The Official Fan Art Challenge is back for the new year. Let's kick it off with some great art!

Each month we will post up four topics on different themes that people can choose from. You can submit drawings, paintings, posters, collage, photo-manipulation... whatever you're inspired to do.

This is not a contest, and everyone is welcome to post responses to this thread, regardless of whether you've ever posted anything in this forum. Please don't be nervous or discouraged, because all of us would love to see your fanart!

Here are the topics for January:

JANUARY FAN ART CHALLENGE:

Characters:Jabba the Hutt or Padme Amidala
Scene:The Battle of Geonosis(AOTC) or Chasm Crossfire (Luke and Leia's swing) (ANH)
Thing: Design an advertisement parody that you would see in the SW Universe
Fun: Draw yourself in the role of ANY Star Wars character

-Please post your images in this thread so we can have them all collected in one area, but of course you're also allowed to post them in your own artwork threads.

-You can submit fanart for one topic, or do all of them. It is up to you.

-Comments for everyone's artwork should also be posted in this thread. Even if you're not participating yourself, your comments are more than welcome.

-If you have suggestions for future topics, please PM them to me or post them in the Artist's Lounge Social Thread.

Thanks I couldnt really figure out how to make the nose look good so I left it out.

Edit: I just found a great resource for pics of Battle of Geonosis so I just had to make a wallpaper out of it. (2 versions light and dark)

Okay, this is my submission for a Star Wars Advertisement parody:

After you click on the thumbnail you will probably have to go down to the bottom right hand corner of the pic with your curser until you see an ENLARGE icon. Click on that to get the biggest pic possible. Otherwise I don't think you will be able to read the small print. Please let me know if you have problems. I may have to get one of my computer geek friends help me to fix it for better viewing.

Leave it to me to throw the proverbial "bucket of water" on all the great "funnies" we've been getting in here this month, lol!

I haven't participated in here for a couple of months now--too busy with all the requests!--but this has been sitting unfinished for a long time, and I wanted to get it done and drop it in here since it fits the characters category. I wanted to try Padme again (Obi-Dawn Kenobi "challenged" me to try her again...it's hard to resist a challenge like that!), and I loved this scene from ROTS:

"This Is How Liberty Dies..."

I'm glad I got something up for the Challenge again--it's been a while!

I gotta second AG88 here. Great stuff...

I already saw it over at DA, for I uploaded a new art of me nearly simultaneously with you. Very nice, indeed!

Great stuff as well, everyone else!

I especially like odj's wallpaper (the light version) and AG88's ad. Latter is a very hilarious piece!
