Art Archive The Official DVD Fan Covers Thread

Hey.

I don't have teh eqipment to make all this cool fanart stuff, but I just thought I'd make a suggestion to you artist out there. What would be really col would be to have a cover for the entire saga boxed set, meaning it would be, relative to itself, as tall as a dvd, and as wide as the spines of six.

It should have Ep.III Anakin/Darth Vader, with the dividing lin down the head, with a small, faded picture of Ep.III Anakin to the left of Ep. III Anakin's giant head. To the right of Vader's head should be a picture of Darth Vader wielding a lightsaber, next to which should be a pciture of Jedi Luke with his green lightsaber in hand. To the left, just slightly underneath the giant heads, should be a picture of Ep.III Obi-Wabn wielding his lightsaber, and right next to that, on the right,a pciture of old Obi-Wan, with his lgihtsaber, taken straight out of the beginning of the duel scene in Episode IV. To the left of Anakin should be Yoda, and to his right, Sidious. On the bottom right hand corner should be a fading picture of the three force ghosts. Then throw everyone else in there. Leia, Han, Chewbacca, 3PO, R2, Lando, Mace, Bail, Grievous, Dooku, Maul, Jango, Boba, Jabba, Wicket, Tarkin, Gunray, Ackbar, Mon Mothma, all the jedis, some Wookies and Ewoks, and anything ele one can think of, with space, and planets from space-view in the background, and also planets from ground view, like Tatooine, Naboo, Hoth, Mustafar, the forrest moon, and so forth.

Yeah. That would be cool.

 

Sorry about that, I've been gone for awhile and I have no way to get it back if that went down since my computer had to be reformatted about a month ago.

This is my third version of my ESB cover, and I'm pretty happy with it.

The only problem is I can't put a good lense flair on the lightsaber in paint shop pro. PM me if you can do it for me.

The quality of the base images of many of these especially TPM and ANH are pretty bad but, yeah.

Here's a DVD cover for The Holiday Special, designed to match the movie releases.

The layout of the logos and information on the back is based on both the Region 2 Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith DVD covers.

I'm bending the "four characters to a cover" rule by counting Chewbacca's family as one character, and I've also got three insets on the back instead of one. Asides from that, I think it's pretty accurate (in terms of matching previous releases).

 

I've just finished an interior for the above cover based loosely on the Clone Wars: Volume One DVD
rather than the any of the movies...

...as well as a disc label similar to the Original Trilogy releases (incorporating a picture of the original poster -- the closest thing I could find for The Holiday Special was the original TV Guide advertisement...)

These are just mock up's of what I plan to do for my dvd's. I still have to make huge finished versions. I think the backs and spines are fine for the most part so I just did the fronts.
