into our new boards. This process will take around 2 weeks to complete. During that time, you will NOT be able to access the boards, your account, or any of your private messages. A temporary forum will be set up, however this forum will not have any posts, users, or private messages from the old board.


    Be sure to keep an eye on this thread, or better yet subscribe to our facebook page and/or our Twitter account.

    So the new boards will open up the same week the Dodgers will have their 1st home stand of the 2012 season. Damn, what a week that will be.:cool:

    Ghost: this is the standard XenForo look. We've been tinkering with it, as it's vastly customizable, but don't expect it to be an exact copy of our current look. For now.

    Rox: yes, we're going to be using the Xenforo software for the temp boards.

    The new boards ought to be an exact aesthetic copy (or as much as it's possible) of what we currently have.
