    My cousin usually does her Christmas shopping over the summer too. Made sense when she worked at Hasbro and all toys/games were like 90% off. Now, not as much :p

    What Christmas song do you prefer? The one that sings about "round, young virgins"? Or the one that says "oh what fun it is to laugh and sing a Slayer song tonight?"

    Margaery would probably prefer the latter but I like the former. Everyone loves Slayer!

    Jingle Bells is roundly terrible as a secular Christmas song. It doesn't really excel in any respect. "It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas" is a lot more evocative and emotionally resonant, capturing the spirit of the holiday. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is better at highlighting the importance of family and filial piety. "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" and "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" are more mirthful.

    You picked the ugly step-sister of all Christmas music.

    I've long had a soft spot for "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"--it's sentimental and introspective, with a touch of both resolve and melancholy.
