The music of this series has been a bit under the radar so far, but when it hits like it does at the end of the third episode, I'm reminded why Nicholas Britell is one of the best of his generation. His music just has a way of getting under your skin in a way very few other composers can accomplish.

I'm also fascinated by the choice to make each episode have a different variation on its opening title. Can't wait to hear more.

They went full Phil Collins on the drums when Cassian was walking toward the screen at the end of 2.

Vangelisesque with a dash of Fiedel. Minus the Prophet 10s and CS80s. Although the string parts do have a slight fizz to them, so maybe there are some synths layered in there.

Either way I like the score. So far…

Huh, I hadn't even noticed that as I was watching the episodes. I will now listen to all main theme versions, that's very interesting.
Wow, that's a perfect description. Probably why I love the music in Andor.

Finally, some electronic music in that strip club too. Which was really good. And fitting.

They need to blast some Linkin Park when he decides to join the rebels.

The real Phil Collins are the friends we made along the way.

Absolutely love the music of B2EMO strolling the Ferrix streets in the early morning hours on his way to see Cassian. That music was just perfect.

I detect muted and subdued hints and splashes of gamelan flying under the radar in the score.

There's a hint of the Niamos/Morlana Club theme as Mon and Tay end their conversation..... (to be continued).

I can hear sample patches from Spitfire's Tundra and Solstice libraries.

Yes, I just listened to an interview with Britell and he talked about how that Niamos track is intended to be a chart topping hit within the galaxy, so you'd hear it in different locations and it would be mixed differently according to the location. I dig that idea a lot.

Hope that there will be a third scene with this track, but this time Andor will correctly understand the hint from the Force and evade meeting with law enforcement.

This soundtrack is insanely great. I can't believe this show is even happening.

Figrin D'an may have captured the jazz vibe on Tatooine. This captures the beach party vibe on Niamos pretty well.

Dumb question but is the Andor theme song slightly different in each episode? Episode 9 has a more synth sound to it whereas I thought the earlier episodes were more orchestral.

Yep, each episode has slightly different instrumentation. You could probably call the theme from the first episode as the main version.
