These catch rules seem absurd too. Possession of the ball, two feet in, that was a clear catch. He let go of the ball when he was three feet out of the endzone. And they rule an incomplete pass. What a joke.

Disagree completely. It came out the moment he hit the ground. There’s no way we would have called that a catch when we were kids.

 

I don't know. He was already out of the endzone when he hit the ground. I mean nowadays it's an obvious incompletion, but that's because we've gotten so used to the new rules. I think before all those rules came into play that would have been a catch. Two hands gripping the ball, no question about if he was still in the process of catching it, clear possession for a solid second, two feet in. Those tippy toe finger tip catches where he falls out of bounds, that today would be ruled as incompletions.

 

You don’t come up with the ball, you didn’t catch the ball. I mean, if you caught it, where is it? Oh, it’s over there on the ground, and no one even took it from you. You just let it go. You dropped it.

Eh, I think too many passes are being ruled incompletions over something that happens after the catch itself. Also, there's a lot of wood be fumbles that then get called back because it was ruled an incompletion.
