Full Series The *Official* Cad Bane in TCW Thread

Yeah, Bane's voice is awesome, but there's almost an Italian accent in there.

Strangely, he almost reminds me of Doctor Lizardo from Buckaroo Banzai. "Aurra Sing, you are the weakest individual I ever know! Now give me my overthruster, monkey-boy!"

 

That's interesting, and if it's true, that's pretty cool. And on CN's site they have these vids that have little tidbits about the episodes and the one did mention that Bane's gear is designed to counteract the Force so that's a possibility. And I still want to know how he kept his hat on the whole time during HH and Cargo of Doom, and then he easily loses it in this one...perhaps his replacement hat didn't have a special device to keep it on his head?

 

Are the tubes filled with little ysalamiri or something?

 

Could we get a scan or photo of the card? Or, barring that, a direct quote? This sounds intriguing...

That was my first thought.

In any case, it would explain why he was able to sneak out of the Jedi temple in 'Holocron Heist' and how Anakin was able to still sense Bane when he was disguised as Denal at the very end of 'Cargo of Doom'.

Anyhow, I've been re-capping some of the Bane scenes from 'Holocron Heist' (I'll get to 'Cargo of Doom' and 'Children of the Force' eventually), and as I was doing so, I noticed that Bane is rather "expressive", or perhaps the animation has gotten better.

I'm a fan of the subltle, dont'cha know.

He's a really well animated character, IMHO. It'll be fun to see what I can find in the next two episodes. =]

I think the tubes were just specially engineered; not sure if he'd really want ysalamiri crawling all over him. Or maybe some essence of ysalamiri were put in when they were built? The card left it a little vague.

Mekairinek - I've noticed that, too. Especially compared to HC, where it seemed a little "flat"...he's a lot more fun to watch, methinks.

Yeah, especially since ysalamiri are kinda big. (At least, from what I've seen) I'm leaning more towards engineered, though that does open up the question of SWU*Science vs. The Force, but that's for a different topic altogether.

Yeah, there is a lot more fluidity to the animation in general, comparing last season to the newest. Bane just seems a little more 'fluid' compared to HC. Especially in the facial expressions, but then again, we didn't really get too many close-ups in HC like we did in the 'Rise of the Bounty Hunters' trilogy.

(Hmmm, that might actually be worth doing a comparison/contrast video one of these days)

 

BTW does anyone else besides me find Cad Bane smexy?

Um no, I'm into noses. Lips too. Pupils are also awesome.

 

I'll have to remind myself to complement my wife on her lovely pupils, they don't get nearly enough attention.

 

Actually he has small lips and I think he might smell with his eyes.

Of course Bane is sexy, he has that lovable raspy voice akin to Kiefer Sutherland, I would happily have him put me to sleep anytime. My wife wants it to be noted that he is blue and I hate the color blue, so this is actually saying alot about Cad Bane.

Anyway, I agree with you, Mek. I like the subtle expressions as well, it seems to me that they make the aliens of this show more realistic looking than the human characters, although their expressions have become more subtle and complex as well...what can I say, I'm totally digging this improved animation, I hope they continue the trend and make it even better.

And on another note, what if his hat can do the same thing his breathing tubes supposedly can do? Perhaps that's why he wears it all the time...not just because it's uber cool, but also because it serves some sort of purpose.

 

I took down my CB AMV mostly due to the awful picture quality.
So now that I figured it out, I should have a better quality version of it
out in a while.

Why do you think it would be bad to date him?
He would probly take me to a firing range or something. LOL

From what I read, the tubes help him breath in harsher climates.
So he can live with out them for a while I think.
