I’ve had a few from them. A couple of stouts (Aus Mas Jesus and Biscotti) and another ipa I can’t think of. But I’m happy with them all. Not just run of the mill flavors. But the Molotov has been my go to the past few months .

They make such great beer.

 

I stopped by Deschutes in downtown Portland last night with my cousin. Had a sample of their American Wheat, which was solid (and much better than Portland staple Widmer Hefeweizen). I also had a full glass of a Grapefruit Rose Sour, which was excellent, and a Berliner Weisse with a Blackberry Thyme syrup shot. The shot was not overpowering or too sweet, it was just right and rounded out the flavor nicely.

 

Just a reminder to everyone that today is National Drink Beer Day

 

Shoot. You mean all those beers I had yesterday were wasted?

Last night, I had a taste of Deschutes Hopzeit, a beer that I avoided based on the name and it being an IPA. However, it was excellent AND a surprisingly good and unique beer. It tasted malty like an Oktoberfest, but had some additional hop notes, yet ended without a bitter aftertaste. I recommend!

 

i've been drinking those lately, agree with your assessment.

 

It's so unique, isn't it?

 

I’ve never seen that around the DC area. Hopefully I will one day !

Currently in the process of creating the taplist for my bar's 6th anniversary. It's always such a fun but slightly stressful process. You really want to wow people and peacock a little bit but also keep things balanced -- for some reason, 10 draft lines of 9%+ beers at an all you can drink party doesn't end well

I would be surprised if Deschutes made it all the way to DC.

 

Deschutes is here just not that specific one.

Wow really.

 

On the weekend, I went to a micro brewery that's recently opened. They had a lot of different sorts and flavours. I tried the liquorice beer, a new favourite

 

What was the name of the brewery?

 

The Bushman

 

It was sweet, tasted just like liquorice all sorts

 

Cool. Never heard of them.

 

Yea, a little more like liquorice jelly beans or black cats
