Welcome, one and all, newcomer and draft veteran alike to the Multi-Fiction Draft

If you've never done a draft before, you might want to review some of them as a primer ... after you sign up.

    Random sample:

    Comic Book Draft XI
    Jedi Draft 24
    Mini Comic Book Draft
    Starfighter Draft #26
    Jedi Draft #26

    Here's the basics:

    Participants

    GMs -
There are six of you. You get assigned a position in the draft. When it's your turn, you pick a character. When you pick first in a round (which will happen twice) you get to decide what fictional medium that rounds picks come from. You can pick anything reasonable - TV, Movies, Star Wars Characters Comic Books, Video Games, Theater, Broadway, Marvel Comics Only, Shakespearean Works, Literature, fan fiction written by heels with thinly veiled metaphors for dp4m, etc. Later on you'll send numbers, but we'll get to that later.

Judges - There are two of you. You get to judge who wins a match, and during drafting tell the GMs how you think they are doing. You are the ultimate power in the universe.

Commish - That's me. I get to keep the draft running, post matches, call for numbers, veto/neuter characters that are too powerful, etc.

    The Process

First, GMs and Judges sign up.

Then, we draft. There are twelve rounds of drafting and everyone will draft first twice. However, you can trade your picks in a certain round for other rounds if you don't want a character from that selection (or another GM wants multiple characters and wants to trade for your pick. See the 2nd Baseball Draft to get a good idea of how that works). (Just don't let it get too much like that draft, or Pointy will surely win) You can be broad or specific in your choice. See examples below, and feel free to be creative, though I might veto or expand choices that are too constrained.

Let's say heels, dp, pointy, Mikaboshi, BaSSiL, and yak sign up as GMs. In round one, yak goes first and decides that the round should be Sesame Street Characters. It might go like this:

    1) Yak - Big Bird
    2) heels - Cookie Monster
    3) BaSSiL - Oscar the Grouch
    4) pointy - Mr. Snuffleupagus
    5) Mika - The Count
    6) dp - Will Arnett (because dp is always looking for loopholes and instead of drafting a Muppet, would select someone who appeared as a special guest on the show thinking it would help him)

And we continue on until everyone has twelve characters

    Next, we go through Matches

Each team will be asked to submit numbers. You will send in ten numbers, but all twelve characters will be involved. Here's how:

    1) Trumping. You get one free Trump per set of matches, where you get to put two characters on a single number without penalty. You can do additional trumps by causing a forfeit, as well.
    2) Prep. You get one standard prep (24 hours with basic materials) to get ready for a match
    3) Prep w/Consultation. You get standard prep (24 hours with basic materials) PLUS the consultative help of the non-combat character for the round.

Let's say this is heels team: Cookie Monster (Sesame Street), Ophelia (Shakespeare), Hagrid (Harry Potter Series), Batman (comic book movies made prior to 1999), Judge Judy (Live Action TV Shows), Mario Mario (video games), Iron Man (Comic Books), Iron Man (MCU), Bugs Bunney (Looney Tunes), Optimus Prime (Animated TV Shows), Elsa (Disney Princesses), and C-3P0 (Star Wars Droids)

His numbers might look like this:

    1. Ophelia (Prepared)
    2. Batman
    3. Iron Man TRUMPED with Iron Man
    4. Elsa
    5. C-3P0 TRUMPED with Optimus Prime
    6. Optimus Prime TRUMPED with C-3P0
    7. Batman
    8. Mario Mario
    9. Hagrid
    10. Cookie Monster PREP with Consultant Judge Judy

We'll do that in a round-robin style so every GM faces the other five GMs once. If a GM emerges undefeated from Round-Robin play, they are declared the champion If no GM is undefeated, we take the top two ranked GMs (first ranking is overall wins in round robin play, second ranking is individual wins in round robin play, tiebreaker is Cleveland Trivia)

To Sign-up, Copy this list and add your name:

    @Jordan1Kenobi you can judge!

And then I'll be sure to trade for every pick in a Prequel Jedi round

Can the categories be cross medium?

Like for instance, Character With No Dialogue, and someone picks samurai jack, and someone picks Lobot, and someone picks Link.

You know what, I'll do it! I've been in heaps of drafts as a player, so it'll be fun to judge for a change.

I'll allow it! As long as you can define it, that cross medium works for me

Edit: so things like "billionaires", "Nicolas Cage Roles", "fictional presidents" all work for me

    The Category is: Badaptations

From E.T. the video game to The Hobbit Trilogy. Just anything that was good that has now been tainted.

The selection is, from a film adaptation with a whopping 17% on Rotten Tomatoes:

Roland of Gilead (The Dark Tower 2017)

@LloydChristmas I think you know what to do.

It's up to Inty, of course, but the category could also just be "panned" by critics and or audiences. Whatever. I don't make the rules.
