For the final matchup: Goran Beviin vs. Fennac Shand (Prep)

Both Shand and Beviin share the fate of being the lieutenant of Boba Fett in their respective continuities -- Shand is the second-in-command of Daimyo Boba Fett on Tatooine in canon, while Beviin is the second-in-command of Mandalore Boba Fett on Mandalore. However, Legends Fett has a far more impressive amount of feats while leading Mandalore than Canon Fett has while leading Tatooine (and btw this is only referring to the feats they have during their time ruling their respective planets and not any of the feats that they had as a bounty hunter prior to their respective rule). Legends Fett led the Mandalorians to victory over the Yuuzhan Vong when they invaded Mandalore, personally fought in multiple battles against the Vong on other planets, trashed Jaina Solo in hand-to-hand combat, and fought and defeated an aspect of Abeloth with the help of Tahiri Veila. All Canon Fett did while he led Tatooine was get beat up by Krrsantan and fight some Pyke syndicate mercenaries and their allies -- nothing really to give note about. And those feats from Legends Fett come from a Fett who is multiple decades older than Canon Fett -- he's in good enough shape to fight Abeloth in his MID-SEVENTIES -- Canon Fett is mostly out of shape and needs a bacta tank to rehabilitate him after fighting Krrsantan. I doubt Beviin would have allowed Canon Fett to remain Daimyo of Tatooine if he were in Shand's place -- I'm still puzzled on why Shand didn't.

Anyways, enough talk on the rulerships of the respective Fetts -- let's actually look at our two combatants. Both have solid careers in knocking off individuals while employed as bounty hunters, both have fought large groupings of mooks (Shand with the stormtroopers in Mando S2 and the Pantoran Security Guards in Rebels, Beviin with the Yuuzhan Vong Warriors at the Battle of Mandalore [which are far superior combatants as mooks to either Stormtroopers or security guards]), and both have a solid resume of fights. Fennac has four fights to her resume, so let's talk about them:
    • Fight One: The fight against the Bad Batch Clone Hunter: Beats him in one-on-one hand to hand combat -- impressive for sure, but Hunter doesn't really have many feats over top-tier (or any decent tier really) opponents -- I'd put him on the level of individual Vong Warrior at best and Beviin's beaten several of them in a single battle.
    • Fight Two: The fight against the Bad Batch Clone Wrecker: Beats the **** out of Wrecker. Wrecker is by far the worst combatant of the Bad Batch and is solidly below any individual Vong Warrior.
    • Fight Three: The fight against S1 Mando and the noob hunter: She loses this fight and barely escapes with her life -- Mando ties her up and would have brought her back to base if the noob hunter hadn't betrayed him -- Shand still ends up with a near-fatal stab wound courtesy of the noob hunter and is barely saved by Fett.
    • Fight Four: The Cad Bane fight in Rebels: That's her most notable opponent who she fought, and she gives quite a good showing, but Bane does knock her unconscious at the end of their fight, and the only reason she "wins" the fight is because she basically cheap shots Bane as he is talking to that droid of his about Omega -- and even then he survives due to his rocket boots. If Bane had solely focused on ending the fight and not on any other objectives such as capturing a bounty, Shand would have died right then and there. Shand's win in that fight can thus be considered "PIS" (the same thing as TPM Kenobi's win over Maul or Cade Skywalker's win over Reborn Krayt in Legacy War) and should be counted as a draw at best (I'd personally count it as a loss myself).
Beviin doesn't have any major opponents in straight up combat, but he does have several showings of beating the ever-living crap out of Jaina Solo (who is a late-first/early-second round pick in the Jedi Draft) in all-out sparring matches. Maybe sparring can be seen as less important than actual combat, but Jaina's a top-tier saber duelist and still loses to Beviin in the vast majority of their spars (and has to use the Force in the only ones that she wins).

As for Prep, I'm not sure it really does much for Shand in this fight -- she's already fought against Mandalorians, the location of the fight is a literal ballroom which both characters have experience in, and she doesn't carry many weapons besides her sniper rifle, a blaster pistol, and a short knife. With Beviin's beskar armor making the sniper rifle virtually useless in combat due to the lack of gaps for shots to go through, Fennac's going to have to make this fight a melee encounter -- and Beviin has just enough skill to pull it out. Fennac takes some wins, but Beviin wins this one 5.5/10 times in my books.

Fennec Shand (prepared) vs. Goran Beviin

Fennec is a badass and has had some really impressive one on one feats over her career, such as fighting equally with Cad Bane in a long, tough fight, and schooling Hunter and Wrecker.

    Her weapons include:
    - powerful sniper rifle with hidden blade
    - heavy blaster pistol
    - bolas
    - detonators
    - helmet used for attacks

Here she’s fighting a Mandalorian, which is something she’s very familiar with, having fought against Din and then fighting alongside him and Boba. I’m not sure if the prep was needed because she already knows so much about Mandalorians, but any advantage helps.

The fact that Beviin doesn’t have proper dueling feats puts Fennec at a big advantage here, because at least we can say she can hold her own against tough and skilled opponents and come out on top more times than not.
Sparring with Knight Jaina is impressive, but at the end of the day that was just training.

SithO already listed her main dueling feats, but I just want to add to that.
Beating Hunter and Wrecker is impressive. Hunter is one of the most skilled Clones there’s ever been and she took him out with ease. When he started to overpower her in strength, she knocked him out with a single headbutt. That helmet of hers is a weapon in itself. Obviously Beviin is wearing a helmet as well, but it just shows when she’s in a tough spot she thinks on her feet and improvises to come out victorious. She’s not afraid of dirty tactics either. Maybe she can knock his helmet off with a strategic headbutt under his chin?

And Wrecker is arguably the physically strongest human in the galaxy. The man can lift a Republic gunship for crying out loud. Yet Fennec knocked him out with a single move. Her speed and skills are some of the best in the bounty hunting business, and feats like this prove it.

Then we get to the big showdown with Cad Bane. Yes he knocked her out, but within several seconds she was already back up, dodging and countering his attacks and winning the fight. If he didn’t have jets in his boots he’d literally be dead. She can recover so quickly and instantly get back on the offence.
It’s also worth noting that earlier in the fight she also knocked Bane out with a nicely placed and timed detonator. This is the type of thing we need to think about with her prep time too.

It’s such an impressive fight, because there’s constant back and forth between them with no clear superior fighter. The fact that Fennec is able to go toe to toe with someone on the level of Cad Bane speaks volumes about her. She’s one of the best.

During this fight she has a nice showing of ranged combat and close quarters combat. During the fist fight she uses a style of martial arts, which at times was to use Bane’s own momentum against him and focuses on joint manipulation to injure his body parts. It really seems like she was the better hand to hand fighter here. She also keeps cool and composed while Bane gets frustrated and angry.

And finally her showdown with Mando and Toro. This is actually an extremely impressive showing with her sniper. Even though she’s miles away, blinded by flares and aiming at two moving vehicles, she still manages to snipe them both accurately.
Toro then sneaks up behind her and still loses. The only reason she loses in the end is cause it’s a 2 v 1 with distractions. 1 v 1 at this range and she would’ve won without hesitation.

    (video is from 1:20-2:50)

Now let’s put her in a 1 v 1 with Beviin, shorten the distance between them, remove the distractions, and have her prepared in the environment. It’s not looking good for him.
Yes he has Mandalorian armour, but as you saw above her sniper packed one hell of a hit on Din’s beskar from that far away, knocking him to the ground.
Armour doesn't make you invincible, especially when you’re being bombarded with a sniper that will knock you out. Remember she doesn’t need a kill shot to win.

I want to quote this section from the Wook, as I had no idea her sniper could do this: “At least a modified form of the MK sniper rifle even possessed enough power to conceivably penetrate beskar alloy armor, a metal famed for its near-indestructibility. Djarin's beskar armor was able to protect him from two hits, but he opined that the bolt would have penetrated the armor and killed him had it been a close-range shot.”

So now we know she can in fact kill Beviin even while in his armour. Even if she has to use some of her prep time modifying her sniper to get it done, that’s exactly what prep time is for.

The location is very open with lots of room to play with. It’s a large palace with plenty of great areas she can use to snipe Beviin from across the room. We’ve seen how accurate she is with her sniper and just how powerful it is. And now it’s going to be at a closer range, meaning it’s more deadly.
Plus like in her fight with Bane, she can rig certain areas around the palace with explosives.

While on Tython she was able to take out heaps of stormtroopers at once just using her sniper. A lot of this was at close range and she didn’t even look down her scope a lot of the time either. So she definitely has the skills to take down one opponent with it in this location.

I think she would still win without prep, but having prep time just seals the deal considering what she can achieve with the location and with her weapons.

Also I know Bossk doesn’t stand a chance against the top guy in the draft. They’d have a decent brawl, but the outcome won’t be in question.

If I win for Fennec and Valance it’ll go to teams. So if the judges need any more arguments I’ll jump on in.

Beviin does have a couple of encounters with Yuuzhan Vong Warriors under his belt -- fighting and killing the Yuuzhan Vong subaltern (lieutenant/sergeant equivalent leader) Bur'lorr at New Holga (although he needed the help of four other Mandalorian warriors to do so) and fighting multiple Yuuzhan Vong Warriors at Braslin during the Battle of Mandalore. It might not be much, but it is something to consider especially since Vong Warriors are pretty badass and are solidly ahead of stormtroopers as combatants.

Posting judgments in order of confidence, the first one listed is the one I'm most confident about my judgement, and the last one ... well ... even as I type this I'm still not sure how I'm going to go ...

    Qi'ra (Prepared) vs. PROXY (forfeit)

Phew. A forfeit. Plenty of confidence here.

    Bossk vs. Shimrra Jamaane

I feel like Bossk is the theoretical champion of the Muggles Draft. Like, in theory, he should be great. He's a Trandoshan and has such a nasty reputation. But I feel like his hype and reputation significantly outpace his feats and actuals. I feel like every time we see Bossk he's getting outshined by someone in nearly every way - someone better at hand to hand, someone better at strength, most of the galaxy being smarter. Shimrra maybe doesn't have the breadth and depth of feats, but he does have an incredibly great one to hang his hat on. Throw in the weirdness of the Vong and the unfamiliarity, and that the fact that one of the character's actually has a canonical name of Bossk'wassak'Cradossk and this one, while not 100% clear cut, starts to veer into the territory where I'm comfortable making a call.

Fennec Shand (Prepared) vs. Goran Bevlin

I'm like 55-45 on this one, but I think two things swayed me.

First, great job from Jordan pointing out that while not familiar with Goran himself, Fennec is familiar with Mandalorians and has fought a few in the past. That sort of thing can make a difference when the margins are so small. Especially when trying to maximize prep time. Zero of that time is wasted trying to figure out how to take on a Mando.

Second, this VERY specific use of prep was a great way to lean into how we defined prep time this draft and really call out specifics, and I'm going to reward it

Close fight. Incredibly close margins. Those two things pushed me to the prepared sniper.

And so yes ... that means it all comes down to PORGS

    Again.

Beilert Valance vs. Three Porgs TRUMPED with PROXY

I can only do this justice - and ease my troubled mind - through a theater battle. Winner under the spoiler tag.

Beilert Valance looked bewildered, seeing what was across from him: PROXY, the advanced holodroid programmed for lethal combat and mimicry, flanked by three porgs. One porg flapped its tiny wings in excitement, another waddled forward chirping aggressively, and the third—already roasted to golden perfection—remained skewered on a stick, somehow still involved in the fight. PROXY’s photoreceptors glowed ominously as he activated his combat protocols, shifting his form to resemble an old foe of Valance—Darth Vader himself.

Without hesitation, PROXY lunged forward, a shimmering red training saber forming in his hand. Valance barely dodged, rolling aside and firing off a volley from his blaster. The shots sizzled against PROXY’s adaptive shielding, forcing Valance to switch tactics. The porgs, meanwhile, swarmed. One latched onto his cybernetic arm, pecking furiously at the metal, while the other dove for his face. Valance roared in frustration, swiping at the tiny creatures as PROXY pressed the attack, shifting his form into Obi-Wan Kenobi, then General Grievous in rapid succession. The bounty hunter had fought droids before, but never one aided by suicidal, kamikaze porgs.

PROXY’s strikes came faster, his movements eerily fluid as he mimicked the greatest warriors in the galaxy. Valance blocked a blow with his cybernetic forearm, only for the porg on his arm to screech and flap wildly, momentarily throwing off his balance. PROXY capitalized, spinning into an acrobatic flourish straight out of Anakin Skywalker’s holorecorded duels. A well-placed kick sent Valance sprawling, his blaster skidding across the alley floor. The porgs saw their opportunity and pounced—or at least, two of them did. The roasted one simply rolled off its skewer, landing unceremoniously in the dirt.

Gritting his teeth, Valance activated his wrist blade, lunging up to meet PROXY in close quarters. Sparks flew as metal clashed against reinforced plating. He managed to impale PROXY through the shoulder, but the holodroid merely flickered, shifting appearances once again—this time taking Valance’s own form. The sight of himself smirking back at him momentarily threw Valance off, and in that split second, the remaining porgs launched their final assault. One headbutted his chin while the other clawed at his chest plate, their sheer cuteness making it disturbingly difficult to fight back.

But Valance was a survivor, hardened by years of war and betrayal. With a guttural snarl, he grabbed both porgs and hurled them aside, ignoring their sad, betrayed chirps. He focused entirely on PROXY, knowing the droid was the truest threat. With a powerful upward slash, he severed the holodroid’s head from its body, sparks cascading as PROXY’s systems failed. The head rolled to a stop, its photoreceptors dimming. The battle was over.

Breathing heavily, Valance surveyed the carnage. The two living porgs stared up at him with wide, horrified eyes, their tiny beaks quivering. He could almost hear them pleading. But he had no time for sentiment. Without a word, he reached down, grabbed the perfectly roasted porg, and took a massive, unapologetic bite. The other porgs wailed in despair as he chewed, savoring his hard-earned meal. He’d fought Jedi, Sith, and droids—but nothing had ever tested his resolve quite like overcoming the adorable onslaught of porgs.

Bossk vs. Shimrra Jamaane - this one is pretty clear.

Fennec Shand (prepared) vs. Goran Bevin - IMO this is a really close one. In the end I like Bevin, he’s a beast in combat, and I really enjoyed your argument, SithO.

Last, but not least… PORGS lead by PROXY clearly are winners.

two great arguments, but i'm taking fennec shand (prepared) to win here. i think the feats that jordan cited from BB establish her as a very good h2h combatant. sitho makes a good point about goran's armor limiting fennec's use of ranged weapons and the difference in legends/canon team fett. in the end, i just don't see enough feats from goran to match fennec's, and while it may not be an ideal prep situation, fennec is surely smart enough to gain an edge from the additional strategic time (paired with her knowledge of mandalorians).

@heels1785 - Lady B and I were also split on the Porgs and PROXY vs. Valance match, so we need your vote there.

No pressure, but ... your singular vote here decides if we have an outright champion declared or if we go to teams to decide the champ.

I'm probably too biased to pick anyway-- I def would've picked Fennec (prepped) b/c while my Goran opinions have been a rollercoaster this Draft, Jordan put together a spectacular arg and unpacked the prep in a way that was brilliant.

But I thought the PORGXY arg was too funny in addition to having substance, and while Valance is a beast again in large part to Jordan's (I think we can easily say this now, Hall of Fame arg skills, particularly with comics), there's a so much unpredictability to everyone on the other side that I love alongside a path to victory that includes food poisoning.

But again, I'm biased, and if you'd like to use @heels1785 to confirm or deny-- and send this to a Horax tiebreaker?!-- go for it.

Congrats to both of you for a spectacular run, and some of the best, funnest moments in this silly saga.
